Chapter 1565: Chapter 609 Huge Space_2
Whenever everyone thought they might encounter the Destiny Organization at any moment, they stopped paying attention to these strange details and instead focused entirely on moving forward. They then delved into the depths of Mount Kilimanjaro. With the winding cave passages, everyone except Yan Fei had long lost their sense of direction and could only follow the path to its very end.
More than half an hour had passed, yet they continued advancing in the pitch-black cave. Based on their perception, they had walked at least twenty to thirty kilometers. Judging by the incline of the cave, they should now be about three or four thousand meters beneath Mount Kilimanjaro, with a vertical distance of nearly ten thousand meters from the cave’s entrance.
Over such a long distance, they hadn’t encountered a single fork in the passages. The deeper they ventured underground, the larger the passage became—so large that even the Ancestral Land could leap forward within it. As they pressed on, the temperature within the passage grew increasingly hotter, now surpassing thirty degrees. If they weren’t all God-Level Experts, it would have been impossible for them to continue forward. Oddly, despite the high temperatures, the air inside was incredibly breathable, and none of them experienced any difficulty breathing.
Just as their patience was about to run out, faint glimmers of light began to appear in the passage ahead. Everyone instantly became excited and cautiously forged ahead. As they passed through a small hole, their eyes were suddenly met with brightness—they had stumbled upon a massive space.
This space was enormous, topped by a layer of red rocky dome, and the bottom was filled with scorching magma—dark red magma flowing endlessly. The height from the topmost dome to the magma below exceeded a staggering five hundred meters.
The stone walls of the space were incredibly smooth, resembling mirrored glass. On both sides of the magma were platforms mainly composed of rock, each elevated only twenty meters above the magma. These platforms flanked the magma, turning it into a lava chasm.
The magma beneath emitted terrifying heat, a heat so extreme that it distorted the air above, making the edges of the space impossible to discern even with their sharp eyesight. Many people’s first impression was that they had stepped into Hell itself...
Standing above the lava chasm and looking at the immense space, everyone experienced a sense of awe and speechlessness. Previously, when Tripiṭaka mentioned discovering a massive space deep underground here, nobody had taken it seriously. But now, upon seeing this enormous underground space at a depth of 4,000 meters, they were utterly stunned—not only by its sheer size but also by the abundant magma flowing within.
Tripiṭaka stared in amazement and muttered, "This is truly incredible. I didn’t expect such a vast space to exist underground."
Yoshimasa Abe remarked, "This scene is indeed spectacular, but there’s no trace of human activity here. Are you sure this is truly the Destiny Organization’s Lair?"
Though unable to view the full scope of the massive space, they hadn’t found any human traces, making Yoshimasa Abe’s doubts understandable—it seemed possible they might have targeted the wrong place.
Tripiṭaka, without any instruments on hand, naturally couldn’t immediately investigate the space. However, just as he was about to speak, Yan Fei suddenly said, "I Am Who I Am, please explore the space here."
Beside Yan Fei, I Am Who I Am’s body shimmered briefly as he formed a Bloodsucking Bat Avatar from his hand. The bat soared into the altitude, quickly flying around to survey the terrain. It then headed toward the far reaches of the space. A while later, I Am Who I Am’s expression abruptly changed; his body staggered backward repeatedly as though he had suffered an unknown attack.
Yan Fei hastily steadied I Am Who I Am and asked, "What’s going on?"
I Am Who I Am let out a deep breath and replied, "I flew along the platform ahead and discovered two bridges. Crossing those bridges, I reached the far end, where I saw an enormous square. My Bat Avatar didn’t have time to investigate the square further before it was struck by an unknown force and destroyed."
Hearing I Am Who I Am’s explanation, Tripiṭaka showed excitement rather than alarm and said, "I knew it! We didn’t come to the wrong place. There must be traces of human activity here. That square is definitely the Destiny Organization’s Lair."
Learning that they hadn’t targeted the wrong location, everyone grew exhilarated. They hurriedly followed the direction identified by I Am Who I Am. After bypassing a colossal rocky formation, they found that the platform abruptly ended. Yet what emerged was a Suspension Bridge, spanning two kilometers to connect to the opposite shore. The bridge’s lowest point hovered only ten meters above the lava flow. Only by crossing the bridge could they reach the rocky area across, and subsequently arrive at the square discovered by I Am Who I Am.
Spotting the clearly human-made Suspension Bridge, everyone finally felt reassured. All along their journey into the depths of the underground, they hadn’t seen any trace of human activity, leading them to doubt whether they were heading the right way. But now, finding a man-made bridge above the lava lake confirmed that this time, they weren’t mistaken—the square ahead was most likely the Destiny Organization’s Lair.
