Chapter 936 - 936 922 Ridiculous People
Chapter 936: Chapter 922: Ridiculous People Chapter 936: Chapter 922: Ridiculous People Although Ling Li felt it was a pity that he hadn’t been able to kill Longhun, he thought to himself that the man’s martial arts were not bad. If he could save him, there might be a chance to join forces with him in the future to confront Longhun again.
Ma Jun was still somewhat reluctant and said, “He’s from the Demon Domain, and the Demon Domain has enmity with our Dragon Slaying Clan, why should we save him.”
Ling Li said to Ma Jun, “Think about it, his martial arts are not bad. If we can save him, perhaps he could help us kill Longhun in the future. Finding a capable assistant is not an easy task.”
Upon hearing this, Ma Jun was tempted and said, “It’s a pity. If this guy hadn’t had an accident, we would have killed Longhun by now.”
“It’s not his fault, Longhun is too smart and outwitted him,” Ling Li summoned the four top masters and said, “You, keep watch.”
Shi Xueqin seemed to have lost her soul, no longer the innocent girl she once was. How could she be so foolish.
Ling Li, along with the four top masters, said, “First, clear the evil qi from his body, then stabilize the true qi within him.”
The four seniors nodded in agreement.
Under the leadership of Ma Jun, they exerted their power and, as Ling Li had said, Su Zhanze finally didn’t have to deal with the evil qi and the Fire Mastiff alone, achieving stable true qi.
Regulating the true qi within his body.
Longhun and Slaughter Saint returned, and Jing Po was somewhat angry. It was only then that he learned Longhun had almost been killed and was still in shock, hardly believing it was true.
Jing Po cursed, “I knew Su Zhanze would not sincerely join us. He even tried to kill the Young Master. We should have killed this guy long ago.”
Slaughter Saint said, “Enough.” He also knew that Fang Ziren and the others had escaped from the encirclement.
Jing Po said, “It’s really a pity that we let Fang Ziren and the others get away.”
“Enough, if they’ve escaped, they’ve escaped. Your hopping around is no use,” Slaughter Saint said to Longhun, “We’re prepared to treat you.”
“It’s nothing, this wound, I can treat it myself.”
“Damn Ling Li, I will have him hunted down, and I will not allow him to escape again,” Jing Po said, fuming with anger.
“We shall rest here, and discuss any matters tomorrow,” Slaughter Saint looked at Longhun.
Dawn broke.
The burnt-black Su Zhanze woke up, feeling immense pain in his lower body. His right cheek bore several scars, and the smell of charring lingered. He remembered being hit off the cliff. Yes, he had been struck in the groin, and now he could not move, his body being wrapped in layer upon layer of cloth. No, such a thing should not have happened; what was the difference between him and a eunuch now? How could he face the people again, or live up to his ancestors?
Seeing that Su Zhanze had awakened, Ling Li came over with something to eat and said, “We could only rid you of the evil qi and suppress the Fire Mastiff. As for the injuries to your groin and your face, it would be best to find a doctor.”
Su Zhanze had fragments of memory and recalled the events of the previous evening. Those from the Dragon Slaying Clan had saved him.
With his help, Fang Ziren had been rescued from the encirclement, but in return, they had sent him tumbling down the cliff, leaving him in his current condition. He didn’t know what words could describe the blow he felt.
“Stop dwelling on it. Just surviving wasn’t easy, eat something. We’ll take you away from here and find you a doctor when the time comes,” Ling Li said.
Su Zhanze was puzzled and asked, “Why did you save me?”
“Perhaps it’s out of conscience. If we hadn’t saved you, you would’ve fallen into devilry. Although we have enmity, after all, this happened while you were joining us in the fight against Longhun.”
When Su Zhanze heard the word ‘conscience,’ he found it laughable. If the people of the Dragon Slaying Clan all had such a conscience, then had the people of the Demon Domain’s conscience been eaten by dogs?
“Hey, don’t think about it. It wasn’t easy for you to survive. Eat something; we’ll take you out and find a doctor for you along the way. We won’t leave you here,” Ling Li assured.
Su Zhanze had begged Fang Ziren for help, but no one saved him. The ones who did save him were from the Dragon Slaying Clan. What kind of world was this? If they wouldn’t save him, that was one thing, but to beat him down a cliff and vow to eliminate harm for the people…
He had tried to save them, to help them break free, but they tried to kill him. What irony! Gazing at the sky, in that moment, Su Zhanze felt ridiculed by everything, all so false.
Ling Li passed the food to him and there he was on the stretcher, an unfamiliar person, an enemy, yet he had been saved by them while the Demon Domain claimed to be righteous.
Ren Xiongbei had abandoned them, they had been captured, and in an attempt to clear their own folly, they sought to kill Longhun and save the Demon Domain, assisting the Heavenly City Sect out of their predicament, only to be thrown down the cliff by the very same people from the Heavenly City Sect.
They wanted him dead. Shaking his head, he wondered why they treated him that way. Perhaps the world was always this laughable, and he was just unaware until now.
“Stop thinking about it,” Ling Li placed the food in front of him.
Ma Jun rushed back in a panic and said, “Shi Xueqin has disappeared.”
“What, Shi Xueqin has disappeared?” Ling Li stood up, his mind in turmoil.
Ma Jun said, “Could she have gone back to kill Longhun?”
It was very likely; she knew Longhun was the murderer of her father, and she must be intent on avenging her father by killing Longhun.
“When did she disappear?” Ling Li became anxious.
“It must have been before dawn,” Ma Jun answered, also anxious, “Should we go back and look for her?”
The Dragon Slaying Clan might very well be in the woods, and they had many people, which was extremely dangerous.
Su Zhanze threw out a sentence, saying, “Don’t worry, she’ll be fine.”
Ma Jun looked over, not understanding what he meant.
“The Dragon Slaying Clan didn’t care about the danger to themselves when they came to rescue her. He feels differently about that girl; he won’t kill Shi Xueqin, she’ll be alright.” After a few days, Su Zhanze had made this judgment, gnawing on his roasted meat.
Ma Jun glanced at Ling Li.
Su Zhanze had thoroughly understood the world now; it was cold and indifferent, it had always been that way.
He truly felt ridiculous about himself, having turned into what he was now. Since his father’s death, he had wanted to do something for the Demon Domain, but he ended up like this. Without this group of people he had just met, he would have gone mad, truly mad, or he might have died at the foot of the mountain. Would anyone actually shed a tear for him?
Of course not. The Demon Domain wasn’t worth his efforts anymore; they were all hypocrites.
“Trust me, that girl won’t be in trouble, don’t go back. The Dragon Slaying Clan seeks revenge for even the smallest slights, they’re probably hoping you’ll return. If they catch even a small chance, they’ll never let go. I assure you, she’ll be fine. If something happens, I’ll owe you my life,” Su Zhanze said, seeing Ling Li’s feelings for the girl and fearing he would do something foolish, especially since they had saved his life.
“He’s right,” Ma Jun said to Ling Li. “Yesterday, the Dragon Slaying Clan showed up regardless of the danger. They wouldn’t hurt Shi Xueqin.”
When Shi Xueqin, sword in hand, found the Dragon Slaying Clan.
The Dragon Slaying Clan had just been tending to their injuries.
Shi Xueqin charged in with her sword, and someone came to block her.
The Dragon Slaying Clan told them to step back. He was a bit conflicted but knew it was unavoidable; sooner or later she would find out, and now he even felt a bit relieved.
Longhun faced away from Shi Xueqin, and just as her sword was about to swing down, Longhun said, “Come on, you’re right, I killed your father. If you want to avenge your father, kill me. Just thrust the sword in right here,” he moved the sword to his chest, over his heart.
Shi Xueqin thrust the sword toward him, but as soon as the tip touched his chest, it stopped.
“Keep going, just thrust it in, and you’ll have avenged your father.”
“Why are you doing this to me?” Shi Xueqin yelled.
“No reason. I’m just a bad guy; I told you that from the start.” He seemed to have calculated that Shi Xueqin wouldn’t kill him.
“Why are you doing this to me?”
“I have no choice. I didn’t want it this way, but you know, your father and I could never be in the same boat. It just had to be this way.”
The sword moved further in, and blood began to flow.
Yet Shi Xueqin remembered yesterday when he had come to rescue her against all odds, and being naturally compassionate and soft-hearted, she really couldn’t do it.
“Don’t worry, after you kill me, they won’t do anything to you. You will be able to solve everything. The people of the Demon Domain might even be grateful to you,” Longhun continued to drink his tea.
“Why didn’t you just kill me with one stroke that day?” She remembered the day her father died when she arrived and saw Longhun, who must have just killed her father.
“I couldn’t do it.”
Shi Xueqin shook her head, her heart shattering in that moment.
“Stop crying. It’s all my fault. Don’t worry, kill me, and you won’t be in so much pain.”
Shi Xueqin glared at him, hesitant and struggling in that moment. She wanted to act, but she just couldn’t bring herself to do it.
“I’m sorry to you. I shouldn’t have made you suffer like this, but I couldn’t spare your father. Without killing him, how could I unite them and avenge the Dragon Slaying Clan and my father?”
“Then who will avenge my father, you madman?”
“Exactly, so you should kill me. I have no regrets. I’ve always believed in doing whatever it takes to reach a goal. I can be pretty mad indeed, but sometimes I don’t want to be. If I didn’t kill your father, the Dragon Slaying Clan would fall apart. I gave your father a chance, but he just wouldn’t listen. What else could I do?”
Shi Xueqin clenched her teeth.
“Come on, kill me. If it makes you a bit happier, just do it. Just thrust it in; it’s my heart. Even my neck will do, like slaughtering a chicken. Just one quick swipe, and it’s all over. As long as you’re happy.”
As the sword was about to pierce through, with the blood flowing down the tip, her hand trembled, and the sword slid down. Shi Xueqin shouted, “Why did you save me yesterday?” and she had already run out of the tent.
