Chapter 834 - 834 820 Misunderstanding
Chapter 834: Chapter 820: Misunderstanding Chapter 834: Chapter 820: Misunderstanding The door wasn’t fully opened when the drunken girl threw herself into his arms, even startling him.
Upon closer inspection, it was Wan Danrong, already seven-tenths drunk, reeking of alcohol. Ye Chen murmured, “Who let you drink?”
Wan Danrong swayed like she was practicing drunken boxing. Before Ye Chen could shut the door to his room, she began to undress. He turned his head, startled, and asked, “Girl, what are you doing?”
“Sleeping?”
“This is my room though.”
“I know, but I want to sleep in your room.” Her clothes lay discarded on the ground…
“We haven’t moved this fast, have we?”
By then, she was only left with her pants.
Ye Chen was so shocked he couldn’t speak. He hurriedly picked up the clothes from the ground, intending to dress her, but Wan Danrong had already burrowed under the blankets.
Ye Chen was stunned. Had she gone completely mad? Or had he started acting foolishly? She was delivering herself straight to his door. He pinched his nose and quickly pulled the blanket over her.
But she grabbed hold of his hand, clenched it fiercely, and said, “Why, why did you decide so quickly and didn’t even tell me? Do you really think it’s unnecessary?”
Ye Chen froze, unable to respond, but Rong’er had her eyes closed. He guessed that she drank because of this matter.
“I really like you quite a bit. I really do. I’m willing to give you everything,” she said, clutching tightly to Ye Chen’s arm as if afraid he’d run away.
It took Ye Chen quite an effort to free his arm from her grasp.
She lay like she was asleep, just a child in her drunken stupor.
Only then did Ye Chen realize how dreadful he had been. Indeed, he was a bit dreadful. If he weren’t, he wouldn’t have done what he did. But he was also very clear that this was not the time to be ambiguous. He picked up the clothes from the ground and placed them on the chair next to the table.
Ye Chen walked toward the door of the room.
It seemed he would have to sleep on the floor tonight.
Fortunately, he found a blanket in the wardrobe, which wasn’t too bad. Anything was better than sleeping in the wild these past days.
The room was quiet, and the girl on the bed was still mumbling drunkenly. It wasn’t clear what she was saying as she babbled nonsense to herself.
Finally settled, he decided not to let anyone disturb him. He was resolute not to open the door tonight; he needed to get a good night’s sleep, and any other matter could wait until tomorrow.
After days of running for his life, he had never felt as relaxed as he did this evening. It was indeed a rare reprieve.
Gone for the entire night without a trace.
Guo Yuyun got up, not knowing when the two girls returned last night. Worried that they might have been sold, she headed to Xuan Si’s room early in the morning and woke up Xuan Si to make sure she returned and hadn’t been deceived by someone the night before. She also said, “Where did you guys go last night? I brought back lots of goodies and waited for you for a long time, but you didn’t return.”
Xuan Si yawned and said, “We went drinking,” and she still didn’t seem to want to open her eyes.
“Drinking? Why didn’t you call me?”
“It’s not for you.”
“How is it not for me?”
“It really isn’t for you.” Xuan Si stretched lazily and tried to remember how she got back last night. She couldn’t recall anything.
At that moment, Guo Yuyun rushed to the room next to Wan Danrong, calling several times without reply. When she pushed on the door, it opened.
“You didn’t sell Rong’er, did you?”
Xuan Si was surprised too and ran over to Rong’er’s room. Holding her forehead, she couldn’t remember anything.
“Are you sure you came back with Rong’er last night?” Guo Yuyun glanced inside the room, where there was clearly no sign of someone having returned. If someone had slept there, the bedding surely wouldn’t be so neat.
“I don’t know.”
“You didn’t abandon her, allowing some old man to abduct her, did you?” Guo Yuyun expressed her concern.
Xuan Si suddenly remembered something and said, “Xuan Hong was there last night; he didn’t drink and brought us back.”
“That kid didn’t take Rong’er straight to his room, did he?”
Just then, they heard a shout from below, “Xuan Si, hurry down for breakfast!” It was Xuan Hong, who was on the first floor ordering lots of delicious food.
Xuan Si called out, “Xuan Hong, weren’t you the one who brought me and Rong’er back last night?”
“Right.”
“Where’s Rong’er then?”
“Rong’er was brought back too.”
Guo Yuyun said, “She didn’t end up in your room though, right?”
“No, no.”
“Then tell me, why isn’t Rong’er in her room?” There was no sign of Rong’er in the living room, and it was unlikely she went out early after drinking.
Xuan Hong thought they were joking and hurried up from the first floor. He entered the room and suddenly felt confused, scratching his head and saying, “I brought her back last night.”
“It’s clear Rong’er didn’t come back last night,” said Guo Yuyun.
Xuan Hong was taken aback. He said, “After I brought the two of you back last night, I escorted Si’er to her room. Because you both were too heavy, I brought one at a time. Then, Rong’er told me she would go to her room by herself. After I took Xuan Si to her room, I tidied up a bit and came out, and Rong’er wasn’t downstairs anymore. I thought…”
“You didn’t check her room?” Guo Yuyun was somewhat astonished.
Xuan Hong shook his head.
“Damn it, that little girl, she didn’t get pulled into a room by someone, did she?” Guo Yuyun started to worry.
Xuan Hong was stunned, not knowing what to do, and that’s when Guo Yuyun and Xuan Si started to get nervous.
Xuan Si said, “Don’t scare me.”
“Who’s scaring you? You’re drunk as a skunk, there’re plenty of country bumpkins here looking for a wife, pulling her into a room, anything goes,” said Guo Yuyun.
Xuan Si became anxious as well.
Guo Yuyun ran to Ye Chen’s room, yelling, “Monkey, Rong’er is missing.”
Ye Chen had just woken up, was tidying up the quilt, preparing to change clothes and head downstairs for breakfast when he heard Guo Yuyun’s shouting outside.
Ye Chen was startled.
Guo Yuyun shouted again, yelling, “Did you hear me? Rong’er is missing.” She called out several more times while knocking on the door.
“I hear you,” Ye Chen called back.
Probably the noise disturbed Wan Danrong, who was still sleeping, and she yelled out, “Stop the noise, I want to sleep!”
It gave Guo Yuyun a fright, and she asked, “Did you all hear that?”
Worried about being misunderstood, Ye Chen whispered to Rong’er, who was under the quilt with her shoulders exposed, “Don’t make a sound.”
Xuan Si said, “I think I heard Rong’er’s voice.”
Guo Yuyun froze upon hearing this.
All they heard was Ye Chen saying, “I’ll come out now.”
“Rong’er, are you in there?”
Ye Chen called out, “She’s not here,” opening the door just a crack.
He didn’t dare open it all the way.
Before he could say anything, the door was suddenly kicked open, revealing Rong’er lying on the bed with her clothes thrown on the chair. In that moment, everyone froze, as Rong’er was still asleep, probably half in a dream.
“This isn’t what you all think, it really isn’t.”
After touching the clothes, a foot came stomping over furiously followed by a Dragon Tail Swing, and Ye Chen ended up on the ground, groaning, as if no explanations were necessary.
Ye Chen was in pain and at a loss for what to do, saying, “It’s really not what you imagine, who was on the floor last night.”
Guo Yuyun grabbed the clothes and threw them at Wan Danrong, who was still asleep, then stormed toward the front door, clearly not believing his words.
Xuan Si held her forehead and, after Guo Yuyun had left, said, “You’re really a beast.” Thinking about last night, how Wan Danrong was drunk, it must have been that way. Shaking her head, she hurried after Guo Yuyun.
Rong’er calmly pushed away the clothes on her head, having actually been awake the whole time but pretending to be asleep, while Ye Chen was still rolling on the ground, muttering, “That girl is really harsh.”
Glancing at Wan Danrong, he now realized the girl was awake and said, “Rong’er, you’ve got to explain to me, nothing happened between us last night.”
Wan Danrong looked at him with a hint of panic and asked, “Did you sleep with me last night?”
“Hey, what nonsense are you talking about? Last night, I slept on the floor,” he replied.
Wan Danrong scratched her head, murmuring, “Who would believe that! Do you think Yu Yun and Xuan Si believe it?”
“Hey, girl, I only kept you here last night because you were drunk, you can’t mess things up for me.”
Wan Danrong sat up, saying, “I don’t remember anything. All I know is that I’m now lying in your bed, and I’m not wearing any clothes.”
“Nothing really happened between us,” Ye Chen stood up and insisted.
“I don’t remember,” she said.
“You can’t do this to me,” he pleaded.
“I really don’t remember,” Wan Danrong slowed down, her head still in pain, adding, “You’ve got to take responsibility for me.”
“What, take responsibility?” he asked.
“It’s come to this, of course you have to be responsible for me, though I can be responsible for you too,” she said.
“You girl, you do realize that nothing happened, right?” he said.
“Hurry up and get out, I need to get dressed,” she said.
Ye Chen frowned.
“Hey, you don’t have to leave, I mean, it’s come to this, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about anyway, since we’re going to be together,” she said.
“Girl, nothing really happened last night,” he said.
“If nothing happened, why are you undressed?” she asked.
“You undressed yourself,” he replied.
After hearing this, Wan Danrong sneered, “Who knows.”
“Hey…”
“Go ask Guo Yuyun if they believe you,” Wan Danrong was getting up.
Ye Chen quickly dashed out; that girl was really going to change clothes right in front of him.
