“No, Ye Chen and Li Mo are ahead of us.”

Mu Wanlan immediately perked up and asked, “Is it really them?”

Ling’er glared at her fiercely.

Mu Wanlan hurriedly contained her excitement and lowered her head.

The disciple nodded and said, “Yes, they’re in front of us.”

Ye Chen looked at Ming Qi, relieved that they had received help from the people of Demon Palace City. Otherwise, they would have no clue where to search.

The horse carriage started moving forward again.

Li Mo said to Ming Qi, “Even if Ling’er told you not to, don’t you know other people are worried? Do you not know what’s going on? Really, you should have at least left a message secretly, instead of making us search wildly like headless flies.”

The horse carriage moved forward slowly.

Mu Wanlan said, “I’ll go buy some food and bring it back to the inn.”

Ming Qi yelled from afar; he had found the inn.

Ye Chen said, “Wait for us at the inn up ahead, don’t get lost.”

Mu Wanlan nodded and headed into the street.

The street was bustling with a lot of foot traffic, it was somewhat crowded, and the lanterns on both sides of the road were already lit.

Ye Chen glanced at Ling’er in the carriage. Ling’er just returned his gaze for a moment before continuing to watch the people on the street. The silence made Ye Chen uncomfortable.

The waiter brought over the dishes.

Li Mo and the others were eating on another table.

“You will regret it sooner or later.” Ling’er said.

“You’re just asking for trouble.”

“Fine, I’ll play along with you. You can devise ways to torment me, and I will let you see through my actions that I’m dead serious. Regardless of whether you can stand up in the future, I will always be with you.”

Ling’er smirked coldly.

Mu Wanlan asked, “Where are we going next?”

“You don’t even know where we’re going next, why did you follow Ling’er out?” Ye Chen asked.

Mu Wanlan was afraid to look at him.
