“If we succeed in vanquishing the Zen Master, I want the sect leader’s position,” Ye Chen stated matter-of-factly. “Might as well negotiate the terms now; it’ll only get trickier later.”

Ling’er violently kicked towards Ye Chen, who narrowly evaded the blow.

“A smart move from a clever kid; I have no choice but to oblige, considering the vital circumstances of the day,” Wei Sisan chuckled.

“Indeed, we should clarify these matters beforehand,” agreed Ye Chen. “After all, opportunity does not knock twice.”

“Alright then, we’ll do it your way, but on one condition.”

“Isn’t it about me marrying your daughter?

“Father!” Ling’er protested.
