The people around him were even more at a loss. They were totally unable to deal with these creatures, their shells were too hard. Despite their attempts with hammers, there was no damage inflicted.

Jiang Zhuge, who was nearby, ran over. Ye Chen turned to him and suggested, “Should we release some monsters to handle this situation first?”

Jiang Zhuge found it reasonable. The only option was to release some giant monsters of similar size to hold off the rampaging Carnivorous Giant Turtles while they figured out another strategy.

“Ye Chen, how can we deal with these creatures?”

Ling’er smirked, “He doesn’t have the answer either.”

“Can we use fire?” Jiang Zhuge asked.

“It seems unlikely,” Ye Chen replied.

“Then let’s use our giant monsters for now and figure out what to do next,” offered Jiang Zhuge.

Ye Chen nodded in agreement. With the help of numerous giant monsters , there seemed no better alternative against these ferocious Carnivorous Giant Turtles.

Ling’er exclaimed, “These damned creatures seem to have no weakness.”

Upon hearing this, Ye Chen turned and contradicted, “They do seem to have one vulnerability.”

“And where’s that?”

“Their heads, only their heads.”

“How can we attack their heads when they keep withdrawing them?”

“We smoke them out. At least then they’ll have to show themselves.”

Li Mo, who was nearby, announced, “I’ll go get the smoke ready.”

“You really trust this fool?” yelled Ling’er.

“Let’s give it a try.”

“Why not change the smoke to poison? Wouldn’t that be better?”

“Exactly, that’s a good idea.”

“Hey, don’t poison our own people by trying to poison these creatures,” Ling’er warned hastily.

Heeding her warning, Li Mo asked, “What should we do then?”

Ye Chen paused before suggesting, “Everyone prepare and cover yourselves when ready.”

Soon after, Li Mo left to prepare.

With the giant monsters’ assistance, the Carnivorous Giant Turtles were not as rampant as before. The giant beasts could still hold them off and prevent their chaotic rampage, but this defense was only temporary and not very effective.

Ye Chen pondered, figuring an attack on the turtles’ heads seemed their only option. However, the turtles’ heads instinctively retracted. How could they attack?

“What are you thinking about?” Ling’er asked.

“Attacking their heads,” Ye Chen replied.

“And how would you do that? Stab it with a sword?”

Ye Chen smiled slightly, “No, they like to eat, they like to bite. Let’s cover the meat with poison for them to bite, and poison them to death!”

“Cover it with your meat?”

“Yours would be better, it’s more appealing.”

Li Mo returned with the smoke.

Ling’er instructed him, “Bring some lamb legs, apply poison on them.”

Surprised, Li Mo asked, “To poison them to death?”

“Yes, let them eat, let them bite. The more they eat, the better.”

“That’s indeed a good idea, I’ll get on it right now.”

Soon they prepared poison. As expected, the ravenous Carnivorous Giant Turtles bit fiercely. Suddenly, they found a way to deal with them.

Shouts arose in front, proclaiming that Shen Tian and Zen Master had invaded. Ye Chen looked towards the city gate to indeed see a group of people there.

Jiang Zhuge called out, “Ye Chen, you hurry up and join them. Leave these creatures to us.”

Ye Chen slipped away from the giant turtles and rushed to the city wall where a fierce battle was underway with the people in black. Wei Sisan, leading a team, hurriedly came over. The battle on the walls was as violent as it was under them.

Wei Sisan glanced at a robed figure and yelled, “You’re the Zen Master, aren’t you?”

“Yes, what about it?” replied the Zen Master.

“Heh, the people of Wasteland City bear no grudge against you. Why are you looking for trouble with us?”

“Those words shouldn’t come out of your mouth. Since ancient times, it is survival of the fittest; only the strongest can become the master.”

“As long as I am alive, I will never let you do as you please.” Wei Sisan said.

“To stop me, I’m afraid, your strength won’t be enough.” The Zen Master replied.

“Really? I don’t think you guys possess any great abilities. If you can’t take over Wasteland City within three days, you might not be able to conquer Wastelands.” Wei Sisan retorted.

“It seems like you have no idea about our power.”

“Heh heh, which sect do you guys belong to?”

“Heh, if you want to know which sect we’re from, let’s see if you’ve got the guts.” With that said, the Zen Master attacked Wei Sisan with a blow.

Wei Sisan, who hadn’t been involved in a fight for a long time, reciprocated the Zen Master’s attack, striking thunderously.

A surge of immense energy was released like a wild beast. Wei Sisan was clearly not on the Zen Master’s level. Ye Chen darted over to support Wei Sisan, releasing a Green Dragon to fend off the Zen Master’s swift second blow.

An energy wave flew out, immediately blocking the Zen Master mid-way.

The Zen Master paused for a moment, recognizing the martial arts techniques of the Dragon Slaying Clan. However, he had only learnt just a smattering of it.

Ye Chen then looked back at Wei Sisan.

Wei Sisan stood tall, warning, “Be careful.”

Ye Chen quickly attacked the Zen Master, hoping to gain the upper hand. However, he quickly noticed a strange similarity between his martial arts and the Zen Master’s, exclaiming, “Your martial arts are just like mine.”

Ling’er, who was watching from afar, noticed this too.

“I’d like to ask how you managed to steal our martial arts techniques.” The Zen Master retorted.

“God damn it, you’re the one who stole my martial arts techniques.” Ye Chen rebutted.

“You cheeky brat, bragging without shame.”

Startled by the realization that his martial arts techniques were identical to the Zen Master’s, Ye Chen wondered if the old man was aware of the kind of martial arts he was using.

Two strokes of lightning that he hurled were ensnared by the Zen Master’s lightning. He exerted his might to break free and continued his pursuit of the Zen Master.

The Zen Master avoided the attack with Swift Movement Technique, appearing behind Ye Chen. He slashed aggressively at Ye Chen, who narrowly dodged the attack. Turning around, Ye Chen summoned a bolt of heavenly thunder, which was consequently impeded by a light wave.

Another attack was launched, a lightning channeling massive energy surged forward, destroying everything in its path and quickly closed in. A strong energetic torrent was released, impeding the lightning, creating a deadlock.

With a burst of energy released with the Zen Master’s lightning, the lightning swept across the ground, increasing its energy multiple folds, quickly engulfing the energy torrent released by Ye Chen. Fortunately, Ye Chen instantaneously released a halo of light before the lightning could fully envelop him.

However, the protective sphere barely held, barely resisting the intense energy before cracking open. Enraged, Ye Chen unleashed an even more powerful surge of energy which shattered the energy barrier by turning defense into attack, generating a shockwave like lightning. It consumed the tip of the torrent, but progress inwards became increasingly arduous.

Under the influence of the Zen Master’s mighty energy, the lightning regenerated at a swift pace, consuming Ye Chen’s energy before quickly heading towards him. Blasted by the attack, Ye Chen crashed into the ground and swiftly hid.

The houses behind him collapsed, transforming into a wasteland as smoke filled the skies. Ye Chen barely managed to escape from the sweeping destruction.

Wei Sisan took this chance to divert the Zen Master’s attention, providing Ye Chen with a breather.

However, Ye Chen knew that Wei Sisan was no match for the Zen Master, especially since he was already dealing with Shen Tian and the elders. He had to quickly draw the Zen Master’s attention back to himself.

Although the Zen Master’s martial arts was indeed powerful, unimaginably more so than Shen Tian’s.

Ye Chen flung several rays of light at the Zen Master, intending to use up the old man’s energy rather than overpower him outright.

The Zen Master retaliated with a strike that sent Wei Sisan flying. Luckily, Ye Chen’s continuous attacks had ensnared the Zen Master, causing him to switch his focus from WeiSisan, alleviating the threat to Wei Sisan.

No longer thinking about the consequences, Ye Chen continually attacked, taking every opportunity to strike, hoping to break through the Zen Master’s ironclad defenses.
