Chapter 1390 - 1390 1376 Capturing Meng Xiuluo
Chapter 1390: Chapter 1376: Capturing Meng Xiuluo Chapter 1390: Chapter 1376: Capturing Meng Xiuluo The short one became excited and said impulsively, “This guy even knows how to run away.”
Guo Yuyun, who had jumped down from a tree, sneered and retorted, “If it doesn’t run away, should it just stay here for you to deal with?”
The short one closed his mouth.
Guo Yuyun drew her sword, ready to charge at the Barbarian, “Bastard, you think you can just tie me up?” She aimed to stab towards his chest.
However, her strike was deflected by a sword swung by Meng Xiuluo, who had flown over.
Guo Yuyun complained, “Do you know he tied me up and threw me in a cave?”
Meng Xiuluo looked somewhat protective, not wanting things to escalate, and responded, “I know.”
“Yet you’re blocking me.” Guo Yuyun, as if seeking revenge, called out, “Monkey, come over and help. It was this little guy who tied me up and threw me in the cave.”
Seeing that dusk was approaching, Meng Xiuluo said, “I advise you to save your strength. Although the monster was driven away, the danger isn’t over yet. Who knows when it might come back? Do you really want to stay here until tomorrow morning, waiting for the Pangu Beast to heal its injuries and come back to fight another round, betting it won’t destroy our ship?”
“So just let it go.”
“I will punish him.”
Guo Yuyun sneered, how could she believe her nonsense? How could she possibly punish her own subordinate?
Ye Chen walked over, the monster had left, but he had not fully recovered yet.
Meng Xiuluo knew he was a reasonable person and said, “I’m leaving the brat to you.” She wanted to assess the damage to the ship.
Ye Chen restrained an angry Guo Yuyun, saying, “Calm down. How could you possibly not know that girl would never let you kill her subordinate? What’s most important now is that we find a way to leave this place as soon as possible. There’s nothing more critical than that. Flounder was right, leaving here is what matters most. The Pangu Beast only sustained minor injuries and might return tomorrow. It knows where our camp is now.”
Guo Yuyun was visibly discontent.
“Complicating matters won’t do us any good,” Ye Chen continued. “Killing him is out of the question, at most you can berate him. With that in mind, there’s no use in getting angry. The most crucial thing is to leave.”
Guo Yuyun glared at the Barbarian.
“Okay, consider it lucky that fate didn’t leave us stranded here to keep the monster company until our end,” she said.
“I’ll seek my revenge eventually,” she vowed.
Meng Xiuluo approached the repair team and asked, “How’s the damage to the ship?”
A foreman replied, “It shouldn’t be too big of an issue. We need a couple of days to fix it.”
“No, I want to know if it’s seaworthy, if it will leak or sink,” Meng Xiuluo did not want to risk another night here.
“That won’t happen,” the foreman replied confidently.
“You’re sure! That’s great. Load what’s needed on board. We’ll leave after dark tonight, no delays.” Despite the dangers of sailing at night, Meng Xiuluo was certain that staying was riskier.
It was possible that the Pangu Beast would come down tonight, and all the traps had been used up already. When that time came, who could fend off the Pangu Beast? No one could have driven it away; it was sheer luck, and without the devices prepared a few days before, it would have been impossible to scare it off.
“Okay, I’ll move some repair timber onto the ship so that we can also make repairs while sailing,” said the foreman.
“Good.”
The foreman continued, “We just need to fix the sails.
“Alright, fix the sails then. We must leave after dark,” Meng Xiuluo was worried that the Pangu Beast might come after them in the dark, turning them into its easy prey.
Meng Xiuluo began gathering the crew, sharing her plan, and they all agreed with her. They were scared and eager to leave.
Sitting next to Ye Chen and eating, Guo Yuyun spoke, “We have to catch her.” Her earlier plan with Ye Chen was now affirmed; those guys could very well poison them.
“We’ll talk about it on the ship.
“We must capture that girl. Who can guarantee that guy won’t poison you?” At this moment, Guo Yuyun was more cautious than ever.
Ye Chen walked ahead and asked Meng Xiuluo, “How’s the ship?” He, too, was concerned about being unable to sail tonight.
“There shouldn’t be a big problem,” Meng Xiuluo said.
“If we’re delayed, and you find out we’re still on the island, will you come back for us?” Ye Chen asked curiously.
“Why should I come back for you? Isn’t it nice to let you stay here?” Meng Xiuluo, tired from the day’s events, walked away feeling hungry; without those devices, the ship might have been destroyed.
“What are you looking at? Your eyes are about to fall out,” Guo Yuyun remarked.
“It’s not as exaggerated as you’re making it out to be,” Ye Chen replied.
“Will we be able to leave tonight?”
“She says it’s fine.”
“Then let’s hurry and board the ship,” Guo Yuyun was impatient to get going, fearing being left behind again.
Ye Chen laughed.
“What’s so funny? Am I wrong? Do you want to stay here and keep that monster company?” she retorted.
“Of course not. Why would I want to stay here with the monster?” he replied.
“If you don’t want to stay, then hurry up and come on board. We still have to plan how to capture that girl,” Meng Xiuluo glanced around worried that someone might overhear her and breathed a sigh of relief once she was sure no one did.
The ship set out and then returned. They really had to thank the Pangu Beast because without it, the ship would definitely not have been able to come back. It was a stroke of good fortune amidst the unfortunate events.
Guo Yuyun lay on her own bed, feeling indescribably happy.
“Not having made you the only normal person on the mountain is indeed quite a rarity,” she said.
“Let’s talk about how we’re going to capture Meng Xiuluo instead.”
“How do you want to capture her?”
“Use your beauty trap, of course.”
“What, are you kidding me? I can’t possibly deceive her.”
“Have a little confidence in yourself, just invite her over and we’ll go from there.”
“I don’t know how to invite her.”
“How can you not have a bit of confidence? This isn’t like you at all.”
“It’s true,” Guo Yuyun admitted.
“Tell her you miss her and want to have a chat,” Guo suggested.
It was a trap, he dared to say that, and that girl would castrate him tonight. Ye Chen chuckled: “That girl is very smart. Trying to trick her into coming over with this method is less troublesome than catching her on the way. It’ll save us a lot of trouble.”
“It seems you’re not very confident in yourself.”
“You little girl, don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to.”
“What am I up to then?”
It was getting dark.
The boat also started to slowly leave the small island; today turned out to be an unnecessary scare.
The two of them were on the deck, watching the island shrinking far behind them as the small boat headed west. Yet no one dared to relax; they knew that even if the boat traveled for four hours, it could still turn back, which meant anything could happen.
Utter darkness overwhelmed everything, with the sea churning.
Ye Chen lay in a corner, sitting on the stairs leading up, while Guo Yuyun was sure that Meng Xiuluo had not yet returned. But she would have to pass by here to get back to her room, so all they had to do was wait right here.
It was a bit dark around them, fearing that the monster on the island would notice the departure of the boat, they had all the lights extinguished. Thankfully, there was a half-moon shining tonight, so it wasn’t too dark all around.
“Are we really going to capture her?” Although Ye Chen had agreed to the plan, he felt that the girl wasn’t all that bad.
“Are you showing mercy for the fairer sex?” Guo Yuyun snorted, staring down Ye Chen’s face with flared nostrils.
Ye Chen quickly said, “Not really, I just mean, that girl isn’t too bad, and none of this is her doing. If we capture her, won’t it just anger her, and then she might not have wanted to deal with us but will have to?”
Guo Yuyun retorted irritably, “I think you’re just showing mercy. We can’t be concerned if she gets angry now or not. She’s clearly not taking care of her subordinates. If we want to remain safe, we have no choice but to capture her.”
Ye Chen remained silent.
“Without capturing her, you think you can eat and drink safely? Don’t dream about it. Anytime now, you could be killed and tossed into the sea to feed the sharks,” Guo Yuyun said.
Footsteps approached, distinctly those of a girl; men’s steps tended to be heavier, while girls’ were somewhat lighter.
The footsteps suggested two people, possibly Meng Xiuluo and her companion Xiang Yi. This was confirmed soon after when he heard their voices.
Xiang Yi was heard saying, “Don’t worry, the Pangu Beast is on the mountain’s peak. It’s impossible for it to catch up now.”
Guo Yuyun nudged Ye Chen and whispered, “Don’t mess this up. Remember, those guys are after you, and we’re capturing her for your safety.”
Ye Chen frowned.
“If they poison us, no one will ever know. That girl would still refrain from killing Barbarian,” Guo said.
Soon the two girls passed by.
Suddenly a shadow darted out, and before they could react, Ye Chen had already subdued them.
Xiang Yi was taken aback, not expecting anyone to target them.
Guo Yuyun stepped forward.
Hearing Xiang Yi ask, “What are you going to do?”
“We just want your master to stay with us for a few days,” Guang replied.
“Stay with you? You’re kidnapping me!” Xiang Yi exclaimed angrily, but she was immobilized and couldn’t move.
Guo Yuyun explained, “Think whatever you want, but we have no choice. Your master can’t control her own men, and whether they’ll play tricks is uncertain. To be safe, we need to make you uncomfortable for a few days.”
Meng Xiuluo was not stupid; she quickly understood the situation. It seems this girl was not foolish.
“Do you still think you can leave the ship safely?” Xiang Yi threatened.
“It’s precisely because we want to leave safely that we have to capture her,” Guo Yuyun said. “Shall we take them?”
Ye Chen glanced at them and asked, “Should we take both of them?”
“Our room is already small; it can’t fit four people.”
“We can squeeze in; it’ll also be warmer.”
Guo Yuyun gave Ye Chen a fierce kick.
