No sooner had he sat down than a roar came thundering through, sending a wave of sheer panic washing over him. He hurriedly rushed out and asked, “What’s going on?”

Barbarian replied, “The blood of the sharks may have attracted that monster.”

That monster was known to hunt on the eastern side of the island, and the likelihood of it venturing to the north was quite low. Yet, it wasn’t clear whether it had been lured by the school of sharks or not.

Another roar ensued, accompanied by the sound of splashing water. But due to the heavy fog, one could only roughly discern the direction of the monster.

Meng Xiuluo asked, “Barbarian, can you confirm that it’s the sound of that monster?”

Having heard the monster’s roar on the mountain, Barbarian wasted no time in replying, “Yes, that’s definitely the sound of the monster.” He felt a sense of foreboding, wondering how they had managed to inadvertently draw a whole group of sharks directly to them.

Meng Xiuluo estimated the distance and guessed that the monster probably hadn’t detected their ship yet. The fog was still dense, but it was uncertain whether the monster would discover the ship.

Xiang Yi glanced at the shark corpses floating below and said, “These bodies will definitely attract the monster. We need to leave this area quickly, or we’re in danger.”

It seemed that they had chosen an unfortunate day to set sail, as such troubling incidents were truly headache-inducing.

Suspicion immediately arose, and he looked towards Barbarian. It had only been four hours since Barbarian informed him that the cheap bargain and the girl had boarded the ship. He asked, “Barbarian, what the hell is going on?”

Barbarian was at a loss for words.

The short one said, “They must have gone to get something to eat and haven’t come back yet.”

How could they still be in the mood to eat, with the sound of the Pangu Beast as if it were right beside them?

Meng Xiuluo turned to Xiang Yi and instructed, “Have them turn the ship around and head back to the island.”

Xiang Yi was taken aback.

Having left the island four hours ago, they were indeed quite a distance away. She said, “We could hide in the fog; it’s likely we’ll be safe.”

“Exactly, we don’t need to run all the way back,” the short one chimed in, while their leader Barbarian dared not speak.
