Chapter 1385 - 1385 1371 Falling into a Trap

Chapter 1385: Chapter 1371: Falling into a Trap Chapter 1385: Chapter 1371: Falling into a Trap Day broke.

Ye Chen had originally planned to leave Guo Yuyun on the ship, but Guo Yuyun refused, because something did happen to Ye Chen last time, and she was still worried those guys might cause trouble, so she followed him up the mountain.

Lying in the underbrush, just like the past couple of days, they waited for the Pangu Beast to emerge, knowing that as soon as it left from behind the mountain, they could head down, as the ship had been waiting for them at the mountain’s foot all along.

The morning mist was still thick, and one could feel it even on the mountain peak, giving a suffocating sensation. Lying in the damp grass was rather uncomfortable.

Everything was quiet. Ye Chen hoped that, like yesterday morning, the creature would simply leave from behind the mountain and they’d have nothing to worry about and could descend the mountain.

The Pangu Beast quickly came out, appearing to have grown much fatter in the past few days, probably having eaten plenty of good things, and also much taller.

It first stretched a lazy stretch, looked around, and kept sniffing the air.

Ye Chen remembered Guo Yuyun’s suggestion from the day before, saying, “To control this monster, one must be a madman.” From its physique, it was apparent that the Pangu Beast was growing stronger.

“What’s the use of saying that now!”

At this moment, everyone was waiting, waiting for the Pangu Beast to leave from behind the mountain, so they’d have no worries.

The Pangu Beast had already made its own path through the rear mountain, leading directly to the sea. Although the rear mountain was very steep, it posed no obstacle to the Pangu Beast.

A roar, perhaps truly hungry, the Pangu Beast showed no interest in taking any other path, suddenly turned around, heading to descend from the rear mountain, when suddenly, those guys in front stirred up some trouble, causing a commotion.

The Pangu Beast was startled in an instant, turning its head around—it must have heard the outcry.

Ye Chen was dumbfounded. Those damn idiots had impeccable timing; they were of no help in the previous days, and now they had alarmed the Pangu Beast, simply being more of a hindrance than a help.

Everyone became serious.

The Pangu Beast must have detected the noise and turned to stealthily approach, while those few people were showing off, seemingly making apologies.

Ye Chen said, “No good, they’ve been discovered. I must draw this thing away before they are found, or it could be dangerous.” If they were caught, any sort of accident could happen, maybe some of the men, in their attempt to flee, would lead the Pangu Beast to the front of the mountain, where the large ship was still waiting for them at the foot of the mountain.

It was getting closer and closer.

“I must draw it away, otherwise things will get even more complicated.”

Meng Xiuluo was furious, agreeing that Ye Chen was right. If they didn’t act soon, those guys would be identified one by one. She said, “You need to be careful.”

At this moment, without any delay, it was necessary to take the initiative. Otherwise, those guys would surely be dead meat. With a leap, an energy blast was sent forth. Ye Chen had hoped he wouldn’t have to make a move, but it seemed there was still trouble to deal with.

Several bolts of lightning shot past the back of the Pangu Beast, striking it directly. The Pangu Beast turned its head, and several Fireballs came flying over, proving to be much more formidable than a couple of days ago.

Ye Chen successfully diverted the Pangu Beast’s attention.

Soon, just like the last time, he lured the Pangu Beast to the back mountain. The Pangu Beast, like a mad dog, chased after Ye Chen, who seemed to have gained some experience, yet the Pangu Beast was obviously much more powerful than before.

Guo Yuyun approached Barbarian to confront them, shouting, “What the hell are you guys doing?”

Barbarian hastily explained, “One of the men behind accidently fell.”

“Fell, and just had to fall now,” she said indignantly charging to the rear.

Ye Chen, while leading the Pangu Beast, reached the bottom of the mountain.

Guo Yuyun said, “Hurry down and help out.”

But before she could finish speaking, Barbarian made a move, directly immobilizing her.

Guo Yuyun realized something was terribly wrong, yet she was unable to move and cried out, “What are you trying to do?”

The scrawny one bellowed, “Stop brandishing your power like it’s a command baton.”

A wicked smile appeared on Barbarian’s face, as Guo Yuyun tried to shout for Ye Chen in the front.

“Don’t bother yelling, he won’t hear you,” the scrawny one said.

Barbarian commanded, “Take her to the cave and tie her up.”

“You bunch of bastards, may you have sons without dicks, what are you trying to pull!” Guo Yuyun panicked, finally realizing that they must have deliberately had Ye Chen lead the monster down the mountain, but why would they take her to the cave? If they wanted the Wolf King’s Ring, they could just capture her and blackmail Monkey.

“Relax, we aren’t at the point of dishonoring you, although we really don’t like you guys, you’ve still done a bit of good recently,” one of the big guys said, pushing her onto a rock.

“Ye Chen will deal with you once he finds out.”

“Oh really? By the time he finds out, we’ll have long left this damned island.”

“What, you’re going to leave us here?” Guo Yuyun’s eyes widened in shock.

The short one smiled and said, “Isn’t it fun? Must be really thrilling.”

“Your plan won’t succeed. If your boss finds out, he definitely won’t let you off,” Guo Yuyun said, obviously referring to Meng Xiuluo.

“Don’t worry, by the time they clue in that you’re stuck on the island, many days will have passed, and by then who will care about you? Just stay put on this island.”

“You want the Wolf King’s Ring, I can ask that monkey for it, please don’t make things turn out like this, okay?” Guo Yuyun was getting anxious.

“Scared now, are you!” The short one giggled, then added, “Too late.”

Barbarian shouted, “Hurry and get down.”

“You bunch of bastards, may your sons be born without assholes, doomed to a wretched death from birth.”

But no matter how much Guo Yuyun shouted, no one paid any attention to her, already tied to a stone.

Ye Chen lured the monster down to the foot of the mountain. With the help of a group of people there and an already prepared trap, they sweated it out but quickly shook off the Pangu Beast. It was a stroke of luck.

Having passed another challenge, he sat on a stone to catch his breath.

About a dozen people emerged from the woods, and now that they were at the foot of the mountain, Ye Chen said to one of the youths, “Go up and tell them to come down the mountain; we won’t be going up.” Having finally reached the foot of the mountain, he really didn’t feel like climbing back up. Although there was some distance to cover to get around to the front of the mountain, it wouldn’t be too hard, and it was certainly better than climbing up to the peak and down again.

The youth nodded and said, “Don’t worry.”

The remaining dozen or so people followed Ye Chen through a small path towards their camp.

It took about two hours to get around, and just at that moment, Barbarian, leading a group of people, was also winding down from the mountaintop.

Ye Chen glanced at them, wanting to curse at whoever had been so careless, but then he noticed that Guo Yuyun was missing. He approached Barbarian and asked, “Where’s that girl?”

“Don’t know,” Barbarian responded, pretending to look around.

“What do you mean, don’t know? She was with you.”

A youth said, “She must be waiting for you on the mountain?”

“What do you mean, waiting at the top? I’ve already sent someone to tell them not to wait for us, to come down directly.” Ye Chen’s eyes turned towards the messenger.

The messenger said, “I did tell them.”

“If you told them, why didn’t the girl come down with you?” Ye Chen asked, puzzled.

The short one chimed in with a hint of doubt, “When he notified us, that girl might have been resting by the water pool, perhaps she didn’t hear.”

Ye Chen jumped up anxiously and exclaimed, “Then you should have told her.”

“I thought she knew.”

Ye Chen called out, telling them to wait, not to leave so quickly, and with a leap, he dashed toward the top of the mountain.

As Barbarian saw the chance slipping away behind him, he called urgently, “Hurry! Load our stuff onto the ship and get the boss to set sail.” He figured that Ye Chen’s Martial arts were too strong and that snatching the Wolf King’s Ring wouldn’t be easy, especially since Meng Xiuluo hadn’t given the nod yet. The only option was to abandon them on the island. Even with the Wolf King’s Ring, Ye Chen couldn’t help the people of the Demon Domain.

If the two of them wanted to leave the island, they would need wings, and even if they sprouted wings, it wasn’t certain they could fly out of the Dark Sea Territory.

The short one was overjoyed, giggling with delight, “It will take him at least four hours to find that girl.”

Worried about the plan being exposed, Barbarian hastily said, “Just make sure the boss doesn’t find out.” They scattered and began boarding the ship one after another.

In fact, a lot of their stuff had been brought aboard the night before.

Meng Xiuluo came over and, seeing Barbarian had returned, asked, “Nothing’s happened, right?”

“Nothing, everything’s normal. Let’s set off as soon as we can,” Barbarian said.

Meng Xiuluo looked around and asked, “Where’s cheap goods?”

“He and that little chick boarded the ship way before us,” Barbarian figured. As long as the boat left, Meng Xiuluo wouldn’t know until tonight or later that Ye Chen hadn’t boarded. With some effort, perhaps he could hide it for another two days, and even if Meng Xiuluo found out by then, there might not be much he could do.

“Then let’s board quickly, and don’t let our disciples get left behind,” Meng Xiuluo urged, feeling the urgency since the thick mist provided the perfect cover to leave, unsure when it might dissipate.

Barbarian, itching to set sail, hurriedly said, “Yeah, you get on the ship. I’ll take care of everything here.”

“All right, it’s in your hands.”

“You can count on me.”

The ship slowly moved away from the edge of the sea and through the woods, towards the dim expanse of the open ocean.

The short one approached Barbarian and said, “Boss, your move was really brilliant, getting rid of future trouble just like that.”
