Chapter 922: Chapter 922: Provoked
Peter Brown was still called to the office by Flora Nelson.
"Peter, your studies have shown significant improvement. If you keep it up, I believe you’ll be able to get into university," Flora immediately encouraged Peter when she saw him making efforts.
"Peter, have you not been fighting recently?" At this moment, a young teacher approached with a half-smile, looking at Peter.
At a glance, Peter knew this was head teacher Christopher Williams, who everyone knew was pursuing Flora.
Seeing that the other party didn’t take him seriously, Peter was too lazy to bother with him and simply ignored his words.
Initially wanting to show his presence around Flora, Christopher’s face suddenly darkened. He snorted and said to Flora, "Mr. Carter, everyone knows that your class is a poor one, and even the school doesn’t take it seriously. It doesn’t matter whether they study or not, as long as they don’t cause trouble."
"Mr. Williams, that’s not how it should be said. There are still some students in my class who want to learn. As long as they work hard, there is still a future," Flora replied.
"Hard work? Haha, it’s only been less than a semester, and I don’t believe that they can really improve. Forget it, you don’t need to worry about them. No one else wants to take over their class, so only you are willing to."
"Mr. Williams, I always believe that hard work can achieve success!"
"Mr. Carter, you teach English well. After leading this class, I will ask the school to partner with me in starting a new class. With my help, I believe we can achieve results."
Peter was well aware that Christopher’s class had several top students, and the school also regarded their class as a key one. The guy seemed to be somewhat proud and arrogant.
Chasing a beautiful woman shouldn’t ignore the existence of academic underdogs like him, right? Is it interesting to step on his class like this?
Now Peter also wanted to find something to do, so he said, "Mr. Williams, you’re looking down on our class’s students!"
When Christopher heard Peter talking to him like this, his face turned cold and he said, "Peter, I don’t know what you students are thinking. Just look at you - a student from the countryside who not only fails to study well, but also often gets into fights and causes trouble. Are you worthy of your parents?"
Peter actually agreed with this statement, as he had indeed gone too far in the past and didn’t want to argue.
Seeing that Peter didn’t argue, Christopher felt somewhat smug, thinking that there was nothing a student from the countryside could do besides being trampled on.
Then, recalling that Peter had always been one of the poor students in the class, he decided to lecture him in front of Flora to show off his own educational level.
"Peter, what future do you have? In a semester, what can you do? Given your current situation, you definitely can’t make it to university. Don’t even mention universities - you won’t even have a chance at a third-rate school. Nowadays, this is a money-driven society. Once you leave school without a good diploma, you won’t be able to get a good job and thus won’t make any money. At that time, what will your quality of life be like? You only have two paths to choose - either go back to the countryside or work in the city. But even if you work in the city, you’ll only find low-paying jobs. You’ll be nothing but a waste."
"Mr. Williams, how can you say that about Peter? As long as he works hard, I believe they all have a future!" Flora couldn’t stand it anymore and said this.
Christopher just laughed, "Look at him. Can he really make it to university? His family can’t even afford to pay for his education. You’re wasting your efforts on him."
Hearing this, Peter, who originally wanted to live a peaceful life, was truly angry. So many words could be said, but as a teacher, Christopher treated him like trash, which was unbearable.
"Mr. Williams, isn’t there a top student in your class? Taking a test is nothing - I can beat him with my eyes closed."
"What?"
The teachers in the office, who were originally watching the drama, were all startled and looked at Peter.
Christopher laughed furiously and said, "Mr. Carter, look! This is a student from your class! What a big mouth, wanting to be the top of the whole grade. He can’t even manage that without biting off more than he can chew. If he can really beat our student Theo Holmes, I’d cook fish on the palm of my hand!"
Flora also looked at Peter with a wry smile, never expecting Peter to say such things in front of so many teachers.
But Peter stared back at Christopher and said, "These are your words, don’t deny them later. I really want to see how you cook fish on your palm!"
Christopher never thought that a student would talk to him like this in front of so many teachers. Glancing at Flora, he started to hate Peter, as he had obviously made Christopher lose face in front of Flora today.
"Peter, there are so many teachers here. Tomorrow is the monthly exam. I want to see how many points you can score this time. There’s no need for you to beat Theo Holmes, as long as you can make it into the top 50 of the whole grade, I’ll admit you won."
"No need, I’ll just be the first." After finishing his words, he said to Flora, "Mr. Carter, I’m going to review my lessons."
Watching Peter stride out, the teachers in the office were all dumbfounded.
"Damn, Mr. Carter, your class really produces some talented people!"
"Hehe, Mr. Carter, your students are really good at bragging!"
"Mr. Williams, if he really becomes the first, can you really cook fish on your palm? Hahaha."
The teachers were very happy at this point.
Flora’s face was also very pale, as she did not expect this to happen. Glancing at Christopher, she left the office.
At this point, Christopher was also burning with anger. He said in a low voice, "This is outrageous! If this kid can’t make it to the top 50, I will teach him a lesson!"
After leaving the office, Peter shook his head. He knew he had been too impulsive, and there was no need for all of this.
However, he also knew his own mentality. Since he had said such things, he had to make them happen, or it would definitely affect his Cultivation practice.
Forget it, just aim for the first place!
Peter decided that since he would have to show his abilities eventually, he would do so now, believing it wouldn’t have too much of an impact.
Without entering the classroom, Peter turned around and left the school. He was now heading to the bookstore to acquire more knowledge. If he couldn’t manage to be first at the end, Peter himself would feel embarrassed.
