Chapter 344: Section 235: Everyone is a bridge to happiness for each other (4)_2

It was indeed an underground city from before the Great Destruction Era.

"Left side is safe," came the voice of Liu Jin at this moment.

Malin turned around, with Bippo peeking out from under the brim of his hat to help Malin watch his back, while Malin saw on the other side of the platform the spaces carved into the wall, which reminded him of shops.

"The ceiling is clean," Engma glanced over the ceiling, and was about to check the corridor entrance when a howl attracted everyone’s attention.

Liu Jin immediately raised his gun toward the corridor entrance, where Cohen, who was coming down, placed a Spirit Sensing Lamp—if any spirits appeared on the upper floor, it would emit a red light.

Then he ran down and placed another one on the platform.

Cassie came to the entrance of the corridor, pulled out an illumination stick, threw it in, and quickly retreated.

Engma hurried to the edge of the pit, extended the mirror in his hand, and swept a glance outside: "Outer wall is safe... Damn, it might be the monsters on the fourth floor rioting, according to the records, there are a few days each month when the deep spirits come up recklessly, ultimately dying here."

"So, collecting corpses is a skillful job?" Malin, with his gun raised, walked towards the corridor.

"Indeed, collecting corpses is a skillful job, Malin. I’m behind you," Liu Jin said, "Right, if you go down early and there happens to be a horror-level spirit still alive, the adventurer’s life might end there, but if you come too late, you won’t even get the soup. Anyway, there are always lucky and unlucky ones dying down there every month."

Malin stood at the door: "Liu Jin, cover my left side, Engma, watch the ceiling and follow me to the right, Cassie, keep an eye on the lamp, Cohen, lead Cassie."

"Okay." Once the four people responded, Malin burst into the horizontal corridor, with the incandescent light under the barrel of the shotgun starting to work, lifting the short shotgun barrel, illuminating the flesh and blood at the end of the corridor, which was a skinless humanoid creature walking on all fours, different from what Malin had seen before, its skull had been opened up, and it was empty: "Brainless ghoul! Right side!"

Having said that, Malin pulled the trigger, the hollow point bullet flew across the corridor, ultimately killing the undead spirit that was rushing towards him on the ground, the quicksilver bullet hitting its target effectively and destroying it.

"Multiple targets on the left!" Liu Jin’s shout caused Malin to press against Engma as he turned around: "Engma! Watch the right!"

"Got it! Safe! No, something’s coming! I see it! Single target! Brainless ghoul! Second... not a third or fourth one!" Engma yelled from behind Malin, who now had no time to pay attention as he brushed past Cohen, who had raised his gun, and stood beside Liu Jin, emptying three shotgun shells in one breath, then with a flick of the shotgun barrel, impaled the last brainless ghoul that was rushing past the firepower of Liu Jin’s small-caliber semi-automatic rifle with the quicksilver bayonette in the next second.

After crushing half its head with his foot, Malin turned around and saw that Cohen and Engma had already killed four, but there were still more than four brainless ghouls in the distance.

"Reloading! Damn it!" Cohen, like Liu Jin, used a small-caliber semi-automatic rifle and leaned against the wall of the corridor, while Engma manually reloaded and turned his head to look at Malin and the others: "Give us a hand."

So Malin hung the four-barrel shotgun’s sling on the hook on his shoulder, then pulled out the .50 caliber from his waist, and under the deafening sound of gunfire and the dumbfounded gaze of Liu Jin, the .50 caliber in Malin’s hand knocked down the four brainless ghouls rushing in front.

"Thanks!" Cohen replaced a magazine, raised his gun, and fired bullets into the body of the last brainless ghoul, finally pinning it to the ground.

"I always thought we were down here to fight spiders," Engma said, holding his .22 caliber water pistol, finally slung it over his back, then pulled out a revolver from his waist, a .44 caliber revolver: "I once heard a joke someone told, saying if your luck is bad, it doesn’t matter how big your gun is, now I want to say screw that, if you’re not well-armed, when your luck turns bad, you might not survive."

The five young guys laughed for a round, as usual, Cohen placed a lamp at the entrance, then proceeded—this batch of undead spirits was within the expectation of all, including Malin, and not many bullets were used.

In Malin’s view, this little skirmish shouldn’t dispel the hidden agendas in their hearts.

Luckily, he had brought enough gear.

With this thought, Malin and the others continued to move forward, and as they were about to approach the trap area, Malin, who was at the forefront, was contemplating how to turn hostile next when he suddenly felt his heartbeat and the electronic lights in the corridor flickered.

Liu Jin was the first to notice Malin had stopped moving: "Malin! What’s the situation?" He seemed a bit tense.

"They’re coming," Malin stopped, sensing his surroundings.

"Password! Is it raining outside today?" Liu Jin’s voice was off pitch.

"The buns in the shop sold out." Malin said, turning his body to look at the four lads: "Something’s coming."

Just as he finished speaking, the lights in the corridor that were still on suddenly went dark.
