The room fell into a heavy silence.

Li Mei couldn’t help but suppress a smirk internally.

This rude brat had dared to act boldly in front of the prideful and unpredictable old man? Bei Sangyun might have thought she was being clever, but her actions were more likely to enrage the old man further.

Lin Sunji’s face paled as she sought support, squeezing her mother’s hand. Li Mei returned the gesture, fully aware that the situation was spiraling out of control. If Bei Sangyun spoke, things wouldn’t look good for them.

"Father-in-law," Li Mei interjected cautiously, "I don’t mean to overstep, but that child could make up stories and present evidence that is entirely fabricated. How can we verify the truth of what she’s saying?"

"That’s up for me to decide," Old Master Lin responded coldly, shutting up Li Mei.

He refocused on Bei Sangyun, warning her, "Now, child. I’m not one to forgive those who lie to my face easily. You’d better be telling the truth if you know what’s good for you."

"Don’t worry, everything I say from now on is facts only." Bei Sangyun replied confidently. There was no point in lying. With the old man’s influence, he could investigate the truth with a snap of his fingers if he willed it.

"I am indeed the reason her knees are bruised. I kicked her to teach her a lesson. However, it’s clear that she was too dumb to learn anything." Bei Sangyun admitted, which once again left everyone stunned.

Lin Ginxian, who had been gaining confidence, stiffened. He stared at his daughter as if she had lost her mind.

Why on earth did she admit to that?!

The Fourth branch and Lin Sunji were also stunned by her.

In another scene, Fei Chuan was seen erasing the markings on his locker. Words like ’loser,’ ’the tyrant’s pet,’ ’coward,’ and other mocking words were written with a black marker. In another clip, he was eating in the cafeteria, and someone threw a pack of red juice at him, staining his uniform red.
