Standing Next To You
Chapter 135: Intense Stare

Chapter 135: Intense Stare

Fei Chuan was trying his best to focus on class, but the intense gaze of the person beside him was too hard to ignore. He turned to his right and met Bei Sangyun’s piercing stare.

"What is it?" he asked in annoyance.

Bei Sangyun was taken aback for being caught. "...What?"

"Why do you keep staring?"

"When did I stare at you?" Bei Sangyun retorted.

Fei Chuan narrowed his eyes at him. "Since yesterday, you..." Fei Chuan trailed off.

Ever since they returned to the room after practice for their school project yesterday, Bei Sangyun had been acting strangely.

She kept staring at him the whole day. If it weren’t for Richard trying to get Bei Sangyun’s attention, Fei Chuan would have snapped at her already.

Bei Sangyun was an eccentric one, and her unpredictable actions changed over time. He thought her habit of staring at him would disappear the next day.

Contrary to his expectations, Bei Sangyun’s actions became even more bizarre. Not only did she stare at him too obviously, catching the attention of the entire class, but every time he met her eyes, she would look away as if she were scalded.

Once he looked away, he would feel her gaze on him again. She might burn a hole in his face if this continued. He couldn’t stand this game of hers.

"Do you really want me to elaborate on it? I know you’re a strange person, but you’ve become even weirder. If there’s something you want to say to me, spill it. You’re not the type to hold it in anyway."

Bei Sangyun coughed embarrassedly. Was she too obvious? "I was just thinking about that script..."

Fei Chuan waited for the words she was going to say next, but Bei Sangyun was taking her sweet time. He sighed helplessly. "I told you we can change it if you want. I don’t mind."

"...Oh. Then can you entrust the rest of the script to me? I’d like to write the latter part."

Fei Chuan was stunned. He did not expect she would take the initiative to cooperate. Sometimes he forgot that Bei Sangyun was a model student because of how lazy she had become nowadays.

"You can do what you want," he acceded.

"Great. But... is it okay to present the latter part on the day of the presentation? It will be embarrassing for me to repeat it again to you." Bei Sangyun awkwardly added.

Fei Chuan: "?"

They were just going to present a project; why would practicing be embarrassing?

"Whatever," Fei Chuan replied. It was just a project anyway.

Bei Sangyun seemed satisfied. Fei Chuan inwardly sighed in relief. Since her concern was answered now, he could finally relax without those intense eyes.

But later on, those eyes turned to him again. Even when he was eating, those eyes that held complicated gaze never stopped.

Fei Chuan: "...."

Fei Chuan could not hold it in and finally snapped at Bei Sangyun, "Is there something else you want to tell me?"

Bei Sangyun tilted her head in confusion. "What should I tell you?"

Fei Chuan: "...."

He took a deep breath to expand his patience. After a while, he seemed to realize what she wanted. He opened the container on his side, took one cookie, and passed it to her. "This is considered feeding, right?"

Bei Sangyun did not expect this delight. She happily accepted the cookie. This was the cookie that was held by those miraculous hands!

"You should feed it to me," Bei Sangyun teased.

"Should I just take it back?" Fei Chuan threatened.

Bei Sangyun hurriedly took a bite. "I am already eating."

The burst of sweetness filled her mouth, and Bei Sangyun was distracted by the food. She happily ate the cookie.

This gave Fei Chuan a break from her intense staring.

"I was told you would be here. Fortunately, I found you this time." Richard appeared behind Bei Sangyun.

He took a seat beside her. "I wanted to join you for lunch yesterday, but Lin Sunji was very eager to invite me out. Can I join you this time?"

Richard directed the question only to Bei Sangyun.

Fei Chuan, who was eating, halted. He glanced at Richard with narrowed eyes. This man treated him like air again. Well, he never cared. But his interruption to his lunch was quite annoying.

Bei Sangyun moved away from Richard as if he were a disgusting leech. "I am in the middle of lunch with someone."

Richard was coldly rejected again, but he still maintained his friendly smile. "It’s fine. I’ll just join you at this table. I wanted to try cafeteria food." As soon as his words fell, a kitchen staff came to deliver his food tray.

Richard accepted and put his tray on the table, intending to join the two in their lunch.

Everyone in the cafeteria lowered their voices as their attention focused on the table at the farthest corner. After all, the tyrant, the target, and the famous foreign exchange student were at one table.

Their table was too eye-catching. Everyone was guessing that a drama might happen at any moment.

Bei Sangyun’s face turned cold, while Fei Chuan put down his fork.

Richard seemed to not care about the atmosphere at the table and initiated a conversation with Bei Sangyun, "Right. Grandpa Lin talked to me yesterday. He said that if I have trouble at school, I should come to you. Your school is massive, and I still got lost sometimes. Can you tour me around later?"

Bei Sangyun suddenly laughed. Look at this bastard; he was even bringing that old man into this conversation. Since they could not manipulate her through her father, they tried to do it using that old bastard?

Did they think she would follow them because they mentioned the old man?

Bei Sangyun laughed coldly. The tricks they used in the past won’t work ever again.

"Really? Grandfather seems to have a lot of free time on his hands if he has time for other grandchildren than his own. Well, I am not the only grandchild he has in this school. You can look for the others to help you out with your ’troubles,’" Bei Sangyun coldly replied.
