Chapter 115: The tyrant has a secret crush on the target!

On the eighth year since ’her’ death...

The man lit a cigar and blew smoke over a grave. His expression was haughty, his tone arrogant, but the muddled mess in his eyes was deeper compared to the previous year.

"You’re rotting well, I suppose?" His voice was somewhat rough as he exhaled a puff of smoke.

"Aren’t you getting bored of staying there? In all these past years, I’ve been your only visitor. You must be feeling quite lonely." The man smirked. "This ending suits you well."

A harsh wind blew, tousling his hair.

"Are you angry? You should be. After reaching the pinnacle, what have you become? You’ve ended up as bones, all alone...." The man gritted his teeth. He tossed his cigarette butt on the ground and crushed it with force.

As if putting out the fire was not enough, he started stomping on the ground.

"...You act so mighty and proud, but you’re just as broken as me!"

The man’s yell echoed through the desolate graveyard.

He slumped to the ground, defeated.

After a long silence, he ruffled his hair as he muttered, "...I finally found your maid... She told me about your illness. I never knew you had been enduring it for years..."

The man’s eyes turned red. "You acted so tough and arrogant, as if the whole world was beneath your feet. How could you expect people to know what you were going through? How could you expect me to know? I had no idea all along..." The man’s voice quivered.

His pair of red eyes gazed at the grave with a mix of indignation, anger, and sorrow. "I saw your final moments... you had become a mere skeleton... Is that why you never allowed anyone to see you?"

The man looked up at the sky, his voice barely audible. "You were always so full of spirit as if no one could bring you down... So how... how did you end up like that?"

A prolonged silence ensued.

The man then began to laugh. "...I thought between the two of us, I would be the one to meet that fate. I never expected it to be you. And you left so early... I truly hate you..."

.....

Fei Chuan woke up dazed and instinctively wiped the corners of his eyes. There again he was, crying in his sleep.

Fei Chuan frowned.

Should he consult a psychiatrist to check on his mental health? These dreams wouldn’t stop. They had no connection to his past nor this person has any relation to him. So why did these dreams continue to haunt him?

Or could it be... was he being haunted by a ghost?

Fei Chuan looked around his room, feeling spooky. Could it be that the grieving man was a vengeful spirit who once resided here?

’Smack!’

Fei Chuan slapped his forehead. There was no way that could be true. The Fei mansion had been here for ages. There was no grieving man here or ghosts.

He washed up and changed into his uniform.

Grandma Pei handed him a pack of cookies again on his way out.

"Don’t forget to give some to Little Sangyun."

Fei Chuan could only nod before leaving.

He leaned on the car’s window, his mind still pondering that dream.

He couldn’t comprehend the grieving man. He was clearly broken and sad because of the person in the grave. But why was his attitude towards that person’s grave so conflicted? He cursed a lot at the grave but would cry before leaving.

Was that person mentally unstable? Or did that person’s parting make him crazy?

Fei Chuan sighed. There was no use in mulling over that. But thanks to this dream, he learned something new today. The mysterious person on the grave had died due to an illness... and at a young age at that.

Dying young and leaving people behind to the point they become crazy, their story was quite tragic.

The scenery on the window changed.

Fei Chuan sighed and took out his phone. He better shake off this gloominess in his head.

His phone lit up, and his wallpaper appeared.

A smile crept onto Fei Chuan’s lips.

On the screen was Bei Sangyun’s sleeping face, with panda eyes and vampire fangs. He had taken this photo before she woke up.

This was his masterpiece. Seeing it put him in a good mood. That’s why he had set it as his wallpaper, so he could appreciate it anytime.

He had finally managed to get back at her.

"Young Master, we are here."

Fei Chuan grabbed his bag, opened the car door, and replied with a light smile.

"Thanks for driving, Driver Wang."

Driver Wang glanced back at him, a bit surprised.

Fei Chuan got out of the car and headed towards the school gate.

As he took a few steps, a car parked on the roadside near the school gate opened its door.

Bei Sangyun stepped out of the car and squinted her eyes at him.

Fei Chuan’s steps paused.

Oops.

She’s here.

She must have figured it out by now, right?

Should he make a run for it?

Fei Chuan picked up his pace, but Bei Sangyun chased after him. "Why are you in such a hurry, Fei Chuan? Running away from your crime?"

Fei Chuan knew there was no point in running, so he slowed down and shrugged. "And what crime is that exactly?"

Bei Sangyun’s lips twitched. This guy hadn’t changed at all. He was still shamelessly pretending to be innocent.

Bei Sangyun harrumphed and didn’t press the matter further. Fei Chuan had experienced worse because of her. She would let this one slide, but that didn’t mean she would completely let it go.

Fei Chuan expected she would demand some insane compensation or get back at him. But Bei Sangyun just yawned and did not pursue the matter any further.

The two walked side by side in comfortable silence.

The students around them couldn’t help but look, with some sneaking pictures of them.

"...Are they really dating?" a hushed voice on Fei Chuan’s side commented.

"I think so. Many say it’s the target who drew on the tyrant’s face. If the target can do that to the tyrant’s face and still in one piece, it means that the tyrant did not go wild on him. Look, they are still walking together, isn’t that an obvious hint that they are dating?"

Fei Chuan’s steps paused. His eyes turned wide, filled with horror.

What kind of conclusion was that?! Had that kind of gossip already spread around the school?

"Which poll did you vote on? I voted on ’the tyrant has a secret crush on the target’!"

Fei Chuan’s mouth fell open. He turned to the students who were gossiping, he had a terrible look on his face.

Who made such an absurd poll?!

"Kyak!" The students were startled by his sudden gaze. "We’re sorry! We didn’t mean to gossip!" They quickly ran away.

"What happened?" Bei Sangyun paused as well. She had the ability to filter out unnecessary noise around her, so she hadn’t heard what those students were gossiping about.

She looked at the students who ran away after being stared at by Fei Chuan. "Wow, look at them run. You scared the wits out of them."

Fei Chuan turned back to Bei Sangyun. They were standing close to each other. He remembered what the students had said. His ears turned red.

He quickly took two steps back to maintain some distance from her.

"Nothing. I’ll head to the classroom first." Then he hurriedly ran away from Bei Sangyun.
