Chapter 984: Chapter 989: Wait for Me
Yang Yi has privileges; he can leave this place and not have to put up with Hegelhaus’s crap anymore, or he could ask Walter to give him a different instructor, but the thing is, Yang Yi has never had to tolerate this kind of treatment before.
But as for making Hegelhaus wait, and thinking about getting revenge right now, that’s absolutely impossible.
So, after dropping a harsh line, Yang Yi continued to run towards his own residence.
"Hey, Reggie, did this guy offend our chief?"
The person whispering spoke softly. Reggie hesitated for a moment, then just shook his head before whispering back, "Chief Hegelhaus has decided to personally take on his training because... because he’s a genius."
"A genius? Even if he’s a genius, that doesn’t mean the chief should personally teach him, right?"
Reggie shrugged and said, "I don’t know."
Hegelhaus had already disembarked from the plane, so people didn’t dare to talk anymore. They handed their helmets to ground crews. Hegelhaus, with an icy expression, said, "That kid won’t dare to come back. Make sure to find him and get the helmet back. Let’s go."
Hegelhaus went back to his office, Yang Yi ran back to his room, and Reggie had to go find Yang Yi to retrieve the flight helmet.
Reggie knocked on Yang Yi’s door, then heard someone inside panting, "Come in."
Reggie entered and found Yang Yi in the bathroom, still hugging the toilet bowl; up to this moment, he still had the flight helmet on his head.
Reggie sighed, then said in a deep voice, "Are you okay?"
"Not okay, I’m really not feeling well, ugh..."
Reggie shrugged, then turned his head away and said, "I’m not sure if I should be congratulating you. You’re the person who’s passed the written test the fastest at this training base, setting a record. The previous fastest took eleven days. If you truly came in with zero experience, well, the last time someone learned to pilot two types of aircraft, it took them a week to pass the helicopter written test, and four days to pass for the fixed-wing, so if you really have no foundation, then you’ve set a record, and I think it’s going to be hard to beat."
"Really, ugh..."
"You also set another record, uh, it’s been a long time since Chief Hegelhaus personally took someone as his student, but that’s not the point. The point is you set the record for being taken up into the air the fastest, and set another record for the most methods Chief Hegelhaus has used... to teach you a lesson."
"Should I feel honored? Ugh, f*ck!"
"Uh, there’s actually one more record; you’re the first person to throw up only after getting off Mr. Hegelhaus’s plane. Really, you’re the first one. We are all surprised and admire you, especially your courage, because in the end, you challenged Chief Hegelhaus, telling him to wait. We don’t know what for, but we feel it’s time for you to leave."
Sighing, Reggie helplessly said, "I know you must have some background to be inserted halfway through, which is normal, but I hope you won’t trouble Chief Hegelhaus. He’s a good guy, besides, he is doing this for your own good."
"For my good? Ha, is it really for my good, buddy? Thanks for the advice, but I really don’t understand what I did to offend him. Did I do something wrong?"
Reggie spread his hands and said in a low voice, "I came to collect the helmet. If you’re done throwing up, please hand it back to me."
Amid the sound of flushing, a helmet was placed into Reggie’s arms. Then Yang Yi ran to a tap to wash his face and rinse his mouth, staggering as he left the bathroom.
Reggie didn’t leave; he said quietly, "So... you won’t continue with the training?"
Yang Yi lay on his bed, panting heavily, and said, "Do you think I’m defeated? Scared? No! Buddy, this level isn’t enough to beat me. Tell Hegelhaus... Instructor, I just need to learn normally. If he’s scared of me, then let him play his tricks. Otherwise, let him teach me the proper process. I’ll show him what real genius is, f*ck!"
After finishing, Yang Yi weakly waved and said, "Sorry, that last part, make sure not to tell him."
Reggie looked a bit surprised and said, "You want to continue? Okay, uh, I’ll pass the message, at least the first part."
Yang Yi weakly said, "I don’t even know what functions the instruments in the plane have. At least give me a manual, a flight manual. I have to know how to get the plane up in the air. Please tell my instructor, as long as he dares to teach seriously, really teach me, I’ll show him how fast an ace pilot can emerge. Also, I’ll reiterate, I have no background at all! Am I wrong to be a genius?"
Reggie shrugged and said, "I’ll convey that, and I have to tell the chief you’ve decided to continue training, uh, I admire your courage, goodbye."
Reggie left, and Yang Yi struggled to get up, still feeling dizzy. He has never been carsick, but he knew this feeling of airsickness was many times worse.
After a drink of water and throwing up for a while, Yang Yi had just climbed into bed to rest when Reggie returned.
"This is the T-6A training aircraft manual, you might want to take a look. Chief Hegelhaus said he’ll take you to the simulator himself tomorrow. Hmm, since you’re a genius, tomorrow shouldn’t be too early, right? Once you pass the simulator assessment, you’ll go into the real aircraft. That’s it, good luck, buddy."
Reggie placed a thick manual down, not saying much else, then left.
Yang Yi struggled to get up and looked at the manual, but found he couldn’t concentrate at all.
It was still early, barely morning. Yang Yi had decided; he needed to rest until his head didn’t feel so awful, then he’d start looking at the manual.
After enduring for a while, Yang Yi fell into a deep sleep, only to be awakened at noon when someone came to deliver lunch.
After having slept, Yang Yi felt a lot better. Although his stomach was still upset, it wasn’t bad enough to stop him from having lunch. The only problem was that after eating, his head still felt heavy and foggy.
He can’t go on like this, Yang Yi thought, feeling like he needed to get some exercise to adjust his condition.
Thinking it over, Yang Yi decided it would be a good idea to join a combat training class. He was never sure about his fighting level. According to Zhang Yong, he was an expert, but CIA’s combat training was systematic and comprehensive, so why not take this opportunity to improve?
After deciding what to do next, Yang Yi picked up the phone and said weakly, "Hello, I would like to enroll in the combat training class, any class that would let me join right now would do. I desperately need some activity, thank you."
