Chapter 976: Chapter 981: Wave Goodbye
The security room was in chaos, and since security personnel in the United States are authorized to carry firearms, before everyone had drawn their guns, Yang Yi pulled out his ID.
"Don’t move. I suspect your captain is colluding with international terrorists and planning a terrorist attack."
He only flashed the cover of his ID without opening it. Yang Yi then put away his ID and slowly said, "CIA. I don’t have law enforcement authority, but I will notify the local police to arrest him. If any of you are his accomplices, you can draw your guns now. Otherwise, step back. Anyone wants to help him? Please step forward."
Several security guards exchanged glances, looking at each other before beginning to step back one after another.
"What are you talking about? You’re spouting nonsense! I didn’t..."
Yang Yi looked at the captain and then smiled, "I know you didn’t, but I just want to abuse my power. I’m going to have the police take you away and pin a random case on you. Then let the FBI investigate you for six months. Even if they prove that you have no connection with any terrorist organizations, it would only happen six months later. You will lose your job, and you’ll become a person under close watch by the police and FBI. Hmm, any objections?"
The captain kept retreating, covering his nose, his face filled with panic. "You can’t do this. Why would you do this?"
Yang Yi shrugged, "You upset my friend, so I will utterly ruin you. Is this reason enough? If not, well, because I can and you can’t resist. Is that reason enough?"
The captain fell silent. What more could he say?
Yang Yi looked at Clint. "Should we beat him up a bit more?"
Clint sighed, "No need. I think it’s enough."
Yang Yi scanned the crowd and then smiled, "Clint just wanted to vent, but if any of you have any ideas, I can escalate this situation and utterly destroy one of you. Now, I think Clint and I are going to leave. Anyone objects?"
Yang Yi looked at the captain. "Any objections?"
The captain immediately shook his head.
Yang Yi shrugged, "If this is the end of the matter, you’re lucky. Otherwise, I’ll let you know what abusing power really means. I hope you’re smart enough to understand. Goodbye."
Yang Yi and Clint left and got back into the car. After starting the car, Clint looked at Yang Yi.
"Anything you want to say?"
Clint thought for a moment, then shook his head.
On the way back, Clint seemed preoccupied, lacking his usual excitement, and appeared to be deep in thought.
Eventually, Yang Yi spoke first.
"You did what you wanted to tonight, and that’s enough. I see you have some thoughts, and I must remind you that after tonight, you should go back to your routine life."
Clint spoke softly, "But I don’t want to go back to my former life. I don’t want to live the second half of my life insignificantly. I want to know if you can help me live the life you lead. I don’t expect to be as rich as you or to do whatever I want like you, but I really don’t want to scramble for a living anymore."
Yang Yi shook his head, "You think what you encountered today is more exaggerated than in the movies. You think I can do whatever I want, but you don’t know what I carry on my shoulders. I just want to let you know, all of this comes at a cost, and it’s a cost you can’t afford. Alright, stop the car."
Clint slowed the car, confused, "What are you doing?"
Yang Yi smiled, "Don’t be delusional. Don’t think you can be like me. Being an ordinary person struggling to make a living isn’t that bad. You need to understand one thing: your ordinary life is also our luxury. I won’t be coming over for dinner at your house. Let’s part ways here. Goodbye."
Clint exclaimed loudly in the car: "You’re leaving?"
"Yes, if you encounter anything you can’t handle, don’t contact me again. If you run into some serious trouble and need my help... sorry, I probably won’t be able to assist you in the future. Maybe we’ll meet again, maybe not. Just wanted you to know, it was nice knowing you."
Yang Yi patted the roof of Clint’s car and smiled, "Go home. Consider everything that happened today as just a dream. Your family is waiting for you. Goodbye."
Yang Yi turned away suavely while Clint got out of the car, watching his figure in a daze.
Repaying a debt was just that, and Yang Yi did not want Clint to enter his world. If he had made him do so, it would not be repaying a debt but rather harming Clint.
Yang Yi needed to find some new associates, to form a team outside of the Organization of Water, but this team was just like a gecko’s tail, meant to cover for him and facilitate his work but could be discarded at any critical moment.
Thus, Yang Yi would not ask Clint to do anything for him. He did not want to owe Clint anything more, nor feel any guilt towards him. Primarily, he could not treat Clint as a tail that could be discarded anytime, so this stop was appropriate.
As Yang Yi walked away, he soon regretted it because he realized how secluded the area was; it was impossible to even hail a cab.
However, fortunate for him, having a wealth of skills, stealing a car was not only easy for Yang Yi but also carried no sense of guilt.
Upon acquiring a_car, Yang Yi drove to the downtown area, bought a new phone and a SIM card, and made a call.
"Hi, Anna."
"How’s the plan progressing?"
Yang Yi smiled, "Very well, I succeeded, but now I feel I need a reliable contact, as it’s quite inconvenient for me to do anything and especially to stay in touch."
Anna Stakina spoke softly, "Understood. Who do you think would be suitable?"
"I haven’t decided yet. You choose for jetzt. Perhaps I’ll find someone suitable myself. There’s no rush on this. How are things on your side?"
Anna Stakina responded gravely, "We’ve started taking over those companies. We’ve secured three companies so far, with Steve as the CEO, completing the legal processes without any obstacles."
"Good. Check with Jethro to see how things are on his end. I’ll be moving against Nicholas soon, so let him prepare to coordinate. Once I have a suitable contact person, I’ll be able to reach him anytime, so tell him not to act yet."
"Understood. The contact must be one of ours, someone we can absolutely trust. Your idea of not bringing anyone with you isn’t very realistic."
Yang Yi sighed, "I’ll keep looking. Notify Chris that he can soon come to the United States. Alright, I haven’t found a reliable means of communication yet, so I can’t talk for long. If there’s any issue, post on Facebook, and I’ll contact you after seeing it. That’s it for now, goodbye."
