Chapter 82 - 81 Suicide
Chapter 82: Chapter 81 Suicide
Yang Yi killed Boxing King, not that Boxing King killed Yang Yi.
Logically speaking, Boxing King had an absolute advantage, so was it a miracle that Yang Yi survived?
This was no miracle.
Boxing King had strength and speed, as well as a powerful resistance to being hit.
Yang Yi only had a good brain to rely on.
If Boxing King and Yang Yi had come into conflict, instead of sending his newly-recruited underlings with knives to stab Yang Yi and had personally taken action, he could have finished off Yang Yi with just a few punches. But at that time, it was just a minor conflict, and of course, it wasn’t yet time for Boxing King to step in.
If in the bathroom, Boxing King hadn’t tried to sodomize Yang Yi, hadn’t let his subordinates capture Yang Yi resulting in becoming completely off guard, but had approached alone and used his fists, then he could have crushed Yang Yi.
Yang Yi lacked immense strength or agile footwork, but he had a good brain, he couldn’t make himself as strong as Boxing King, but he could use various available methods to reduce the advantages of Boxing King and increase his own.
So, of course, all of this was part of Yang Yi’s plan, the best result he’d schemed for a long time, if that fatal strike to Boxing King’s neck hadn’t worked, then the one to die would surely have been him.
But he succeeded, no matter how great the chances of success before making that move were, once successful, it was a hundred percent.
Even the brain of a genius, once hit by a punch, would turn into mush, but since Boxing King hadn’t used his advantage, his death was stifling, but certainly not unjust.
Yang Yi quietly looked at the corpse of Boxing King for a while, then he moved towards Boxing King and bent down to check his pulse.
Having confirmed that Boxing King was dead, Yang Yi breathed a sigh of relief, turned around, and walked to the sink in the cell.
He turned on the tap, washed the homemade hammerhead under the water, making sure to clean off all the hot sauce, and then Yang Yi turned back to pick up the half-piece of the triangular spike from the ground and started rinsing it under the tap as well.
After cleaning the handle of the triangular spike that was left, Yang Yi took off his shirt, used the fabric to hold the handle of the spike, and walked towards the corpse of Boxing King.
The triangular spike was still in the wound, clogging up the blood that should have spurted out, with only a small amount of blood having flowed out.
Yang Yi moved Boxing King’s hand away, pried the fingers open, placed the handle of the triangular spike in Boxing King’s hand, and then closed his fingers around it.
Looking at the neck of Boxing King, Yang Yi reached out, pulled the half-extracted triangular spike out, and pushed it back in again.
He found the small knife that Boxing King had dropped on the ground, wiped it, and then Yang Yi put the small knife in his pocket.
Then, Yang Yi began to carefully wipe off the hot sauce from Boxing King’s face with his shirt.
There wasn’t much hot sauce on Boxing King’s face to begin with, most of it was on his neck and shoulders. Yang Yi carefully avoided the bloody areas and cleaned up as much of the sauce as possible from Boxing King’s body with his shirt, then rinsed the shirt thoroughly under the tap.
After washing the shirt completely clean and wringing it out, he draped it over the bedpost. Yang Yi then carefully checked again, nodded to himself after confirming that any remaining traces were beyond his ability to clean, stretched lazily, and lay down on the bed.
Yang Yi really wanted to sleep, he was worried that in the coming days he wouldn’t have the chance to get a good sleep, especially if he were to be thrown into solitary confinement. Though undisturbed there, it truly was not a good place to sleep.
If he really wanted to sleep, Yang Yi could indeed sleep until dawn, but after lying with his eyes closed for only a short while, he felt that he still shouldn’t be lazy.
Feeling like someone who must get up to work before dawn, Yang Yi reluctantly crawled out of bed, spread out his bedding on the upper bunk, and then lazily walked to the cell door. Suddenly, he shouted, "Someone help, there’s been a suicide!"
The guards surely weren’t too far away, and as soon as Yang Yi shouted, a guard immediately ran to the cell door.
Seeing Yang Yi leaning against the iron bars, the guard’s eyes went wide.
"What... is it you?"
Yang Yi smiled, then he said to the guard, "Surprised? Oh, my cellmate has committed suicide. Please take care of his body, guard."
After giving Yang Yi a few more glances, the guard took a breath and then urgently spoke into the walkie-talkie, "There’s been an inmate suicide."
Yang Yi felt that he couldn’t escape punishment, but he had to try and push the cause of the Boxing King’s death toward suicide. Even if everyone knew the Boxing King died in a cage fight, at his own hands, it was still worth trying to see if it would work.
Generally speaking, the one who dies in a cage fight is indeed totally defeated, but the survivor also invariably pays a dire price. For instance, if the two combatants are evenly matched, the survivor usually gets injured, sometimes even severely. After killing the opponent, he might not live much longer himself. Such outcomes aren’t common but are perfectly normal.
Moreover, killing someone in prison will definitely lead to punishment. The reason heavy offenders frequently engage in cage fights is that they’re already serving life sentences; killing another person just adds a few more years to their hundred-year sentence, and there’s no hope of leaving prison alive regardless.
Whereas light offenders have the chance to be released, but killing another person would convert their sentence to life imprisonment, so generally no one dares commit such a serious crime, which naturally results in fewer cage fights.
Those who survive cage fights can’t wait to let the whole world know they are the victors, no matter if they are injured or unscathed. They always eagerly flaunt their achievement of killing their adversary.
But if one could disguise the death in a cage fight as a suicide, and if the prison authorities believed this story, then wouldn’t that mean avoiding any repercussions?
Many people get their sentences extended after winning cage fights because they can’t be bothered to tamper with the crime scene. So, Yang Yi was willing to spend some time staging the scene. He didn’t know what the outcome would be, but if he created a perfect scene of suicide instead of homicide, then maybe, just perhaps, the prison management might also be willing to attribute the cause of death to suicide.
Several guards arrived, and they began to take photographs, while Yang Yi was escorted out of the cell by one of them.
Only one person could leave alive, and since Yang Yi was the one who walked out, it meant that the Boxing King must be the one who was dead.
The lights were still on, and as Yang Yi walked by each cell with a smile on his face, the inmates looked at him as if they had seen a ghost, until one of them shouted.
"I won! Haha, I won!"
Following the exuberant shout, an inmate called out desperately to Yang Yi, "You actually killed the Boxing King? You motherf***er actually managed to kill the Boxing King! Hahaha! Ten to one odds!"
Looking at the ecstatic inmate, Yang Yi suddenly said, "Hey, asshole, shut up and listen to me. I didn’t do anything, the Boxing King just killed himself, got it? This has nothing to do with me, understand, you idiot!"
