Three days had passed, and Brian was not in a hurry, but Jethro was.

Because Deyo had sent another person to Ukraine.

It goes without saying how tumultuous the Deyo Group was; Deyo was like an arrow pulled to its breaking point, and had to shoot, furthermore taking a desperate gamble. He had to utterly defeat Big Ivan, otherwise, it would be his own demise. Thus, Deyo had pushed all his available resources and manpower into the fray.

However, Jethro was the one suffering from Deyo’s desperate gamble.

Yang Yi did not directly go to see Jethro; he first met with Brian.

Buried in the sofa, Brian seemed somewhat weary.

"Yesterday a guy named Corkdor came, sent by Deyo, hence there has been a change in the situation."

Once Brian sat up straight from the sofa, he said gravely, "It’s been three days with not a trace of Big Ivan. Of course, this was anticipated. Big Ivan is unlikely to appear anytime soon, but as long as Deyo’s men are still here, he will definitely make an appearance."

Yang Yi nodded and said, "I haven’t met Jethro yet. After I see him, I should be able to gather more information."

Brian let out a sigh and said, "The current situation is complex, yet also simple. It all comes down to who will be in charge here. If Corkdor takes the power that belongs to Jethro and Ferdinand, then we focus on Corkdor. Big Ivan would definitely need to take him out. However, Corkdor just arrived yesterday and has not yet made any moves. So, we need a bit more time to see how he reacts."

Yang Yi smiled and said, "Exactly. To use a Huaxia idiom, it’s like ’waiting for the rabbit by the tree stump.’ Whether it’s Ferdinand or Corkdor, they are the tree, and Big Ivan is certainly the rabbit we are waiting for."

Brian chuckled and said, "Go see Jethro. Maybe there’s some new progress now."

Yang Yi had returned only with his equipment of course he needed to see Jethro.

Jethro looked quite frazzled.

Upon seeing Yang Yi, Jethro cut straight to the chase, saying without any nonsense, "There’s a new development now. Corkdor has arrived; your people must have informed you."

"Yes, they told me."

Jethro let out a sigh and said, "Deyo has ordered me and Ferdinand to fully cooperate with Corkdor, giving him whatever he wants."

Yang Yi frowned because what Jethro said was not good news. Giving Corkdor everything meant Jethro was nothing but a figurehead.

"Corkdor arrived yesterday, but he hasn’t told me or Ferdinand what he wants us to do."

A helpless Jethro waved his hand and said, "So I don’t know if I’m about to be sent home."

Going full circle, the situation was back to square one. Both Brian and Jethro had only offered empty words, because nobody knew what would happen next.

Looking at the relatively calm Yang Yi, Jethro gave a bitter smile and then said solemnly, "So, your plan might have to be canceled. I don’t think Deyo will tolerate me staying here any longer because so far, I have accomplished almost nothing."

Yang Yi replied without hesitation, "How about taking out Corkdor?"

Jethro said gravely, "It’s not impossible. Only, Corkdor has not contacted me at all since his arrival. He is probably guarding against Ferdinand and me teaming up to take him out. So the problem is, Corkdor has not reached out to me yet. I don’t know where he is or what he’s doing."

Yang Yi said earnestly, "Then we find him and strike first, seizing the chance to eliminate him directly. I think, perhaps he is assessing the situation. When he feels it’s time to seize your power, he’ll definitely have to contact you."

Jethro sighed, "I don’t know what Ferdinand means, but I feel that Ferdinand doesn’t have the courage to cooperate with me to take down Corkdor, because all the power he holds ultimately comes from Deyo, and he doesn’t have the ability to make a move against Corkdor. And as for me, unless Corkdor intends to do me in, I’m not planning to do him in, because doing so would mean betraying Deyo."

Jethro was hesitating. He wanted to take down Corkdor, but he did not want or dare to betray Deyo, and that’s why his words seemed self-contradictory, saying in one breath that it’s not impossible to take down Corkdor, and in the next breath that he did not want to do so.

Just then, Jethro’s phone rang.

Looking at his phone on a table to the side, Jethro zoned out for a moment before Boyata went over and picked up the phone.

After looking at it, Boyata said with surprise, "It’s Corkdor calling, and this number is the one Deyo told us."

Jethro waved his hand and said, "Answer it!"

Boya picked up the phone, but instead of speaking himself, he handed it over to Jethro.

Taking the phone, Jethro said gravely, "Hello."

After a greeting, Jethro fell silent and soon looked surprised. After a moment of thought, he said, "Okay, we can meet this afternoon. I’ll be waiting for you."

After hanging up, Jethro took a deep breath and said, bewildered, "What does Corkdor want?"

Boya asked in a low voice, "Has something happened?"

After glancing at Boya, Jethro said with confusion, "Corkdor says he wants to meet me and Ferdinand."

Boya, looking anxious, said, "Where? He’s not planning to make a move against you, is he?"

Jethro shook his head and bitter-smiled, "No, Corkdor wants to come here to meet me, and he said he would only bring two bodyguards. He’s showing that he doesn’t want us to be enemies, but what on earth is he up to?"

Yang Yi shrugged, "We’ll know once we’ve met."

Jethro sighed, "Yeah, we’ll know once we’ve met. The meeting is at three this afternoon; it’s already two now. Robot, call in your brothers. As long as Corkdor doesn’t come with a big gang, it means he really wants to talk."

"Are we meeting here?"

"Right here, I don’t feel safe going anywhere else."

"Alright, whatever happens, at least we won’t be at a disadvantage here."

After speaking, Yang Yi picked up the walkie-talkie and said, "Guys, get ready for a fight and gather here. We’re going to have a guest."

Pointing at Yang Yi, Jethro said, "Be careful. Just hide well and don’t let Corkdor find out."

"Of course. Can I come with you to meet Corkdor?"

Without a second thought, Jethro replied, "You can. Corkdor is only bringing two bodyguards, so I’ll also bring just two. Boyata, get a room ready for the meeting. Robot, bring a capable brother to accompany me. Hmm, there shouldn’t be any problems during the meeting, but I really don’t know what Corkdor is up to."

Rubbing his head with a pained expression, Jethro gave Yang Yi a wry smile, "Having a boss who’s both paranoid and making a last-ditch effort is really not a good thing. It’s so hard to guess what he really wants!"
