Chapter 637: Chapter 644: Don’t Be Silly
How could someone become an elite in an industry and be a fool at the same time?
And how could Norbert, pegged as a rising star on Finance Street, be slow to react? Thus, as soon as Anton uttered those words, Norbert chose the path of self-preservation without hesitation.
Anton was unequivocal. He pointed to Heidi and said in a deep voice, "Kill her."
Norbert hesitated, then looked at Anton with an incredulous tone, "Kill her?"
"Yes."
Norbert glanced at Heidi, then shook his head and said, "No, no, I can’t do that."
Anton spread his hands and said, "It’s either her or you. Aren’t you going to reconsider?"
Sweat covered Norbert’s forehead. He looked at Heidi, who was so frightened she couldn’t make a sound, and said with a trembling voice, "I can’t do it."
With a benevolent expression, Anton coaxed, "She betrayed you. Even if you kill her, you don’t have to feel guilty. She’s seen everything. If you don’t kill her, then you’re finished."
Norbert took a couple of steps back and said, "No, I can’t, I can’t kill her..."
Anton sighed and then spoke softly, "You’ve always known Heidi doesn’t like you, right? She likes your money. Maybe you’re not particularly wealthy now, but you’re definitely going to be a celebrity in the financial world, which means you’re going to be very wealthy. But you’re so ugly. Look at yourself; you really are ugly. Even if you’re in an expensive suit and shoes worth thousands of Euros, you’re still ugly. First off, you’re fat, and then you... Forget it, you really are ugly. How can’t you see why your girlfriend approached you?"
After a pause, Anton pointed at Heidi and said, "You’re still in the honeymoon phase, and she couldn’t wait to find other men. So she just sees you as a long-term investment. Can’t you see that?"
Heidi said with a trembling voice, "No, no, Norbert, it’s not like that..."
Norbert just shivered, but Anton shrugged and said, "Norbert, admit it. You’re just not good at winning a woman’s favor. She doesn’t fancy you at all. See that muscular guy? He’s the type your girlfriend likes. Want to know how long they’ve been carrying on behind your back? A year and a half. Everyone knows it but you. You’ve been played, Norbert!"
"Stop it! Stop it! Shut up, I won’t kill her. I can’t kill people. I can’t do it..."
Norbert first shouted, then began to sob, whereas Heidi cried out from the bed, "It’s not like that, not at all! What do you want to do, just let me go..."
Just then, Hans, looking irritated, walked in from outside and said angrily to Anton, "I’ve been waiting a long time. What are you doing? Why isn’t this settled with all the yelling?"
Anton let out a long sigh and shrugged, "I wanted Norbert to kill Heidi, but he can’t do it."
Hans glanced at Heidi and said, "Why make it so complicated?"
Anton sighed and said, "Alright, alright, time is precious, right? I give up. Well then, Norbert."
Norbert looked toward Anton, who spread his hands and said, "You have another choice if you want to live. That is to work for us. You know who we are, right? Yes, we’re a wicked organization. Very wicked, exceedingly wicked. My boss sees your talent. He wants you to make money for him, so he sent me to invite you to join."
Norbert was somewhat stunned; he had no idea what Anton was up to.
Anton prodded Norbert’s chest with his hand and smiled, "The means might be a bit horrifying for you, but this way you can see reality, right? Moreover, by joining us, you’ll make lots of money. And most importantly, you won’t die now, and whatever happened today won’t be linked to you. Remember what I said? Someone else will take the fall for you. The police will never suspect you. So, how about it, consider joining us?"
Norbert trembled as he asked, "What organization are you?"
Anton spread his hands and said, "Do you have a choice? If you don’t have a choice, then what’s the point of asking these questions?"
Norbert looked at Hans again, his face filled with astonishment as he said, "It was you..."
Hans nodded and said, "It was me."
"This is a trap you set!"
Realization dawned on Norbert’s face, but Anton grew very impatient and said, "What are you thinking about? This is not a trap at all, everything you see is real. I’m just using the situation to force you to submit. Now answer me, are you willing to join us? If you join, you can live; otherwise, you’ll have to die."
Looking at Heidi, Norbert spoke in a low voice, "If I join, will you let us go?"
"Us? You mean her too?"
Anton pointed toward Heidi, and Norbert reluctantly nodded before whispering, "Although she... but she doesn’t deserve to die, right?"
Anton shrugged and said, "But she’s seen too much, heard too much. If you don’t want to be caught by the police, it’s best to kill her."
Norbert immediately turned to Heidi and asked frantically, "You won’t talk, will you? You won’t say anything to the police, right!"
Heidi nodded repeatedly and said, "Yes, I promise I won’t tell the police anything."
Anton waved his hand and said loudly, "Alright, then spare her."
Hans’s face was filled with shock, while surprise lit the faces of Norbert and Heidi. However, Anton just picked up his phone and smiled, "Now we can go."
Norbert looked at Heidi, then slowly walked toward the exit, but at that moment, he heard a cry of alarm.
Turning around in astonishment, Norbert saw that Anton had already approached the muscular man and pulled out the knife with one hand.
With a phone in one hand and a kitchen knife in the other, Anton stabbed out amidst Heidi’s screams.
Heidi’s screams stopped abruptly.
After pulling the bloodied knife from Heidi’s neck, Anton smoothly stabbed it into the muscular man’s chest, then he turned the phone toward himself and, smiling, took a selfie.
After doing this, Anton turned off the phone and, smiling at Norbert who was too shocked to move, said, "Just kidding, how could I possibly let her go, haha, don’t be foolish."
Trembling all over, Norbert stared at Anton and then finally could not support his own body and collapsed to the floor.
Anton stood up, tucked the phone into his pocket and said, "Now I have two videos, one of you committing murder, and one of me committing murder. If you’re smart, the police will get my murder video, but if you’re not smart, well, then there’s no need for any video."
After saying this with a smile, Anton gestured to Hans and said, "Everything’s done now, tie him up, we should go."
Hans sighed and then, with a helpless look toward Anton, said, "Dude, you’re sick!"
