Jethro was still discussing with Ferdinand how to take down Beasley when they tried to contact him, only to find that Beasley was unreachable.

What happened later turned out to be very exciting, as Jethro and Ferdinand discovered that a firefight that took place in Kyiv was actually where Beasley had been killed.

This threw everything into chaos.

Beasley, who was supposed to arrive in Kyiv in three days, was already there a few days earlier, and as Jethro continued his investigation, he found out that Beasley had even purchased a batch of arms and was planning to sell another batch.

Neither Beasley nor Nicholas should have been involved in the Ukrainian arms market. Deyo had sent Beasley to fight, not to do business.

As an onlooker, Yang Yi felt that Deyo hadn’t lost yet, not knowing whether it was because he had strong support, or because Big Ivan’s side was just too incompetent.

Speaking of which, the support Deyo had was indeed substantial, since the United States, eager to take down Big Ivan, was even more anxious than Deyo himself.

Even if Deyo did nothing, he wouldn’t have to worry about losing to Big Ivan because, once the United States made its move, it was unlikely that Big Ivan would survive, at least in the eyes of the vast majority.

If Deyo hadn’t been set on controlling the arms stockpile of Ukraine, he wouldn’t have needed to send anyone there at all. His plan was to let the Americans confront Big Ivan head-on while he picked up the spoils from behind—that’s what it was all about.

Yang Yi felt that Jethro was brewing a major operation again.

Big Ivan’s counterattacks had been sharp these days, and although he hadn’t come knocking on Jethro’s door to take him down, several of Jethro’s sent operatives had indeed been killed in a few operations. Meanwhile, Jethro and Ferdinand had also taken out some of the other side’s men, but none of those kills was of any value.

As the days of calm passed by, eventually, the calmness ended.

Jethro was eating, with Yang Yi accompanying him, when Ferdinand rushed in like a madman.

Seeing Yang Yi and the others, Ferdinand didn’t speak, instead he just gasped for breath urgently.

Something big must have happened. Jethro put his spoon down and then asked in a deep voice, "What happened?"

With a trembling voice, Ferdinand said, "Come here!"

Jethro urged, "There are no outsiders here, just say it."

Ferdinand took a breath, then whispered, "We might have found Big Ivan."

Jethro’s eyes widened instantly, and then he said incredulously, "What?"

"The CIA found Polovich and has been monitoring him. Polovich came to Kyiv very secretly, and then he went to meet someone just as secretly!"

Jethro asked with a trembling voice, "Big Ivan?"

Ferdinand nodded gravely and then said with excitement, "Exactly, it’s the most logical explanation! The Americans have made their move. If the person Polovich is meeting is indeed Big Ivan, then everything will be over tonight!"

Jethro urgently asked, "Where did this information come from?"

Ferdinand said with a satisfied look, "CIA! The CIA informed the boss directly, and the boss notified me. He’s ordering us to move immediately because the CIA has already taken action, right now!"

Yang Yi’s heart trembled. He had just received such vital intelligence, and now he wasn’t sure if he could notify Justin in time.

Jethro asked urgently, "What are we going to do?"

Just then, Jethro’s phone suddenly rang. He pulled out the phone, took one glance, and immediately answered, then whispered, "Boss, what are your orders?"

After saying ’uh-huh’ and ’okay’ a few times, Jethro quickly hung up the phone and then said to Ferdinand, "The boss wants us to be ready. If Big Ivan is dead, we’re to immediately take over everything he left behind, eradicate Big Ivan’s remaining forces. The Americans will also make a move, but we must seize this opportunity to eliminate as many as possible to prevent any trouble from Big Ivan’s men scattering."

Jethro was also very excited. After speaking, he turned to Yang Yi and said urgently, "Gather all your brothers, we’re leaving."

Ferdinand also said urgently, "I’ll go round up the troops, and tonight we’ll wipe out all of Big Ivan’s forces in one fell swoop."

Ferdinand gathered his forces, and almost everyone got in the vehicles, ready to depart when Jethro received another phone call.

Jethro, still dazed, said, "The Americans failed, they... they were wiped out, the most elite forces of the United States were completely wiped out!"

Jethro almost shouted the last sentence.

"How is that possible, how could this be!"

After muttering to himself a couple of times, Jethro lowered his head and said with a trembling voice, "We have to reassess Big Ivan’s strength. We over-simplified things before, we were all too naïve. Big Ivan, how could he be so easily killed."

Yang Yi asked in a low voice, "Can you tell me what happened?"

Jethro took a deep breath and then said with a shaking voice, "Just now, the Americans deployed their most elite troops, who parachuted in to attack Big Ivan. The result... complete annihilation..."

After finishing, Jethro said with a pained expression, "That was the world’s most powerful militar, America’s best troops, but they failed, they really failed! They were all wiped out?"

Yang Yi asked softly, "What about Big Ivan then, is he completely unscathed?"

Jethro’s lips twitched, then he said softly, "The special forces are all wiped out. The CIA has suffered heavy losses, and Big Ivan is still resisting. Given the situation, Big Ivan won’t die. We should be thinking about how to survive, it’s us who should be scared."
