Chapter 613: Chapter 621 Afraid of Pain or Starvation

Discovering that Yang Yi had decided to leave Tuya behind, Jethro expressed some regret, "Actually, I really could use a subordinate like him. His size is imposing, it could be quite effective during negotiations."

Yang Yi looked at Jethro and said, "You want him? If you really do, I’d give him to you."

Jethro shook his head again and again, "Forget it, forget it. He’d need at least half a year to get better, and I can’t wait that long."

Yang Yi looked apologetically and said, "Sorry, I went ahead and made a decision just now. What about Ferdinand?"

Jethro laughed, "I’ll handle Ferdinand, no problem. Just by the way they treat this guy, I can tell Ferdinand wouldn’t care much about him."

Yang Yi rather dismissively said, "If I may say something I shouldn’t, just by the way Ferdinand treats his subordinates, I don’t think he’s the kind of person you can cooperate with. You need to be careful with him."

Jethro sighed softly, "I know."

At that moment, Tuya spoke softly, "Sorry, but I’m really hungry..."

Everyone couldn’t help but look toward Tuya, who, feeling even more awkward, said, "I didn’t eat anything last night and have been hungry up to now. I really didn’t want it to be like this, but, but I’m really starving. When a person is injured, they need to eat more, or else they’ll die."

Zhang Yong chuckled, "A broken arm has nothing to do with eating; skipping a few meals won’t kill you. Come here, let me check your arm."

As he spoke, Zhang Yong grabbed Tuya’s arm, causing Tuya to shudder and immediately turn his head away, not daring to look at Zhang Yong.

After unwrapping the bandage from outside and removing two wooden splints, Tuya’s swollen break was revealed. Zhang Yong gently pinched it a few times, causing Tuya to involuntarily hiss in pain.

Zhang Yong frowned, "Something’s not right with this arm..."

Tuya, with a pained expression, said, "It’s broken."

"No kidding, I know it’s broken. I’m the one who broke it; do you think I don’t know? Did the doctor set the bone for you?"

Tuya nodded repeatedly, "Yes, yes."

"Who set the bone for you?"

"The doctor."

Zhang Yong said impatiently, "Damn it, that’s not an answer. Which doctor? From where?"

"Uh, I went to a hospital."

"How did they treat it?"

"They took an X-ray, then set the bone. I don’t speak Ukrainian, so I don’t know what the doctor said. But my companion told me there was no need for screws, they asked the doctor to fix it up, and now it’s like this..."

Zhang Yong angrily said, "They don’t treat you like a human being. Are you stupid or what? Your bone isn’t set properly at all. That doctor is an idiot, and you’re foolish too. Don’t you know the state of your own arm? Why didn’t you have it properly treated?"

Tuya said in a low voice, "It would’ve cost four thousand US dollars! Four thousand US dollars!"

For just four thousand US dollars, Ferdinand wouldn’t even pay for Tuya’s treatment.

Zhang Yong sighed, "If your arm isn’t treated, it’s going to be useless."

All of a sudden, Brian said, "If the bone is not neatly broken, surgery with screws is likely needed, right?"

Zhang Yong shook his head, "No need, just find a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner to properly set the bone, immobilize it with a splint and a cast, that’s all. I’ve seen many injuries like this. But, where can we find a good orthopedic traditional Chinese doctor in Kyiv?"

Tuya grew up fast, he was only 24 years old, but he looked like he was 34, yet Tuya was still a young man. When he learned that his arm might be ruined, his eyes were filled with hope as he looked at Zhang Yong, hoping to hear something useful from Zhang Yong’s mouth.

In the end, Zhang Yong looked towards Jethro and said, "Boss, do you know where in Kyiv we can find a traditional Chinese doctor? Orthopedic."

Jethro shook his head and said, "No idea. Why would I know that? Do you really think you can just push broken bones back into place with your hands?"

Zhang Yong said irritably, "Ignorant. Forget it, I won’t talk about this with you guys. It’s not my problem anyway."

Zhang Yong kicked the ball over to Yang Yi, and after pondering for a moment, Yang Yi’s eyes suddenly brightened as he said, "Got it!"

Slapping his hand, Yang Yi said excitedly, "Why don’t we just send him to a place that has traditional Chinese medicine, right?"

Zhang Yong frowned and said, "Our manpower is so tight, and now we need to spare people to send him? Oh, I see."

Have McDonald take Tuya.

That would get rid of two troubles at once: send McDonald off to take Tuya to get his arm fixed. Considering Tuya couldn’t move for a while anyway, this would also conveniently get rid of McDonald. Two birds with one stone.

Just then, Tuya couldn’t help saying, "I’m sorry, I really can’t stand the hunger anymore. Can I please have something to eat first?"

Zhang Yong yelled, "Are you afraid of pain or hunger!"

Tuya thought hard and then said softly, "Hunger..."

As Zhang Yong looked like he was about to lose his temper again, Tuya shrank back and said softly, "You haven’t experienced hunger, so you don’t know how terrifying it is."

Tuya’s words somehow made what little sympathy Yang Yi had left start to overflow. So, he picked up the big piece of bread that Tuya had gnawed unevenly from the bedside table and put it in front of Tuya’s mouth.

Tuya bit off a chunk with a grunt.

The big bread was a kind of hard, dark, slightly sour bread. Those who weren’t accustomed to it thought it was really disgusting, but watching Tuya’s face as he ate in haste, it seemed as though he was enjoying the most delicious food in the world.

Rodriguez bounced up to Yang Yi and said, "Boss, let me feed him."

Yang Yi handed the bread to Rodriguez, who after feeding Tuya a bite, asked curiously, "Is it good?"

Tuya nodded several times, then said unclearly, "Not good, hard."

"If it’s not good, why are you nodding? Is that enough for you?"

"Not enough, far from enough."

Rodriguez turned to look at Yang Yi, who looked at Jethro. Jethro let out a wry smile, "Alright, it’s almost time for lunch anyway. Let’s prepare lunch. Hmm, we’ll take care of our own meals. Boyata, take two people with you and sort out our food."

Boyata nodded, then he called Chris and Vitali to go out and purchase their food.

Boyata and Chris got along well; they found each other agreeable, and Vitali being Ukrainian, it was better to have him deal with any interactions that were needed.

After Boyata left, Jethro said to Yang Yi, "Come with me."

Leading Yang Yi to another room, Jethro lowered his voice and smiled, "I have some good news for you. I’m in charge of the money now, right? So, I’ve decided to give you guys a raise."

Yang Yi immediately grinned and said, "That’s really good news, thanks. Hmm, what’s that smell?"

Yang Yi sniffed the air and glanced around the room. Suddenly, with a furious expression, he exclaimed, "Fuck! That bastard pissed the bed!"
