Spy-x-War Showdown
Chapter 564 - 572: Financial Management

Chapter 564: Chapter 572: Financial Management

Germany, Frankfurt.

Even though Boer knew that Yang Yi and his companions were coming, he dared not show himself and was waiting to greet them at the place he rented.

It was all to avoid being recognized by people from the past; however, no amount of disguise could outwit the current tech conditions. Before he caught anybody’s attention, he was fine, but if those who wished him dead discovered him, he’d really be facing a fatal outcome.

"Hey, haven’t seen you in a few days, you look a lot better."

Having not seen him for months, Boer’s vitality had completely changed.

The once lifeless Boer had disappeared, and now, Boer was as spirited as when Yang Yi first met him. However, Boer had changed his hairstyle, his clothing style was different, and he even gained quite a bit of weight.

Indeed, the best way to make a man forget his sorrows is to give him a job he’s interested in.

Boer opened his arms and gave Yang Yi a big hug.

Yang Yi turned towards Gweil, and then he laughed, "Hello, Professor Rasno, it looks like you’ve adapted well to life here."

Gweil wasn’t much different from before; he shook hands with Yang Yi and then said with sincerity, "Do you need poisoning?"

"What?"

"How can a spy not perform poisoning? I heard you’ve come into money recently, are you interested in setting up a lab? It doesn’t need to be too big, nor too equipped; a few hundred thousand dollars would be enough. Whatever toxin you need, I can provide it for you. Or do you want to make money? I’ve done my research. The quality of meth in the German market is poor, and I was very inspired by a TV show I watched, ’Breaking Bad.’ You know it? The protagonist is just a chemistry teacher, but I’m a professor. I can make meth; I assure you I can produce the best meth on the market."

Gweil was clearly bored, and Yang Yi’s expression turned serious as he replied in a deep voice, "Your idea is very dangerous, professor, we do not get involved in the drug business, absolutely not."

Gweil looked impatient and quickly said, "Then we won’t touch the drugs. But you must have times when you need to use poison, right? What you buy can’t compare to what you make at home. What do you need? Ricin? Potassium cyanide? Whatever you need, I can make it for you, just give me a lab and some small equipment, seriously, just a small setup will do!"

Boer shrugged and said, "Professor’s about to annoy me to death. If you have the money, quickly give him some to set up his lab."

Without hesitation, Yang Yi asked, "How much do you need?"

Gweil, visibly excited, exclaimed, "Really giving me money? Five hundred thousand euros, that’s enough, isn’t it? If that’s too much, will three hundred thousand euros do?"

Yang Yi waved his hand and declared, "Five hundred thousand euros, that settles it. But you better be able to supply whatever toxin I need."

Gweil clasped Yang Yi’s hand and shook it repeatedly, saying, "No problem! No problem at all!"

Actually, for any toxin Yang Yi wanted to buy, he didn’t need to make it himself; anything could be bought on the spy goods market. But he didn’t want Gweil to get so bored that he’d cause some trouble. And then Yang Yi thought that maybe it wouldn’t be too bad if Gweil produced some toxins to keep as a backup. But in the end, Yang Yi just wanted to find something for Gweil to do to keep him occupied.

Finally, Gweil let go of Yang Yi’s hand, and Yang Yi turned to Boer and asked, "You’ve been doing well recently? Made a tidy sum, I bet."

Boer replied indifferently, "Not bad, using the capital you gave me, I made six hundred thousand euros in this period. Then, I reinvested that money into the stock market, but I can’t show up personally at the stock exchanges, which is still a bit inconvenient."

Yang Yi said in surprise, "Made six hundred thousand euros? Not bad at all!"

Boer replied indifferently, "That’s just small change. If you gave me all your money, it would be a different story. The more money, the faster it makes more money. You should understand this principle, so give me some more..."

"Stop! Stop right there!"

Yang Yi crossed his arms and then looked at Boer, "You can’t even go to the stock market, and you want me to give you all my money? What if there are losses?"

Boer frowned and said, "How could there be losses? I’ll be your trader; there’s no way we’d lose money. Plus, I wouldn’t put all my eggs in one basket. Don’t you understand that money makes money? What’s the use of keeping all the money in the account?"

Yang Yi replied seriously, "I often need access to funds, and when I need it, it’s usually urgent. What if I can’t get the money when I’m in a rush? People could die!"

Boer frowned and said, "That is a problem, but only a small one. I could always ensure that there are twenty million US dollars available in one of your accounts for immediate use. No matter how I maneuver, I can guarantee that. How does that sound?"

Yang Yi certainly didn’t dare to entrust Boer with all his capital. After thinking it over, he said, "I’ll consider it. Also, I do know someone who is in urgent need of money management. I’ll ask if he’s willing to give you a portion of the money, but honestly, if anything goes wrong... people could really die..."

Boer said eagerly, "I could choose the safest method, earn a little less, but definitely make a profit, guaranteeing an annual return rate of at least twenty percent. How about that?"

Yang Yi clicked his tongue and said, "That’s still earning less? And it’s safe?"

"If I took a bit more risk and maximized the financial leverage, I’d dare to claim a hundred percent annual return."

"Forget it, forget it. It’s better to be safe."

Yang Yi waved his hand. "Let’s talk about the money later; I need to think about it. We’re both tired now and need to go back to the hotel to rest."

Boer shrugged. "Aren’t we going to have dinner together? We can just call for takeout. I know a good Italian restaurant. Where are the others? Why is it just the two of you?"

Yang Yi had come to see Boer with Xiao Ran. The others had already checked into the hotel. Since Boer was renting a house, Yang Yi felt it was better to be cautious and try not to do anything too conspicuous.

"The others are at the hotel. We wouldn’t have come to see you if it weren’t necessary. We’re here on business, so it was just the two of us who specially came to check on you."

Xiao Ran sat on the sofa, glanced around the room, and smiled, "You guys have a decent place here, Boer. Work hard, and you might earn enough to pay us back soon. Don’t forget about the billion, okay?"

Boer curled his lip and said, "With the capital I have now, I probably couldn’t earn a billion even if I lived forever. But if you give me more principal, say a billion, I might be able to pay you back in just a year or two."

Xiao Ran smiled and said, "Alright then. I’ve also made quite a bit of money, and since I don’t need it, I’ve decided to hand it all over for you to manage. You name the return."

Boer didn’t hesitate to answer, "No less than fifty percent. If you give me a million, I’ll get you a return of at least five hundred thousand within a year. But I need complete control over your money. Deal?"

Xiao Ran clapped her hands and said, "Deal, but if you lose all my money, let me tell you, I won’t let you off easily."
