Chapter 557: Chapter 565: Just Like a Gun

Whether it’s a microwave eavesdropping device or a laser eavesdropping device, the most important condition for use is that it must be able to capture the resonance caused by sound wave vibrations, especially glass because it gives the best eavesdropping effect.

Unfortunately, Anton and Chris weren’t able to eavesdrop on any conversations. This could have been because Bu Cunzai wasn’t in this house at all, or maybe he wasn’t speaking, or of course, it could have been because he was speaking from the wrong location.

Anton kept fiddling with the microwave eavesdropping device while Chris kept checking the situation in front and behind.

The long wait yielded no results, but Anton wasn’t in a hurry. In fact, there wasn’t anything to be in a hurry about; all he could do was wait.

Finally, Chris whispered, "A car’s coming."

Anton turned his head to look back and saw a car stopping in front of Bu Cunzai’s villa. After a short wait, the villa’s gate opened and the car drove in.

With a smile, Anton whispered, "As expected, someone has arrived."

Even though someone had arrived, they still couldn’t hear any valuable conversation. After a while, Anton became a bit impatient and said, "It’s so annoying. We know they’re inside, but we can’t hear a thing."

In a low voice, Chris said, "I thought you never got angry or impatient."

Shaking his head, Anton whispered, "Of course I get angry, I just know it’s useless to be angry."

Another fifteen minutes passed, and Yang Yi spoke through the walkie-talkie, "We’ve arrived, but we’re stuck outside the community."

Yang Yi sounded somewhat frustrated. Anton ended the call and then said to Chris, "It looks like we won’t be making any progress for a while."

With a listless voice, Chris said, "Yeah, I heard."

Suddenly, Anton began looking around frantically. Chris whispered anxiously, "Hey, what are you doing? Don’t stick your head out!

Anton pulled his head back into the car and said, "Don’t be nervous, I was just checking for cameras."

Still shaken, Chris said, "Are you insane? If there were cameras, you would’ve been exposed just now."

Anton chuckled and said, "No, because I guess there aren’t any cameras inside. As a con man, can’t you understand this?"

Chris angrily said, "Can you stop calling me a con man? Besides, I am a con man, not a thief. Hank observes for cameras everywhere he goes, but I don’t need to worry about being caught on camera."

Anton shrugged and said, "Let me tell you, generally speaking, in a community with tight security like this, there will be many cameras at the entrance and around the fence, but inside the community, especially around the houses, there won’t be cameras. Why? Because the people living here are big shots; they can’t stand the feeling of being watched by anyone, so these places are tight on the outside but loose on the inside."

Chris said irritably, "So what?"

"So, the only houses that might have cameras are the ones that aren’t real, but our position won’t have any. Think about it, if you were Bu Cunzai, would you enjoy being watched by community security every time you enter or leave?"

"Definitely not."

"So, we actually can get in."

Chris was truly frightened and whispered urgently, "Are you crazy? Are you really thinking about breaking in?"

Anton shook his head and said, "Not now. If Bu Cunzai leaves, then there will be no one inside the house, or at least very few people. If he doesn’t leave, well, I think he will."

"Everything is what you think, why would Bu Cunzai leave? He just got home."

"Because he’s busy."

"Fuck, that counts as a reason?"

Anton looked at Chris with a disdainful gaze and said, "Isn’t that a reason?"

Chris waved his hand and said, "Whatever you say. I’m not going to argue with you."

Anton looked toward Bu Cunzai’s house again and whispered, "We’re already inside and the others aren’t. To monitor Bu Cunzai’s house completely, we can only look for opportunities. As I said before, there are definitely many cameras at the entrance and around the perimeter, so climbing over the wall isn’t the best idea; we don’t know when the opportunity will come."

Seeing Anton eager to try, Chris said with a trembling voice, "You’re not really thinking about going in, are you?"

Anton whispered, "Why not?"

"Fuck! Aren’t you afraid we’ll be exposed?"

Anton chuckled and whispered, "The likelihood of us being exposed is the lowest. Take the current situation, for instance. The only one Bu Cunzai would suspect is the Anderson Research Association. Think about it, the people Bu Cunzai sent to kill Park Ji-yi are all dead, and Park Ji-yi is dead; who would kill Park Ji-yi? Other than Bu Cunzai, it could only be the Anderson Research Association. Put yourself in Bu Cunzai’s position, with the situation as it is, would you suspect the Anderson Research Association, or us, who shouldn’t even be here?"

In a low voice, Chris said, "Hm, Bu Cunzai hired assassins to keep a sunken ship from dragging him down. Obviously, the Anderson Research Association would have the same concern, so Bu Cunzai believing that the Anderson Research Association killed Park Ji-yi, and that they even want to kill him, seems quite normal."

Anton nodded and said, "That’s enough, isn’t it?"

In an urgent voice, Chris said, "But still, that doesn’t mean we can just break into Bu Cunzai’s house and kill him!"

Anton shook his head and said, "I’m talking about the worst-case scenario, like if I sneak into his house to search and run into someone, then I’ll have no choice but to silence them. But our goal is to gather information, so if we can get the information without killing, why bother killing at all?"

"You still want to go in..."

"Of course, if no one discovers us, then searching Bu Cunzai’s house and gathering information is the simplest and most direct approach. If we are discovered going in, then killing everyone without anyone knowing it’s us is the most direct approach. All things considered, it’s really worth a try."

Chris covered his face with his hand, then removed it and whispered, "It sounds quite reasonable, although I always feel something’s off. Oh, I get it now, the issue is how can you ensure you eliminate everyone?"

Anton looked at Chris with disdain and said, "You doubt my ability?"

Chris was stunned for a moment, then nodded and said, "For me, this is suicide, but for you, it doesn’t seem to be a problem at all. So... shall we do it?"

Anton looked at Chris and whispered, "Oh, you madman."

Chris said angrily, "This was clearly your idea!"

Anton shrugged and said, "I’d really like to do it, but I have to follow orders. If the boss agrees, then I’ll go ahead; if the boss disagrees, I can’t do it, because I’m not the one in control of the big picture."

Chris scoffed and said, "I didn’t expect you to be someone who follows orders and thinks of the greater good."

Anton chuckled and said, "Like a gun, it only fires when the user pulls the trigger. Don’t you understand that concept?"
