Chapter 472: Chapter 460: The Person in Grey Clothes

"He’s dead..."

Alexander’s voice carried a hint of regret.

When Yang Yi made his way to the economy class and saw the two people still lying in the aisle, he first bent down to check on the person who had been hit in the back of the head with the butt of a gun.

Before Yang Yi could even touch him, Alexander announced an unfavorable outcome.

Not a single survivor was left. Yang Yi had wanted to ask who Roy’s mystery boss was, but now it was all over— one had his neck twisted by Yang Yi, and the other was killed by a blow to the head with a gun butt, no bloodshed, yet fatal just the same.

"I only meant to knock him out, but the situation was urgent, I was worried he might shout, so I just..."

One of the Grey-cloaked People shrugged his shoulders, then he said in a deep voice, "If this man was of any use, then I apologize."

Yang Yi stood up, dusted off his hands, and said, "It’s okay, at that moment the most important thing was to ensure that no one could make a sound. I too had no choice but to act harshly."

"It doesn’t matter now, whether we know who it is or not, it doesn’t change much. Either way, we have to keep this secret closely guarded, as leaking it would do none of us any good. Not knowing who the behind-the-scenes boss is might even be better, it will at least make you more cautious and not prone to leaking information carelessly."

Justin seemed quite indifferent, as whoever was behind the gold must be a major player. Any slip-up could mean disaster. Had they known who the boss was, they might have let their guard down, but ignorance meant increased vigilance among all involved parties—they wouldn’t dare to speak of it to anyone.

Alexander looked at Justin and asked, "Aren’t you planning to check who this man was working for?"

Justin shook his head, "No need to dig. To investigate would leave traces, and traces lead to danger. At this point, the fewer issues, the better."

By now, everyone had started getting excited, and the journey wasn’t a long one. Soon, the plane began its preparations for landing.

After receiving the notification from the pilot, Alexander said to Justin, "We’ve arrived at the airport you mentioned. Do you want to get in touch with the ground crew?"

This time they were landing at a military airport in Poland, but Yang Yi did not know the exact location. Alexander and his pilots surely knew, but neither Justin nor Alexander seemed inclined to inform Yang Yi—clearly, there were some matters in which Justin did not fully trust him.

Justin, now visibly excited, buckled his seatbelt and said loudly, "No need to contact them, just go ahead and land. The airstrip at this airport is of a high standard; it can handle a Boeing 747 with no problems."

The sun was shining brightly outside.

Yang Yi’s heart was once again on edge, hardly any lighter than when he took off.

The plane started to descend, then it aligned with the runway, and after a heavy jolt, Yang Yi let out half a sigh of relief since he knew for sure that he wouldn’t die in a crash.

The aircraft taxied toward the end of the runway, where many people were waiting.

The plane landed.

A ladder was placed against the hatch, just an ordinary ladder, and then Justin climbed down it.

Alexander gave Yang Yi a knowing look, and without a word, Yang Yi followed Justin down the ladder.

Two trucks and several off-road vehicles were parked beside the runway, with only about a dozen people, none of whom looked like soldiers. This was a Polish military airport, yet the happenings here seemed to have nothing to do with the soldiers stationed at this airfield.

After disembarking from the plane, Justin immediately spread his arms wide and laughed heartily, "Lads, hello there, I’m so glad to see you."

Yang Yi silently followed Justin, while Alexander also climbed down from the ladder at this time.

A middle-aged man stood out from the crowd, opening his arms and smiling, "Hello there, friend."

Yang Yi’s heart suddenly tightened, because the man greeting Justin was dressed in a suit, a gray suit.

Gray is a very common color for clothing, especially for suits, but to Yang Yi, a person or an organization capable of digesting thirty-five tons of gold in two days, able to receive the batch at a military airport in Poland, and dressed in a gray suit, was something he couldn’t help but think more about.

Could it be the Grey-cloaked People?

Yang Yi’s heart began to pound, and then he looked at the man, whose face he found it slightly difficult to remember upon closer observation.

If it weren’t for the gray suit, if it weren’t for this particular occasion, Yang Yi was sure he wouldn’t have paid any attention to the man in the gray suit if he met him on the street.

The greatest feature was having no distinguishing features, and when the absence of features became a notable feature itself, it was not especially advantageous for concealment. Yet, unless one had a photographic memory like Yang Yi, it would probably be difficult to describe any distinctive traits of the Grey-cloaked People after seeing them.

Justin shook hands with the man in gray and then smiled, "So you must be Lloyd?"

"Yes, I am Lloyd Gibson."

Lloyd smiled genuinely and then said in a deep voice, "Was the journey here smooth?"

Justin, too, smiled, "Very smooth, so, is the money ready?"

Lloyd smiled, "Of course, ready for delivery at any time."

Justin whistled and then turned his head toward Alexander, "Buddy, start unloading."

The boxes full of gold were pushed out from the cargo hold, each one requiring six or seven people to push hard to keep them from uncontrollably rolling down the slope, because the boxes were too heavy.

After pushing out three boxes in succession, twelve armed members of Aurora stood immobile behind them, their intention to guard the gold quite clear.

After several more boxes were pushed out, Justin smiled, "Forty boxes in total; time to inspect the goods, right?"

Lloyd smiled, "No rush."

After waiting a full half-hour, when all forty boxes were pushed onto flat ground, Lloyd finally gestured, and several people with a flatbed trolley came to his side.

"Let’s start the inspection."

Justin extended his hand, "Please."

Gold is heavy, and while the iron boxes looked quite large, they definitely couldn’t be filled to the brim, because a cubic meter of gold weighs well over nineteen tons. To facilitate transport, each box had to be underfilled a bit.

The people from Aurora took the initiative to open all forty boxes, and so Yang Yi saw what piles and piles of gold looked like together for the first time.

Lloyd walked around the boxes, then reached into one and lifted a gold bar with both hands, smiling afterward, "400-ounce gold bars, the international standard delivery size, stamped by the National Bank of Ukraine. Very good, they seem fine on the outside."
