Xiao Ran had already killed the person launching the rocket-propelled grenade when she screamed, but the RPG nevertheless had been launched.

Yang Yi didn’t see the rocket, but soon there was an explosion far to his right. However, the first RPG explosion was just the prelude, and shortly after, another explosion occurred to the front-left of Yang Yi.

If the enemy was firing the rocket from inside a building, it was unlikely that Xiao Ran could kill the shooter in time to stop the launch of the RPG.

Thus, the wise choice for Yang Yi at the moment would be to shoot Jethro and then retreat. Blocked by the surroundings and suppressed by Trident’s firepower, the enemy was unlikely to hit Jethro easily. On the other hand, killing Jethro would be an easy shot for Yang Yi and his group.

Just then, Brian shouted, "The enemy has started fighting among themselves!"

Flashes from grenade explosions began to light up inside the building, and smoke billowed out of the windowless openings. It was not clear whether the enemies from above had come down or if those below were shooting upwards, but in any case, firefight had broken out within the building.

Seizing the opportunity without much hesitation, Yang Yi stood up, swung open the car door he was leaning on, and then he started the car.

He shifted into gear, flooring the accelerator, and the car lunged forward wildly.

Watching Yang Yi drive off, Brian could only roar, "Covering fire!"

The people in the building were already engaged in a firefight, and with the support fire from behind well in place, Yang Yi’s danger level was significantly reduced.

Lachie and his team rushed over to rescue Jethro, and they were shot at continuously from the building, but Yang Yi drove straight towards Jethro.

Yang Yi frantically shouted as he took a turn, stopping the car just behind Jethro.

The firefight in the building continued, reducing the pressure on Brian and his team considerably. Yang Yi stopped the car some distance behind them, got out, leaned his gun against the car, and started shooting towards the building.

A distance of just over three hundred meters was still within range but hardly safe. In the red dot scope, Yang Yi saw shadows moving, so he immediately fired a burst of bullets in that direction, without caring whether he’d hit anyone.

Finally reaching the cars, Brian then bellowed, "Holy Water, get on Queen’s car to retreat, the rest provide cover!"

Paul turned and got into the car driven by Kate, and then Xiao Ran, who had been lying beside the car, swiftly got in too. Kate drove the car in a rapid retreat, reversing for over two hundred meters, until Brian shouted, "Queen and Holy Water, cover us!"

Kate stopped the car, Xiao Ran and Paul got out to provide cover, and then Brian roared, "Get in the car, quickly!"

The scattered group quickly converged on Yang Yi’s location, and once everyone was on board, Yang Yi reversed quickly, then sharply turned the car back around and hit the gas, speeding away.

Now at a safe distance, Xiao Ran and the group waited for Yang Yi’s car to pass, then Paul and Xiao Ran got back into the car to follow Yang Yi and the others.

Yang Yi stopped the car by the ditch where they’d left Jethro and yelled, "Get in the car, quick!"

Jethro dragged his bodyguard out of the ditch, and Zhang Yong and Chris jumped down. The two of them grabbed the injured bodyguard and threw him onto the back seat, after which Zhang Yong pushed Jethro and then shouted, "Go!"

Yang Yi didn’t wait for Zhang Yong and Chris; he drove off, while Zhang Yong and Chris waited for Kate’s car to arrive. The two jumped into the car, grabbing the car door as they got in.

The car quickly left the danger zone, and after Yang Yi turned a corner, he called out to Jethro in the back, "Where to now?"

Jethro said urgently, "Just get us out of here first, I’ve called for backup; we’ll have someone to pick us up!"

Jethro’s body shook violently and after taking two quick breaths, he shouted again, "Thanks! Thanks, guys."
