Chapter 396: Chapter 384: Going to See the Auroras
Yang Yi hated the feeling of being in a wheelchair, but only thirteen days had passed since he was hit by shrapnel from a grenade. Ordinary people were still in their hospital beds, yet he had no choice but to start dragging his unhealed body all around the world.
So Yang Yi had no choice but to sit in a wheelchair.
Without Mike, Yang Yi knew what to do, but when it came down to actually doing it, he found everything to be restrictive.
The simplest task, getting a gun from London to Paris, had been helped by Danny. But how would he get the gun to Russia? Whether to Moscow or any other city, taking a weapon into a country was not an easy task.
Zhang Yong couldn’t do it; he could make do in many countries, get whatever he wanted, but he was incompetent in Western Europe, where stability meant that mercenaires couldn’t play their part.
Brian and Paul were also unsuitable; they were both former CIA agents, but their expenses were covered by the United States. Wherever they went, the CIA took care of everything, and they didn’t need to worry about these issues themselves.
Xiao Ran couldn’t do it, Kate couldn’t do it, Chris couldn’t do it, Rodriguez couldn’t do it—the remaining members of the Organization of Water couldn’t achieve what Mike could.
Mike, whether as an intelligence dealer or as a spy, worked for himself, so he was familiar with all this. Daily necessities might seem simple, but in action, they were not simple at all.
With Mike around, all matters could be well arranged, but Mike was dead.
So after arriving in Paris, Yang Yi was truly troubled.
After realizing he truly lacked the ability to solve even the simplest transportation issue, Yang Yi ultimately thought things over and found only Justin could help him.
Thus, less than two hours after arriving in Paris, Yang Yi called Justin.
"Hello, Justin."
"Hello, Sea God."
Justin’s tone was calm, but after greeting Yang Yi, he cheerfully said, "It looks like you haven’t died. I thought you were done for this time."
"You know what happened to us?"
"Oh, I don’t know the details, but I’m aware of what happened in London. It wasn’t difficult to deduce your predicament. Buddy, your situation is pretty bad, right?"
Yang Yi hesitated for a moment, then said in a deep voice, "I’ve survived!"
Yang Yi didn’t say more; he had survived, so the Organization of Water was still there. The Organization had suffered a heavy blow, but it hadn’t been wiped out.
Justin laughed heartily, "Exactly, as long as you’re alive, there’s hope. So, what do you need from me?"
"I need to get to Russia, and I was wondering if you could help us get there."
Justin thought for a moment, then said, "I can! I can take you to any place you want to go and can help you get settled."
Yang Yi let go of half the burden in his heart, then immediately asked, "How much will it cost?"
"Such a thing doesn’t need too much money, so I’m not planning on charging you a fee."
What’s the most expensive thing?
The most expensive thing is something given for free.
Yang Yi would rather give all his money to Justin than owe him a favor over something so trivial, so he said without hesitation, "Still, give me a price."
Justin laughed again and then said in a deep voice, "Make it half a million US dollars then, and I’ll throw in a legitimate cover identity for you. If I’m not mistaken, you need to lay low in Russia for a while, right?"
"Yes."
"There’s a travel agency in Moscow that’s one of my workstations. You can work there, and once you get there, you can find your own housing, but I can assure you the police won’t bother you, and the KGB won’t come knocking."
In an entirely foreign country, being foreigners meant facing inconveniences everywhere, and Moscow’s police were notoriously corrupt. In Moscow, Yang Yi and his team would be safer, but they should forget about doing anything else.
"Okay."
After weighing the pros and cons, since Russia was their best option, they would have to endure any inconveniences.
Yang Yi hesitated for a moment, then lowered his voice and said, "I want to ask if you have a place suitable for some enclosed training. I’ve been injured and need to recuperate for a while, but I hope to do some rehabilitation training while I’m healing. So, can you find a suitable place in Russia?"
Justin laughed, then spoke in a deep voice, "I don’t know why you’re going to Russia, but if you’re just looking to lay low and also want a place where you can fire guns freely, then I have a better suggestion."
"Oh, let’s hear it."
"Go to Finland!"
"Finland?"
Justin said meaningfully, "Ever heard of the aurora?"
Yang Yi frowned and asked, "The aurora? Which aurora are you talking about? Are you referring to the natural phenomenon or something else?"
"The Aurora Mercenary Corps!"
Yang Yi fell silent, then spoke softly, "The first Mercenary Group, yes, I know them."
Justin spoke with a seductive tone, "The Aurora has retired, but I know a guy from the Aurora Mercenary Corps who has an estate in Finland with a large tract of mountainous forest. It’s a legally operated hunting estate, but it’s basically never open to the public because it’s actually Aurora’s training ground."
"Training ground?"
"People get extremely bored after retirement. The guy I know is very bored, and I once did him a big favor, so he might agree to let you use the place. You know, in Finland, that godforsaken place, it’s hard to see the sun during winter; it might be better with company."
"Please hold on a moment."
Yang Yi covered the mouthpiece then called out loudly, "Hey, guys, Justin has a suggestion. We can go to a forest estate in Finland, the training ground of the Aurora Mercenary Corps. Are you willing to go there?"
Zhang Yong, who had been indifferent, perked up upon hearing Aurora’s name and immediately asked, "The Aurora Mercenary Corps?"
"Yes."
Zhang Yong laughed and said, "If that crazy Nate knew about Aurora’s whereabouts, he would go nuts. But I’m just curious about Aurora, and I’d be happy to go if possible. But it’s winter now, won’t it be too cold in Finland?"
Yang Yi didn’t dare to continue Zhang Yong’s line of conversation, afraid he might derail the topic too far, especially since Justin was still on the line, so he turned to Brian and asked, "Do you agree?"
Brian pondered for a moment, then said gravely, "Severe cold, heavy snow, polar night—I hate the polar regions, I hate polar training. However, considering that some of us need to train properly, let’s go to Finland!"
Xiao Ran was quite excited, "Can we go to Finland? Great, we can go skiing, ride snowmobiles, and we can watch the aurora. Why not go?"
