Chapter 360: Chapter 348 Distribution Pattern
Yang Yi dialed the phone, and Justin quickly answered the call.
"The mission is completed, come to London to pick up the person, alive."
Justin was astonished and said in an incredulous tone, "You completed it so soon?"
"Yes, we have the person in our custody, and you can come to take them away at any time, just don’t forget to bring the money when you come."
"Don’t worry about the money, eight million US dollars, pay upon delivery of the person tomorrow. However, I suggest you deliver the person to me, and I’ll pay an additional two hundred thousand US dollars for transportation, how about that?"
Yang Yi didn’t want to earn this petty cash, and more crucially, he didn’t have the proper channels to transport the person outside of the United Kingdom, so he directly rejected Justin’s proposal.
"No, we don’t have the time, it would be better for you to notify the recipient to come and pick up the person."
Justin laughed heartily and said, "I’ll personally come over, so it might be a bit slower. I will definitely be in London by tomorrow afternoon. We’ll be in touch then for you to designate the meeting place. That’s it, goodbye."
After hanging up, Yang Yi looked at Mike and said, "The handover is tomorrow afternoon, payment upon receipt of the person, eight million US dollars."
Mike let out a long breath and said, "With eight million US dollars, our financial crisis will be immediately alleviated, and we’ll finally have enough money and time to establish a network intelligence center."
Yang Yi said in a low voice, "Shouldn’t we pay back the loan from the team leader first?"
Mike immediately shook his head and said, "How can we pay back now? Since we have to pay interest anyway, it’s more cost-effective to use the loan for a full year. The money can’t be returned yet; we have many other places to spend it."
Yang Yi thought for a moment and said in a low voice, "Then, should we distribute some money to everyone?"
Mike sighed and said, "Exactly, since we have some spare money, it’s time to distribute some to the people. The reason why the Organization of Water keeps together is complex, but no matter what brings these people together, they need profits to stick around for the long term."
Yang Yi asked in a low voice, "So, how do we divide the money?"
Mike looked at Yang Yi for a long time before suddenly asking, "Are you asking me how to divide the money?"
"Yes."
"Haven’t you thought about it yourself?"
Yang Yi shook his head and said, "I really haven’t thought about it."
Mike took a deep breath, then nodded and said, "Since you’re asking, I’ll just say it. My suggestion is to split the eight million US dollars into a forty-sixty ratio, with you taking sixty percent, and the remaining forty percent divided among the others."
Yang Yi was startled and said, "Taking sixty percent means almost four million eight hundred thousand for me, and the remaining three million two hundred thousand for everyone to share? That’s too... too unfair, isn’t it? Why not split it equally among everyone?"
Mike looked at Yang Yi and smiled, saying, "Do you think you’re taking too much? No, it’s not too much, because you will be covering all of the Organization of Water’s expenses. Understand? Operational funds, equipment updates, all the expenses come out of your pocket, which means the others are working for you. Every cent they receive is their own, with no need to pay a single cent for the organization’s costs."
Yang Yi understood, but he had some reservations and said in a low voice, "Why not divide it equally among everyone and run the Organization of Water together?"
Mike shook his head and said, "What you’re thinking is idealistic, but a spy organization isn’t a company. You might think it’s good for everyone to strive for a common goal, but do you think those who join the Organization of Water are willing to tie everything they have to it?"
Yang Yi was left speechless as Mike continued in a low voice, "Currently, the Organization of Water is in its initial stages, and the members are very committed, but what about later when more and more people join?"
Yang Yi nodded.
Mike said solemnly, "The issue of profit distribution must be resolved properly. The Organization of Water is yours; you handle all operational costs, so you take the majority of the profits. The others get enough to compensate for their efforts; this is fair. If you think someone has performed exceptionally well, then you can reward them, but that’s your reward to them. Do you see the difference?"
Yang Yi nodded and replied, "I understand."
Mike waved his hand and said, "Of course, the debt to Dark Night Knight also falls solely on you. You borrowed the money, so you repay the debt, that’s your problem. It’s great that everyone is getting paid now that the mission is successful, but there will also be times when missions fail. If that happens, you bear all the losses, but remember, the Organization of Water is yours!"
Yang Yi let out a sigh and said, "Okay, I got your point."
Mike smiled and said, "There’s no reward without risk; with risk comes high reward. That’s the rule for all members. Set the rules first."
Yang Yi said in a low voice, "Alright, but isn’t forty percent for all of you too little?"
"Not at all, this ratio is already quite high. The industry standard is a seventy-thirty split. If we weren’t considering the need to attract more people for the Organization of Water’s rapid development, your share should be seventy percent, not sixty. That’s how it is done in the industry."
Yang Yi nodded and said, "Alright, then that’s what we’ll do."
Mike waved his hand and said, "Everyone is waiting downstairs, go tell them the good news."
Yang Yi stood up and asked, "Should we discuss how to divide the money after we get it in hand?"
Mike smiled and said, "No, talk about it now. Justin won’t cause any problems, and if something does go wrong and we can’t get the money, that will be Justin’s problem."
Without further hesitation, Yang Yi went downstairs with Mike and then announced to the crowd sitting around in the restaurant, "Guys, we get paid tomorrow afternoon, eight million US dollars."
Brian and his group remained impassive, as did Xiao Ran and the others, including Schultz and Tang Guo, who all wore expressions of calm.
Yang Yi had expected cheers.
Clearing his throat, Yang Yi spoke gravely, "We’ve earned our first payment, so everyone will get a share. Three million two hundred thousand US dollars divided equally; although Zhang Yong is not here, he will also have a share, so that makes it nine people sharing the three million two hundred thousand. That’s thirty-five thousand five hundred dollars per person. I’ll round it up to thirty-six thousand for each, and I’ll distribute it as soon as we get the money tomorrow."
Schultz was stunned for a moment, then pointed to his nose and asked, "I get a share too?"
Yang Yi shrugged and said, "Of course, you definitely get a share."
With an astonished look, Schultz stood up and turned in place, then asked Tang Guo, "I’m getting thirty-six thousand dollars? How should I spend it? I’m rich now! What should I do with this money?"
Tang Guo smiled and replied, "Of course, spend it however you want. That’s your business."
Yang Yi also smiled and said, "Next, I’ll explain the distribution ratio and principles to everyone. If anyone has any questions, feel free to raise them."
After thoroughly explaining Mike’s ideas to everyone, Yang Yi smiled and said, "If anyone has objections to this distribution model, please speak up. If there are no objections, we will follow this principle for distributing money from now on."
