Chapter 310: Chapter 309: Your Organization of Water

London.

The Organization of Water had all returned to London, and the first priority was to find a suitable place to settle down. It was a major issue, and although it was urgent, it couldn’t be rushed, so Yang Yi and the others all stayed in a hotel.

Due to the tight budget, the conditions of the hotel where Yang Yi and his group stayed were really limited. The daily room rate was only forty British Pounds, which could be counted as one of the lowest-grade hotels in London. But the upside was that, with the cheaper room rates, each member of the Organization of Water could have their own room.

Once they were at the hotel, they were temporarily settled, but Mike, who had been extremely tired these past few days, didn’t rest. As soon as he entered the hotel, he invited Yang Yi into his room.

The cheapest hotel, with its cramped space and outdated facilities, not to mention the lack of a single chair, was mostly taken up by a bed.

Yang Yi didn’t know why Mike had called him alone and initially thought it would be a brief conversation before leaving. However, Mike pointed to the bed and said in a low voice, "Sit."

Yang Yi had no choice but to sit on the bed. After Mike sat down beside him, he pondered for a moment before saying in a deep voice, "Now that we are in London, do you have any plans for the future?"

Yang Yi thought for a while and said softly, "There are a few things that must be done immediately. First, find a suitable base, and then I need to summon the few people who are still in Mexico. Once everyone is gathered, we can take on some missions. Whatever the tasks are, we urgently need to earn more money."

Mike sighed softly and then said in a low voice, "There is an issue that I need to be clear with you about now. Currently in the Organization of Water, you are the leader in name but not in reality, right?"

Yang Yi looked at Mike with some surprise and asked softly, "What do you mean?"

Mike took a breath and said, "You’re a young man, newly initiated and lacking experience. It’s obviously not appropriate for you to handle all of the Organization’s affairs. For the Organization of Water, which is still fragile, a single mistake from you could lead to its complete extinction. That’s why I’ve been managing everything. But this state of affairs is not reasonable. My and Brian’s presence undermines your authority, which is not good, very bad actually."

Yang Yi said with some surprise, "But I really don’t understand anything. Isn’t it proper for you to take command then?"

Mike looked at Yang Yi, just staring coldly and saying nothing.

All this time, it had been Mike overseeing everything, absolutely everything, leaving practically no role for Yang Yi, not even a say.

Yang Yi’s current status was somewhat awkward. He was the nominal head of the Organization of Water but didn’t have any real say.

The biggest issue for the Organization of Water now was that the backgrounds of its members were too complex, and each one was an elite, a top figure in their respective fields. How could Yang Yi, just a young novice, command these lieutenants who were leaders in their own right?

Not to mention Mike—he was the only person in the entire Organization who could truly be called a spy. Whether it was qualification, background, or experience, he was among the world’s elite. Although only one person, if he wanted to take over the organization’s voice, unless Yang Yi wanted to disband immediately, he had to listen to Mike.

Brian and his trio were a small group within the organization and represented its strongest combat force, but Yang Yi couldn’t command them at all.

Yang Yi also had his own small group, namely Kate, Xiao Ran, and Zhang Yong.

But even Yang Yi’s own group wasn’t entirely united at the moment.

Needless to say about Kate, she was Yang Yi’s staunch supporter. She and Yang Yi were inseparably tied to each other; only Kate would help Yang Yi wholeheartedly, and only she would share life and death with him. But the problem was that this relationship only existed between Kate and Yang Yi.

Xiao Ran was originally part of the cleaners, and that was enough to say, without going into detail.

As for Zhang Yong’s situation, it was even more complicated. What was the relationship between Zhang Yong and Yang Yi? Master and disciple, friends, and Zhang Yong had joined the Organization of Water to help out, plain and simple.

Yang Yi couldn’t offer Zhang Yong anything now. If Zhang Yong was willing to stay and help, that was favor. If not, it was his right.

As for Schultz, expecting a young man who hadn’t officially joined to have a high degree of loyalty to the Organization was self-deception.

And then there was Boer, who now had no choice. As a billionaire, why would he follow Yang Yi if he weren’t pushed into a corner with no escape? Boer couldn’t leave for now, but to expect him to feel any sense of allegiance to the Organization was nonsense.

And this was just the complexity amongst those in London; let’s not forget that Yang Yi still had a group of followers in Mexico.

Talent is always the most valuable asset, no matter the circumstance.

Yang Yi had a group of subordinates with exceptional capabilities, but his worry was that these subordinates were too outstanding.

Each was a top figure in their own field, and in the peculiar microcosm of a prison, whomever had the biggest fists was the boss. Thus, Yang Yi was the leader of these people in prison. But after the escape, would these subordinates, who were forced by circumstances to follow Yang Yi, still listen to him once the tide turned in their favor?

Yang Yi was not adept at scheming, but he had to consider these issues. He was very clear about the situation he faced. He was currently in a phase of gathering strength, needing to leverage any power he could use. So, playing mind games while the Organization was still in its infancy and very weak would be foolish.

Yang Yi treated the current Organization of Water as a tripartite alliance. Perhaps in the future, he would establish an organization he could control completely, but for now, he would only try his best to maintain this still fragile entity.

However, looking into Mike’s eyes, Yang Yi realized he could no longer afford to hide his abilities.

Yang Yi fell silent for a while before finally nodding and said softly, "I know the current situation of the Organization, and yes, it’s a bit too loose now. But I do feel like I’m just a novice. If it’s just to show that I’m the boss of the Organization of Water, then..."

Mike let out a sigh of relief and then nodded, "Being intelligent doesn’t mean being emotionally intelligent, being emotionally intelligent doesn’t mean you’re good at doing things, being good at doing things doesn’t mean you’re good at managing. You can use a knife to kill, but I’m afraid you only know how to kill with a knife. Now it seems, at least you have some ideas. Tell me, how do you plan to run your Organization of Water? Note that I said, run ’your’ Organization of Water!"

Mike emphasized the word "your" heavily.

Yang Yi hesitated for a moment, then decided to be frank and open about his own thoughts.
