Yang Yi slept uncomfortably, but he was too exhausted and too sleepy to notice once he lay down.

Until he was awakened by an excited shout.

"The target has appeared! The target has appeared!"

Following Schultz’s shout, Yang Yi snapped awake from his sleep and immediately sat up.

Mike also sat up straight from the couch and said in a deep voice, "Where?"

Schultz replied urgently, "The target just showed up, now within the base station range of a building on Clichy Street in the 17th arrondissement of Paris."

Mike looked at the satellite map and after a short contemplation, loudly called out, "Owl!"

Brian opened the door, and then the three of them walked out together.

Mike pointed at the computer and said solemnly, "The cell phone signal has appeared, we need to find Bass. Right now, we don’t know how many people are following him or what he is doing in Paris, so I need someone to go and scout."

Yang Yi immediately said, "I’ll go. I’m the only one who has seen Bass."

Mike glanced at his watch and then said to Yang Yi with a serious face, "Of course you’re going."

After saying that, Mike looked toward Brian.

Brian just so happened to be looking at Mike too. After they exchanged glances, Mike said in a low voice, "With Yang Yi at the core, the three of you provide protection nearby. You know what to do for the specifics."

"Of course we do."

Mike turned to Yang Yi and said in a deep voice, "You search for the core where Bass is. Everyone else will provide protection around you. Upon finding Bass, you must assassinate him on the spot, regardless of the surrounding environment!"

Yang Yi wanted to capture Bass even more, to inquire from him the whereabouts of the other members of Destroyer. If he killed Bass right away, that major lead would be lost.

But Yang Yi respected Mike’s authority. Since Mike had said so, it was best to follow his orders.

Mike turned to Xiao Ran and Zhang Yong, and then he said to Zhang Yong, "I’m not very familiar with how formidable you are, but I’ve heard your combat skills are very strong."

Zhang Yong nodded and spread his hands, "It’s not bad, at least until now I haven’t met a match. If you want me to capture Bass alive, with the cooperation of others, I don’t think it would be too difficult."

Mike shook his head and said, "Bass is an assassin. The likelihood of an assassin being captured alive is not high, so our primary objective is to kill the target. Only if the conditions are very favorable and we indeed have control of the situation will we consider capturing Bass alive. Of course, it would be best to kill Bass silently without firing a shot, but if it’s not convenient, there’s no need to hesitate—use whatever you have."

Mike then looked at Xiao Ran and said, "You provide long-range protection, so you must stay in the car. Be aware, if the situation becomes uncontrollable, even if you might die immediately after taking a shot, you must shoot Bass."

Xiao Ran nodded and said, "I have no problem with that."

Mike said solemnly, "We are launching an attack during the search. There are too many uncontrollable factors throughout the operation. There is only one chance, and once an assassin realizes they have been exposed, they will go back into hiding. We cannot keep wasting time on a few assassins; this time, we can only succeed, not fail."

Brian waved his hand and said indifferently, "You’ve said a bit too much. Intelligence always repeats the same things over and over again, as if worried the plan isn’t detailed enough, but let me tell you this is an assassination operation, and you don’t need to overthink it."

Mike didn’t get angry. After pondering for a moment, he smiled and said, "Yes, you’re the action team. Alright then, you decide how to proceed."

Brian waved his arm, saying, "Let’s move. Sea God, disguise yourself, and then we can set off."

Yang Yi looked towards Kate, and Kate, full of confidence, said, "I’ll do your makeup."

As Yang Yi sat down on the sofa, Kate opened her bag that she had taken from the hotel, which contained, besides a few pieces of clothing, all kinds of makeup products.

Of course, these weren’t the kind of makeup products used by girls for daily wear, but rather those used for disguises.

Kate sized up Yang Yi for a moment, then she whispered, "Bass has seen you before, so you need to look very different from before."

Kate didn’t start right away, she continued to observe Yang Yi.

Kate began to apply some silicone-like substance on Yang Yi’s face, making his cheeks appear fuller. Soon, Yang Yi’s face was completely transformed.

The fillers on his face were still quite noticeable, but after applying a thick layer of powder, followed by a dab of what seemed like natural skin-colored pigment, Yang Yi’s appearance shifted from that of an Asian to a Caucasian.

The hands and neck also had their colors changed, and even the hair color was altered. In about half an hour, Yang Yi had become a Caucasian in his mid-thirties.

Just like a woman’s makeup can change one’s appearance, the extent of the change depends on whether the makeup is heavy or light. A light makeup is not easy to detect, whereas a heavy makeup, like Yang Yi’s which completely altered his appearance, can reveal signs if someone stares closely enough, such as unnatural expressions or details like sweat pores that indicate a disguise.

But Kate’s skills were truly impressive. Unless someone looked very closely, it was virtually impossible to tell that Yang Yi had completely changed his face.

Mike carefully examined Yang Yi’s face, nodded, and then said to Kate, "Masterful, absolutely fantastic. Top experts couldn’t do better than this. To achieve this level in half an hour, you are incredibly skilled."

Kate wasn’t smug, but rather spoke with a hint of sorrow, "Three years of training, and if you practice makeup whenever you’re tired, anyone could reach this level."

"It still requires talent."

After being praised by Mike once more, Kate spoke softly, "Mr. Cheese, I want to go too. I’m not a little girl who needs looking after. I want to take revenge with my own hands, may I?"

Mike looked at Yang Yi and said, "That’s a decision for Sea God to make. You have to ask him."

Yang Yi had worked with Kate before. He knew she was definitely not the type to cause trouble, so he naturally had no objections.

"You can go, but you must follow orders."

Kate nodded and said, "Of course, I understand how difficult and dangerous this is, and I’ve long passed the age of being impulsive."

Yang Yi glanced at his watch and said, "If we’re ready, let’s set off."

Mike called out loudly to Schultz, "Lightning, reconfirm the target’s location."

Schultz answered loudly, "The target’s location hasn’t changed."

Since this was an assassination mission, and the destination was too far away, well beyond the working range of radio, there would be no more commands from Mike. Command wasn’t needed. Upon spotting Bass or any person from Destroyer, there was no need for other options, just one word, kill.
