Chapter 1348: Chapter 1353: Emergency Interrogation

The four of them started getting into the car. So far, none of the hotel staff or waiters have tried to stop them from leaving. Not to mention they looked rather miserable, unlike terrorists, and even if they were terrorists, who would dare stop them?

Yang Yi didn’t rush into action. He watched the car start up, honked twice to disperse the gathered crowd, and then roared the engine and sped away.

Yang Yi also drove out, his speed not slow either.

If he kept following that car, they’d soon notice.

But so be it if they noticed. This opportunity was rare; Yang Yi figured he’d never come across such a chance again. There were only four people involved, and now three of them were badly injured by the bomb. Missing this chance would be an unforgivable mistake.

It’s time to act when you should.

Yang Yi floored the accelerator and sped up. Sure enough, as soon as he caught up, the car ahead noticed something was off.

Car chase?

What a joke. Yang Yi was alone, while the opposing side had four people. Even if at least one was seriously injured, the remaining still had the ability to shoot.

This kind of opponent would kill with a single shot. If Yang Yi dared to give them a chance to shoot, he’d be dead, or at least seriously wounded.

Because these weren’t brainless villains in a movie, who just shoot and miss.

So Yang Yi couldn’t afford delay. He sped out and directly targeted the back of the car in front.

Rear-ending was a must, but not directly.

A direct collision would deploy the airbags, leaving Yang Yi dizzy and hardly able to move, let alone take on four people.

So Yang Yi aimed for the rear wheel of the car in front.

The front car started swerving, probably trying to find a chance to crash Yang Yi’s car, but this was a test of driving skills.

Yang Yi wouldn’t say anything else, but when it came to driving skills, he’s exceptionally skilled.

His hands continuously turned the steering wheel while his foot never left the gas pedal. When the first shot broke the glass and gunfire started from the car in front, Yang Yi’s car had already struck the left rear side of the vehicle with a corner of his front bumper.

After the collision, he kept accelerating, causing the front car to spin out, pushing it forward on the road.

If someone can still shoot amid such a fierce collision, they’re not just talented; they’d be supernatural, but this safety period was short. As the two cars settled into a relative steadiness, Yang Yi abruptly stepped on the gas again.

The car in front was pushed to overturn, flipping twice on the road. Yang Yi then quickly hit the brakes, turned the wheel, and managed to come to a stop before the car lost control and hit a utility pole.

The car stopped, and Yang Yi pushed the door open. He first aimed his gun at the car but didn’t dare approach directly.

As long as there was one person still conscious inside, and holding a gun, approaching would be suicide. He had gained the initiative, but hadn’t fully controlled the situation yet.

What to do, considering four people were in the overturned car ahead, and although they’d failed, they were still formidable.

Actually, it’s simple to solve. No matter how strong the opponents are, just don’t give them a chance to strike.

As a matter of fact, Yang Yi had always done just that.

If this ambush turned into a gunfight, Yang Yi would be utterly defeated. Luckily, he only let the opponent fire once, and it was through the glass, posing basically no threat.

Yang Yi crouched behind the hood, pulled a smoke grenade, and threw it from a distance.

The smoke grenade couldn’t be tossed into the car, but stopped right next to it. The billowing white smoke still entered the vehicle, and with such a confined space, any amount would be unbearable.

Yang Yi still held an agent-special smoke grenade, which not only produced smoke but also had a strong sedative effect. However, he felt it wasn’t necessary to use it now, better to save it, as Annastasia’s equipment, though comprehensive, wasn’t abundant, so it would be better to conserve.

Amidst intense coughing, someone struggled out from the back window, followed shortly by another from the front window.

Only two could crawl out; the remaining two didn’t move, seeming too badly injured to escape from the overturned car.

Yang Yi raised his gun, the first shot hitting the person emerging from the back window in the leg, the second shot missed, although he intended to hit the arm of the person in the front.

Feeling his face flush, his sometimes unpredictable aim was truly infuriating.

"This is a warning shot. If you don’t put down the gun, the next one will be aimed at your head!"

Yang Yi said coldly. The driver, whose eyes streamed with tears and snot from the smoke grenade, hesitated, but eventually threw down his gun in frustration, knelt on the ground, and placed his hands behind his head.

The one with the bullet in his leg, however, hopped twice on one leg, opened his eyes only to close them again, and then shouted angrily, "Fuck! Fuck you! Fuck you! Why did you hit my leg with a warning shot, fuck you!"

Despite the cursing, he still wouldn’t drop his gun, prompting Yang Yi to helplessly fire again, this time hitting the stubborn guy’s other leg.

"Put down the gun. Didn’t you realize I was holding back? From the explosion till now, if I wanted you dead, you’d have died twice by now. Now, put down the gun, lie on the ground!"

The man shot in the leg wanted to resist to the end, but one wrong move after another since the explosion left them no room to reverse the situation. Finally, he tossed the gun aside.

"You, the one kneeling, I know you have a knife in your calf. Take it out and throw it away. I know you have another gun; throw it away. I want to talk with you, but if you still refuse to cooperate, you know what I’ll do. You should be very clear about that."

After a brief moment of silence, the two began silently throwing things far away, not pulling them out directly but placing them on the ground and pushing them away.

"My buddies are still in the car. They’re dying, and the police will arrive soon. You don’t want to wait for them, do you?"

Yang Yi certainly didn’t want to wait for the police. He quickly went over, first kicking the still-smoking smoke grenade aside, then aimed his gun at the person with the leg wound, and said grimly, "One question, no thinking allowed. Answer within three seconds; both of you answer together. Fail to answer, and all four of you die. Discrepant answers, all die. Listen carefully. You... what’s your name."

"We... uh, I’m John."

"I’m Miles, oh no, he’s John."

Yang Yi wasn’t actually interested in their names, but he needed to distract them with a question.

So as the two hesitated and even made a mistake, Yang Yi didn’t press them but swiftly asked, "How did you find me?"
