Chapter 1182: Chapter 1187 Singing
Yang Yi and Kate walked out of the elegant restaurant, and as Yang Yi reached his car, Paul approached him.
"The situation with the Russian Gang is under surveillance. The girls held captive have been rescued and seem to be getting proper arrangements. However, more girls have scattered across Europe. Given our own capabilities, rescuing them all is too difficult. Anna suggested turning this issue into a hot topic to create public pressure. If we can push for an international joint action, that would be the best option."
Yang Yi nodded and said, "True. It’s impossible to rescue them ourselves. But since we’ve encountered this issue, we need to follow through. Candy took over handling it, right?"
"That will only happen after you make the decision, but Candy is indeed ready."
"Great. Give her a budget of ten million US Dollars. If that’s not enough, increase it. Turn this issue into a hot topic."
"Understood. Second matter: the North African Gang’s situation is a bit simpler. From Shahed’s mouth, we’ve basically figured out the core composition of the gang."
"How many members?"
"A total of twenty-two core members. We unanimously believe these people have committed grave sins and need to be eliminated."
"That many?"
"Yes. The good news is most of these people are in London, but a few are in North Africa."
Yang Yi pondered for a moment, then finally spoke softly, "This kind of task is troublesome and offers no benefit. But since we’ve come across it, we’ll follow through. These people are your responsibility—I mean, leave it to Pandora Box. No deadline; eliminate them one by one."
"All of them?"
"All of them."
"Alright. I’ll gladly undertake this charity work, punishing evil to make this world a little less dark. Um, there’s an issue: the North African Gang is colluding with two British officials, and one of their major clients is a knight."
Yang Yi was already aware that those involved with the North African Gang were always wealthy or noble.
Should these people also be dealt with?
Yes, Yang Yi thought so—they should.
Because he couldn’t stand them.
"Whether officials or a knight, find a way to take them down. But handle it carefully."
"Got it. They’ll die from accidents. We’ll be discreet."
Yang Yi thought for a moment, then nodded and said, "That’s all for now. Do it beautifully. Don’t let the guilty escape punishment. We’ve got plenty of time, so take it slow. No need to rush."
Paul smiled, then casually saluted Yang Yi with two fingers and said with a pleased expression, "I enjoy being God’s emissary to punish evil. Thanks."
Paul turned and walked away. Yang Yi tapped the car remote, unlocking the door.
After Kate got into the car, she smiled at Yang Yi and asked, "What should we do?"
Yang Yi looked at Kate, smiled, and said, "Anything is fine. Today, your happiness is what matters most."
Kate thought for a moment and said, "These past few days have been... suffocating. The world I’ve seen is too dark. I want to relax a bit."
"Alright, what should we do then?"
"You decide."
Yang Yi was hesitant about making such decisions. After thinking seriously for a while, he cautiously suggested, "Should we go to a nightclub? How about dancing? It’s completely unrestrained."
"No, because I know you don’t like nightlife."
"Hmm, we could go sing!"
Yang Yi laughed, satisfied as he nodded and said, "Exactly, we could go sing. Chinatown has KTV. Have you been? We can sing whatever we like, just the two of us."
Kate’s face lit up with a confident smile as she nodded and said, "Alright, let’s go sing."
While everyone else in the Organization of Water was busy, Yang Yi and Kate went off to sing.
KTVs in London weren’t as good as those back home, but Yang Yi valued the atmosphere more. Hardware quality wasn’t that big a deal to him.
"What kind of songs do you like?"
"Anything you like, I like too. Let’s start with your favorites."
Kate asked, and Yang Yi answered. Then Yang Yi asked Kate back, and after a moment of thought, Kate smiled and said, "I want to hear you sing first."
"Why?"
"Because I’ve never heard you sing."
Yang Yi thought for a bit, then nodded and said, "Alright, I’ll start."
Yang Yi chose an English song to sing first, one he was familiar with—James Blunt’s "You’re Beautiful."
As Yang Yi’s singing began, Kate was stunned. Her jaw dropped in surprise before covering her mouth in astonishment.
To be fair, Yang Yi’s voice didn’t perfectly resemble the original, yet his singing was undeniably beautiful—especially when he passionately sang "You’re beautiful" while gazing deeply into Kate’s eyes.
When Yang Yi finished the song, Kate exclaimed in astonishment, "You sing surprisingly well!"
Yang Yi nodded with a smile and said, "Back when I was in college, I sang this song while playing the guitar at a New Year’s Eve party performance. After that, I never sang again."
"Why? Why did you stop singing?"
Yang Yi exhaled deeply and replied, "Because too many girls chased after me. It was troublesome, and I had too many other things to do."
"What things?"
"Studying. Gaming."
Kate paused for a moment before smiling and saying, "Fair enough. You made the right choice."
Kate took the microphone from Yang Yi and smiled as she said, "I let you go first because I thought you might lose the courage to sing after hearing me."
"Why?"
"Because I sing too well."
Kate wasn’t joking—she was serious. After she finished her song, Yang Yi clapped his hands and laughed, "That’s truly amazing. If you trained professionally, you could be a pop star. Why didn’t you try becoming one?"
"Because I have more important things to do."
"What things?"
"Becoming a spy. And waiting for you to show up."
Yang Yi laughed, pulled Kate into his arms, and said solemnly, "A good choice. Alright, what should we sing next? Hmm, I want to sing a Russian song."
"What song?"
"’The Sacred War.’ Uh, is it inappropriate? I just feel inspired."
"Sing whatever you want. I’ll sing with you."
The two of them sang "The Sacred War" at the KTV. After finishing the song, Yang Yi picked a Spanish song next.
After that, he chose a German song—a rock song from Rammstein.
When the two had sung six songs in six different languages, during a break, a waiter couldn’t resist knocking on their door and then entered timidly, saying, "Sorry for interrupting. I’m here to deliver the fruit platter."
"We didn’t order one."
Seeing Yang Yi’s surprised expression, the waiter shyly explained, "Oh, this is complimentary."
After giving Yang Yi a lingering glance, the waiter left. Yang Yi sighed helplessly and said to Kate, "As always, it’s hard to sing without distractions. It’s frustrating—really frustrating."
