Spy-x-War Showdown
Chapter 1179 - 1184: It’s Obvious, Isn’t It?

Chapter 1179: Chapter 1184: It’s Obvious, Isn’t It?

This time, Yang Yi truly caught the scent of a conspiracy, which was why he said, "We’re in big trouble."

With every ounce of vigilance he could muster, prepared to face a level of caution that gangs typically lack, Yang Yi said in a grave tone, "Everyone be cautious. Stay alert to the surroundings. We’re pulling out."

If this is a conspiracy, then it would indeed be a perfect opportunity to take down the Organization of Water in one fell swoop.

The most critical members of the Organization of Water are all here.

Yang Yi even began to connect the dots as to why Danny had been attacked.

If someone knew about the relationship between Yang Yi and Dark Night Knight, they could attack Dark Night Knight, forcing Yang Yi to gather all his forces to rescue and assist him. That way, they could eliminate the Organization of Water completely.

The first person Yang Yi suspected was Aaron.

One thing to note is that Aaron doesn’t yet know the makeup of the Organization of Water’s core personnel.

But if Aaron wanted to take out Yang Yi—or rather, to utterly wipe out the Organization of Water—then he now has the perfect chance.

Was it carelessness?

Was it complacency?

Yang Yi felt extremely uneasy, because he suspected he might have severely misjudged Aaron’s intentions.

Clearly, Aaron represents the Grey-cloaked People. If he had wanted to take out Yang Yi, it would’ve been easy. But he didn’t—which led Yang Yi to believe he had value, and that Aaron wouldn’t kill him.

Now, however, Yang Yi suspected Aaron’s ambitions might be far greater than he had imagined—or perhaps that the Grey-cloaked People’s appetite was larger than his assessment. They didn’t just want Yang Yi gone; they wanted to uproot his Organization of Water entirely.

Just like right now—if this were a ploy by the Grey-cloaked People, then the Organization of Water would indeed be in grave danger.

So, at this moment, Yang Yi was extremely tense.

But what was even more puzzling was that nothing had actually happened.

The Organization of Water withdrew with the utmost caution. They suffered no attacks along the way. And this time, Yang Yi didn’t dare to swagger back to the location Danny had provided as their safehouse.

Instead, they carefully made their way to a remote hideout in the outskirts, ensuring there was no possibility of surveillance nearby. Only then did Yang Yi lift Bashanov out of the car again.

"You said it was Shahed who ordered you to act against Dark Night Knight?"

"Yes, it was him!"

Yang Yi said flatly, "But Shahed denies it."

Bashanov paused, then exploded in anger, "That bastard! But isn’t it obvious? Of course Shahed wouldn’t admit it. If you bring him here and make him say that in front of me—"

Yang Yi gestured, and someone brought Shahed out from the trunk of another car.

Shahed was thrown to the ground, right next to Bashanov.

Yang Yi said in a deep voice, "Alright, you two can confront each other now."

Bashanov looked at Shahed, then asked with confusion, "Who is this guy?"

Shahed stared at Bashanov, saying, "Who is he? I don’t know him. What do you want me to say to him?"

Bashanov, already tortured enough, spread his hands in frustration and roared, "Where the hell did this guy come from? Why are you throwing him at me?"

Yang Yi let out a quiet sigh and nodded to Brian, before signaling to Annastasia who was standing in the back. Then, in a serious tone, he said, "He is Shahed."

Bashanov turned to look at Shahed, then said with utter bewilderment, "He’s Shahed? Same name? Idiots, you’ve got the wrong guy!"

Shahed furiously yelled, "You’re the idiot! I am Shahed! I get it, I get it! What did you say to make them come after me? Speak up!"

Bashanov glared at Shahed and said, "I was talking about Giza Shahed from the North African Gang!"

"I am Giza Shahed!"

"Giza Shahed Muzaib!"

Shahed snarled through gritted teeth, "Yes, I am Giza Shahed Muzaib!"

Bashanov froze for a moment, then shook his head and said, "Where the hell did you come from? What does this mean? I don’t know him. I’ve met with Shahed many times—I don’t know him!"

Shahed shouted angrily, "Bastard, I’ve never seen you! Never! What did you do to me?"

Bashanov raised his hand and said to Yang Yi, "This must be some kind of mistake, right?"

Alright, it could be confirmed now—regardless of who was lying, it was clear that Shahed wasn’t the Shahed Bashanov was referring to.

Yang Yi tilted his head slightly and said, "Tell me about the Shahed you know."

Bashanov said blankly, "Leader of the North African Gang. Sells organs, but also trades women when the price is right..."

Shahed yelled furiously, "That’s me! But I’ve never done any business with you—I don’t even know you!"

Bashanov muttered, "I’m Bashanov."

Shahed froze for a moment, then trembled as he stammered, "Russian Gang?"

"Yes."

"I’ve heard of you, but I’ve never met you. What the hell is going on?"

Bashanov exhaled slowly, then asked in a hushed voice, "How are you going to prove your identity?"

Shahed roared back, "I was shot in the leg in my own clinic and dragged here. I’m dying! Dying! And now you’re asking me to prove my identity? Prove what to you?"

Bashanov looked at Yang Yi, visibly torn, and said, "This is a... conspiracy?"

"Obviously, yes."

Bashanov still looked confused as he said, "But why? Why would someone impersonate Shahed to come into contact with me—just to get me to... offend you?"

"Yes, to draw us out and then destroy you."

Bashanov still didn’t seem to understand. "But who are you people? What exactly is it you do?"

After a brief moment of thought, Yang Yi responded with a calm expression, "Spies."

"Spies? Spies would... Dark Night Knight’s friends, right?"

"Yes. You attacked Dark Night Knight, so we’re here to utterly eradicate you."

Bashanov grabbed his hair with both hands, his voice filled with agony, and said, "You’re spies?! But I’ve never had anything to do with spies! Dammit! Damn it all! I’ve been used? Turned into a pawn?"

Yang Yi nodded, "Obviously, yes."

Shahed shouted, "I’m innocent! You understand now, right? I’m innocent! Fine—I won’t ask you to let me go—but can we talk about how much I need to pay for you to release me? I give up. I admit defeat. Let’s end this here!"

Yang Yi simply smiled faintly.

Let him go?

For a scumbag who trafficked human organs to think he could walk free once he fell into Yang Yi’s hands? Not even in his wildest dreams.

No matter what the truth was, one thing was certain now: Shahed was doomed. Completely and utterly doomed.
