Chapter 1159: Chapter 1164: No Evidence

Yang Yi’s call was casual, Justin answered casually, but Gary Keene was the only one who spoke without any casualness.

Why? The reason is simple. Yang Yi could make this call, Justin could answer this call — this already showed their relationship was anything but normal. And Justin was already the head of the Cicero Family, one of the few hidden tycoons in the world, a true underground elite.

Though Gary Keene didn’t need to fear underground elites, Justin’s status was undoubtedly one he had to respect. Even if they belonged to two different worlds, those two worlds inevitably overlapped at times.

Now then, the first step of pulling strings and showing one’s influence had been accomplished.

By now, Gary Keene had realized that Yang Yi’s status in the intelligence circle wasn’t just that of a mere spy.

But it wasn’t over yet. Revealing the connection to Justin was just the appetizer; the main course was still to come.

Yang Yi put away the phone, exchanged a calm glance with Gary Keene, and then, as the waiter placed the dishes down and left, Yang Yi picked up his knife and fork and spoke softly, "This time, my purpose in coming to the United Kingdom is to establish a smoother, more convenient communication channel with you. Additionally, I’d like to build a cooperative relationship. I can provide you with a lot of intelligence."

"Do you have any important intelligence now?"

"Of course I do. Since I’m here, I have to bring you a gift for our first meeting."

Yang Yi put down his knife and fork, then looked seriously at Gary Keene and said, "I’m a CIA operative, that much needs no repeating. However, my identity as a CIA operative is somewhat special. I’m part of the CIA Operations Division. I won’t elaborate on my rank or position, but the key point is, I’m also part of the CIA Administration Division’s Security Department. I’m an internal double agent, within the CIA itself."

Gary Keene raised his eyebrows and responded, "You mentioned this before, was it because of Aaron?"

Yang Yi smiled and then suddenly turned serious, replying, "Yes, I said that last time. But what I didn’t say was that now I have officially been assigned to investigate Aaron."

"It’s no longer a personal venture but an official investigation?"

"Correct."

Gary Keene smiled slightly and commented, "Now, that’s a major case. Very important intelligence."

Yang Yi replied calmly, "This is the gift I’m presenting to you: intelligence concerning the CIA."

Gary Keene frowned and said, "Any evidence? Just stating it makes this intelligence meaningless."

Yang Yi shook his head and said, "There is evidence, but I can’t give it to you now. If you truly need the evidence, I can provide the incomplete pieces I have. But this would require me to take significant risks. So, if this intelligence is useful to you, I might consider taking that risk to give you evidence. If it’s of no use to you, then just knowing about it should suffice. There’s no need to push for evidence, am I right?"

Gary Keene smiled and remarked, "I don’t see any sincerity from you yet."

Yang Yi exhaled and said, "You don’t need to question the accuracy of this intelligence. Between professionals, I have a wealth of intelligence to exchange — all guaranteed to be valuable, very valuable."

Seeing Gary Keene still wear an indifferent expression, Yang Yi pondered for a moment, then leaned closer and lowered his voice: "For example, Brexit."

Gary Keene appeared surprised, his eyes widening slightly, and said with a perplexed expression, "What did you just say?"

Yang Yi shrugged and replied, "Is that so hard to comprehend? Your Prime Minister mentioned back in early 2013 that the United Kingdom could leave the EU. Now, we have obtained intelligence that confirms the UK will definitely hold a referendum, and the result will inevitably be leaving Europe."

Gary Keene grew even more astonished. He whispered, "Mate, what nonsense are you spouting now?"

Yang Yi smiled and replied, "I’m not sure if you’re playing dumb, but this isn’t a secret anymore. The CIA has conducted a special investigation, proving this intelligence is true and accurate. Which means..."

Gary Keene blurted out, "I don’t know!"

Yang Yi smiled and said, "Well, now you do. You know what this means, don’t you?"

Gary Keene’s face darkened as he nodded faintly.

Yang Yi was relentless, asking, "What does it mean?"

Gary Keene exhaled and answered, "If what you’re saying is true, it means there’s a CIA... mole close to our Prime Minister."

Yang Yi replied nonchalantly, "This is your second gift — again with no evidence. But I believe if you report this case, they’ll investigate it quickly. Firstly, they might confirm the value of my intelligence, and secondly, they’ll prove that the information I’m providing is meaningful, even if it lacks evidence, wouldn’t you agree?"

Gary Keene murmured, "If this intelligence turns out to be true, then... I’ll get promoted and receive a raise, and you’ll become our most important double agent."

Yang Yi’s intelligence obviously wasn’t provided by Aaron but did indeed come from the CIA, and Yang Yi didn’t mind delivering it as a gift to the British.

Gary Keene felt a hint of excitement. As he mentioned, if the UK was planning something far-reaching that hasn’t even been implemented, something so secret that even its own cabinet doesn’t know—yet the CIA is already aware—then this matter would indeed be chilling.

Someone was doomed to fail, and that doomed person would become a stepping stone for both Yang Yi and Gary Keene.

After another brief silence, Gary Keene suddenly said, "You’ve given me two pieces of information, both related to the CIA. You’re selling out CIA interests without hesitation, is this an attempt to showcase your value as an independent intelligence dealer rather than as a CIA operative?"

Yang Yi answered seriously, "Yes and no. I’m giving you these two pieces of intelligence because it’s useful to you. What’s the point of giving you intelligence that’s useless?"

Gary Keene pressed his lips together in thought for a moment before speaking in a low voice: "What do you want in return?"

Yang Yi smiled, then said solemnly, "What I want to do is very straightforward. First, I have a friend currently facing some trouble."

"How big is the trouble?"

"Not too big, but it’s definitely trouble. And I want to establish a primary intelligence station in London — my personal one. Of course, it won’t cause any loss to your side. I’m sure you understand the significance of London to spies."

Gary Keene smiled and said, "Sounds like it won’t be easy to resolve, but go ahead and tell me more. Let’s see if I can help."

Yang Yi smiled and replied, "You’ll definitely be able to help because I plan to handle the most difficult parts myself. What I need from you is to smooth out the aftermath."

"Tell me more."

"Here’s the situation..."
