Yang Yi’s confident tone puzzled Anton, although Anton understood Yang Yi’s capabilities.

"Cupid? How could it possibly be?"

Anton was astonished while Yang Yi affirmed confidently, "It’s him, definitely him."

"Did you see clearly?"

"I only saw a blurry figure, but it looked just as it did when I first encountered Cupid and he was escaping."

Yang Yi picked up his handgun.

After taking a deep breath, he said softly, "Where did Cupid go?"

Paul said in a serious tone, "I don’t have a high vantage point here, so I couldn’t clearly see where he went, but he entered the alley between two buildings. If nothing unexpected happens, he should pass through the alley and then through a larger street before he could get behind you."

Yang Yi pondered momentarily and then whispered, "Cupid still wants to kill me, he’s out to kill me!"

Anton muttered quietly, "No kidding, who here doesn’t want to kill you now?"

Yang Yi touched the top of his head with his left hand and then suddenly said, "Hold back the enemy’s attack, I’ll go to where Cupid might appear and wait for him!"

Anton glanced at Yang Yi, and Yang Yi continued softly, "Yes, Nicholas is hard to eliminate, but Cupid must die."

Paul said gravely, "Calm down."

"I am calm. Nicholas doesn’t matter, Cupid must die. I can’t tolerate a shadow always following behind me; I need to kill him."

Having said this calmly yet firmly, Yang Yi looked at Anton and said, "Come with me to eliminate him."

Anton nodded, then he and Yang Yi quickly ran backwards.

Yang Yi said softly, "Holy Water, position."

"Turn right ahead, it’s the most likely place to encounter Cupid, but my line of sight is limited and I can’t provide an exact location alert. I can’t monitor Cupid’s position either, if you’re certain that person is him."

"Got it, taking a gamble, I need to enter the street, right? How far?"

"It’s quite far, about five hundred meters. After that, you should encounter Cupid within a distance of two hundred meters, but in extreme cases, you might meet within one hundred meters."

"Understood."

Anton urgently said, "What have you realized now? What’s not right?"

"Cupid shouldn’t let me see him, he shouldn’t have allowed me to notice him!"

Looking at the decisive Yang Yi, Anton said gravely, "He just flitted by, just that swiftly; aside from you, who could recognize him? It’s nighttime, and from a distance, fuck, I even doubt whether you saw him clearly?"

Yang Yi suddenly raised his head and whispered, "A trap, is this a trap?"

Anton shook his head, truly beginning to feel confused.

Yang Yi whispered, "Retreat! Go back!"

Yang Yi slowly started to move backward, and Anton had no choice but to follow suit.

Anton raised his rifle again, aiming at the street corner.

Anton began to slowly back away, but just then, someone suddenly appeared from around the corner.

Anton immediately fired, but he still missed.

Yang Yi took a breath and said fiercely, "Cupid!"

Anton felt confused, for the first time in many years he felt like his brain wasn’t functioning properly.

"He appeared already prepared to retreat back, he didn’t intend to get shot, so he just couldn’t help himself, wanting to see if I really fell for it."

Yang Yi paused to think, then whispered, "We don’t go. He knows I didn’t take the bait, he will come find me again. Retreat!"

Yang Yi turned and walked back, Anton urgently exclaimed, "Are you crazy?"

Yang Yi exhaled, saying, "He won’t appear anymore, he won’t come out again. He used himself as bait, but since I didn’t fall for the trap, he won’t initiate. So, no one will appear behind us."

"You’re so sure?"
