Chapter 1079: Chapter 1084: Creating Weaknesses
The sales assistant had a pen on her, which she immediately handed to Yang Yi.
"Can I get another piece of paper?"
"Sorry, just a moment..."
"No, it’s alright, may I use your hand instead?"
The sales assistant hesitated but still extended her hand.
Yang Yi grabbed the sales assistant’s hand, gazed at her affectionately for a moment, then wrote a phone number on her palm with the pen.
The sales assistant didn’t refuse or pull her hand away.
Yang Yi folded her hand closed, then quickly kissed it and whispered, "Trust me, I’m absolutely the best choice for a boyfriend. Call me after work, please."
Completely disregarding another sales assistant’s gaze, Yang Yi acted as if no one else was around.
The sales assistant hesitated, then murmured softly, "I... might."
Being so boldly pursued by a wealthy and importantly handsome man was enough to make the hearts of most girls flutter, even if they knew it wouldn’t lead to anything serious. But who cares?
Kate and Bonnie came out; they wanted Yang Yi to make the final call on whether the clothes really looked good or not.
Yang Yi politely said, "They look great, really great. Let’s pay and leave."
Kate and Bonnie each picked out a piece of clothing, and Yang Yi casually tossed out a black card, a credit card representing his identity and strength, handing it over to the sales assistant he had left his phone number with.
After spending over thirty thousand Euros, it was time to switch to another store. As Kate pushed Yang Yi out the door, he turned around and looked deep into the eyes of the sales assistant, then made a phone call gesture.
Kate pushed the wheelchair, Bonnie walked beside Yang Yi, and the peculiar trio could hardly avoid attracting attention on the street.
They entered another store, this time selling bags. While Kate and Bonnie were choosing their favorite bags, Yang Yi voluntarily waited on the side, looking somewhat bored and not at all like a man out shopping with newly-acquired girlfriends.
So Yang Yi flirted with another sales assistant, leaving his phone number as well. As for whether it would succeed, that didn’t matter.
After visiting a dozen shops, Yang Yi selectively chatted up four really beautiful women, leaving them all his phone number.
Finally, when it was time to go back, Yang Yi took a deep breath of relief after getting into the car.
Bonnie’s expression was neutral, but Kate said sternly, "Why are you playing the playboy again."
Yang Yi loosened his collar and whispered, "I need to show people my weakness, and if I don’t have one, I’ll create one."
Kate said indifferently, "What if those girls really do call you?"
"I’ll answer, but I’ll have to drag it out. Right now, it’s just the three of us. Once more people are here to protect me, I’ll arrange to meet them."
After saying this, Yang Yi pondered for a while and said, "We won’t go back to the safe house; we’ll stay at a hotel. Tonight, we’ll start in one room, and then Kate, you’ll show signs of being on your period and get a separate room for yourself. Bonnie and I will stay in one room."
When Yang Yi said this, his mind was truly without any ulterior motives, but he was also genuinely worried about Kate getting angry.
As for Kate, she was probably angry, or more precisely, jealous, but she wouldn’t show it.
Having chosen Yang Yi as a boyfriend meant she had to accept all of this.
As for Yang Yi, would he be happy because he would be openly together with Bonnie? Of course not. He would feel awkward and embarrassed, not secretly pleased.
"Should we let everyone else know and have two of them come back first?"
Kate spoke, and Yang Yi shook his head, "No, we can’t be certain if someone is following us and even if there really is someone tailing us, we don’t know who it could be. I think if someone wanted me dead, they would have acted by now after discovering where I am. Since no one has, it might just be surveillance and not an assassination attempt, so the danger isn’t that high. Let’s not disrupt them."
Bonnie remained silent. Kate murmured, "Alright, which hotel are we staying in?"
"Doesn’t matter, the fancier the better. Book now, straight to the hotel."
Bonnie called to book a hotel, while Yang Yi leaned back in the rear seat. Now, he pondered, contemplating a plan that could lure out all the hidden enemies around them.
The usually silent Bonnie suddenly said, "It might just be my imagination."
Yang Yi looked up and said, "What?"
"I mean, it may just be my imagination. Perhaps someone just glanced at me—after all, I’m used to being watched by others, especially by men."
Yang Yi smiled and said, "Yeah, it could be a misunderstanding, but still, it’s better to be cautious. Let’s assume there really is someone watching us."
The three fell silent again. The situation was rather awkward; if it weren’t about official business, there really was nothing else to say.
Having booked the best hotel and the finest rooms, Yang Yi entered the room with the escort of the two women. Then, the three of them sat in the room with the TV on, each engrossed in their phones. Half an hour later, Kate went out to book another room on a different floor.
After waiting for Kate to leave, Bonnie suddenly asked, "Your girlfriend?"
"Yes, my girlfriend."
Bonnie exhaled softly, and after a moment of silence, murmured in a low voice, "Should I call now?"
Yang Yi also felt a bit awkward and whispered back, "Wait a bit. It’s still a bit early."
Bonnie spoke softly, "I’m going to take a shower and change my clothes."
Yang Yi lay flat on the bed, listening to the sounds coming from the bathroom, and heaved a long sigh.
Such an irritating day.
Bonnie came out wrapped in a bathrobe and sat opposite Yang Yi.
Looking at her watch, Bonnie murmured softly, "If it’s too early now, should we first have dinner and then do something else?"
"Mm, yes. Order room service, let them bring the food in. No need to go out."
Bonnie said softly, "Who do you think it could be?"
Yang Yi thought for a long time and said, "Most likely it’s the CIA, there’s also a chance of an assassin, but I think it’s not highly likely. As for others... I can’t think of any other people who would discover me and not act, so it must be the CIA or an assassin."
Bonnie nodded and said, "If it’s an assassin, it would be Nicholas who sent them, and if Nicholas has discovered your whereabouts, there should be a squad of people to take you down."
Yang Yi sighed and said, "Yeah, so this is troublesome. Unless we can be sure whether we are being followed or not, I really can’t sleep without keeping an eye open. Uh, do you have a gun? Are you good with guns?"
