Chapter 1047: Chapter 1052: Brazen

Back at the hotel, under Reggie’s admiring gaze, Yang Yi said lightly: "The mission is already half complete."

"How did you do it? We knew you brought her back to the hotel last night, but this was so fast, how did you manage it?"

Yang Yi smiled and then said nonchalantly, "Quite simple, personal charm, that’s about it, guys, I need to go catch some sleep, last night was truly crazy."

Yang Yi was about to head to his room but suddenly stopped and said, "To celebrate, dinner is on me tonight, it’s not fair for me to be enjoying while you two just wait."

Without further talk, Yang Yi returned to his room, which had been tidied up, and he quickly fell asleep on the bed.

Feeling drained, yet it made Yang Yi sleep soundly.

When he woke up, it was already evening. Yang Yi called up Ferguson and Reggie and the three dined at a famous restaurant near the hotel.

While eating, Yang Yi’s phone rang. He checked and saw that it was a call from Bonnie.

Yang Yi frowned and spoke displeasedly, "Women are trouble. They never know when to not show up."

Still, Yang Yi answered the call, then said deeply, "Hello, what is it."

"Dear, I’ve run into some trouble, I think I must move."

Bonnie’s voice sounded urgent, and Yang Yi frowned again and said, "Slow down, what happened?"

"Can I talk to you about it after seeing you? It’s really urgent, I can’t wait any longer."

Yang Yi frowned again, and then asked in a deep voice, "Do I need to come and get you?"

"If you could, I would be so grateful..."

Yang Yi put down the phone and told Ferguson, "There’s some trouble with Bonnie, seems something bad has happened, go pick her up for me. If you spot anything unusual, don’t rush into action, try to figure out what’s going on."

Ferguson hadn’t finished his meal yet, but he wiped his mouth with a napkin and stood up, nodding, "Understood."

After Ferguson left, Reggie looked at Yang Yi and asked, "Is something wrong?"

Yang Yi shrugged and said, "It’s a big deal to Bonnie, but a trivial matter to us, because... I can choose to ignore it, haha, let’s eat."

Yang Yi finished the meal nonchalantly, then he and Reggie headed back to the hotel, but once inside his own room, Yang Yi seemed to transform into a different person.

If Bonnie had a problem, how could it possibly be a minor issue, since Bonnie reached out to him herself in such a desperate tone, it surely meant something serious had happened.

Yang Yi picked up the radio he used to communicate with Anton, switched it on and whispered, "Be on alert."

He said just that, then immediately put the earpiece in his ear.

About an hour later, there was a knock on the door. Yang Yi opened it and saw Bonnie standing there with Ferguson right behind her.

Upon seeing Yang Yi, Bonnie immediately hugged his neck and began crying.

Yang Yi patted her back impatiently and said sternly, "Come in, no crying."

After pushing Bonnie into the room, Yang Yi looked at Ferguson who stepped forward and whispered in his ear, "Seems like the Russian mafia are onto her. When I picked her up, there were Russian mafia outside her apartment. Last time I took down the boss who controlled Bonnie, but a woman like Bonnie is of high value, she’s been targeted by another gang."

Yang Yi let out a soft sigh and said, "Is that all? Okay, I got it."

Ferguson nodded, turned to leave, but Yang Yi immediately called him back, saying, "Buddy, call Mark, you know what I mean."

After closing the door, Yang Yi looked at Bonnie who was still standing in the middle of the living room sobbing, and said impatiently, "What’s there to cry about? What are you afraid of at my place?"

Bonnie was crying, her expression also very panicked, then she hugged Yang Yi again.

"If it wasn’t for you, I really wouldn’t know what to do, thank you! Thank you, no one else will help me, only you can help me."

Bonnie cried very sadly, so Yang Yi knew the problem was serious.

If Bonnie wasn’t being surveilled, she wouldn’t act so convincingly at this time.

While hugging Yang Yi, Bonnie pressed twice on the lower back of Yang Yi, so Yang Yi let go of Bonnie, turned around, and leaned in to check Bonnie’s clothes.

There was a small, thread-like object on the lower back of the clothes; Bonnie was wearing a black coat, and if you didn’t look closely, it would be hard to spot the hidden listening device.

Yang Yi heaved a sigh, then he said impatiently, "What happened."

"Somebody called me, a person I don’t know, and they want me to work for them, or else they will kill me. I want to go home, but I dare not go home; can I stay by your side, dear? I don’t want the money anymore, I just want to be with you..."

Bonnie broke out crying again, her request was merely that of a cleaner’s; Yang Yi could refuse, but he definitely couldn’t reject her outright before figuring out what exactly had happened.

"I’m very busy."

"I won’t bother you..."

While talking to Bonnie in an impatient tone, Yang Yi made a gesture, asking when the listening device was placed on her.

Bonnie’s reply was that she did not know, and now it wasn’t possible to explain in detail, it’s impossible to clarify everything just by gestures.

Yang Yi hugged Bonnie, then he said solemnly, "Go take a shower first."

The listening device could be removed with a simple tug, but Yang Yi could not do so, thus he was very distressed.

After leaving the coat in the living room, Yang Yi and Bonnie entered the bathroom together, and just when Yang Yi felt it was safe to speak, he once again hugged Bonnie and then pointed at her hair.

Bonnie’s expression suddenly turned ugly.

Her hair was tied up, and had it not been for Yang Yi’s keen eyes, he wouldn’t have been able to spot the listening device clipped in her hair.

Who would dare to monitor Bonnie in such an almost threatening manner?

Yang Yi grinned, then he said flirtatiously, "Let’s shower together."

Bonnie’s body stiffened, and after last night’s battle, Yang Yi was no longer a rookie, so his body wasn’t as stiff as Bonnie’s, but psychologically, the barrier was significant, because he didn’t want certain things to happen while being monitored.

Watching Yang Yi’s warning gaze, Bonnie obediently said, "Okay."

As Yang Yi hugged Bonnie entering the bathroom, he let out a long sigh internally.

Yang Yi was not pretending to be a victim, he was just exhausted, and, moreover, the upcoming scenarios weren’t under his control, which was truly painful.

But the main issue for Yang Yi was that he always thought it was Aaron monitoring and investigating Bonnie, but now she was being monitored so blatantly, and Yang Yi didn’t think Aaron would do so. So the question arises: who is listening to Bonnie?
