Chapter 1038: Chapter 1043: Just Forge One
Letting loose to capture, no need to teach Yang Yi how to play it cool.
The second meeting with Petra is already arranged, and Petra definitely decided to host a party at her home the next day just to meet Yang Yi. Why not the day after? Because meeting the next day would indeed be too rushed.
But the meeting is set, what to talk about when they meet?
As they were walking out, Yang Yi whispered, "It’s fun to brag, but isn’t this kind of thing too far-fetched?"
After a moment of silence, Anton whispered, "This is true."
Yang Yi was indeed surprised, so he whispered, "Really?"
"Really!"
Although shocked, Yang Yi still whispered, "Is there evidence?"
"Yes, I’ve seen it."
Yang Yi gasped and then he hurriedly said, "Let’s talk about this later."
Yang Yi came out, then he continued, "What evidence?"
"Photos, eyewitness testimonies."
"You said testimonies, not evidence."
"Yes, the KGB interrogated the witnesses, so these are unquestionable testimonies and not evidence, top secret, documents that would never have been leaked if the Soviet Union hadn’t collapsed."
"What about, tell me more."
"September 7, 1984, a UFO sighting occurred during an Air Force transport plane’s flight from Tbilisi to Rostov on the Don, SU8352. Later, on January 30, 1985, the Labor newspaper published the entire process of this sighting, causing a serious political incident. It was one in a series of UFO encounters, only a fraction was published, and I have seen the full report of this incident."
"What about the moon landing? I was talking to Petra about lunar exploration and moon landing."
"The Soviet Union terminated its moon landing program because they weren’t technologically up to par, but later stopped the moon program because they had reached an agreement with the United States after discovering... UFOs on the far side of the moon."
"Really there?"
"Really there, I’ve seen the photos. For safety, both the Soviet Union and the United States halted their moon landing programs, and gradually halted their lunar exploration programs too."
Yang Yi took a breath and said, "This is really... Okay, I want evidence."
"I have seen it, but the documents have been lost, I don’t know who has them now, someone bought those documents, and since then they have never been leaked."
Yang Yi’s first reaction was that this was impossible, but he also knew Anton really had no reason to lie to him, it’s not suitable to discuss this in detail over the radio, so Yang Yi whispered, "Can you get the evidence?"
"It can be forged, replicas would work, getting the originals is not impossible, but it would take too long."
Yang Yi thought for a moment and said, "Understood, I’ll ask others first."
After finishing his conversation with Anton, Yang Yi returned to his own car and then he met Ferguson.
There was no communication with Ferguson throughout, so the first thing Ferguson said when seeing Yang Yi was, "Did it work?"
"It worked, I established a preliminary relationship with Petra, she invited me to a party the day after tomorrow."
"Good."
"Not good, I bragged. I said there was evidence supporting the authenticity of the United States’ moon landing operation, and then I also said there were top-secret documents leaked when the Soviet Union collapsed, so now I need to get these."
Ferguson, looking puzzled, said, "What’s the problem? Can the moon landing be fake? You’re joking."
Yang Yi helplessly said, "That’s not our topic of discussion, the key now is that I need evidence, so we need technical support now."
Yang Yi took out his phone, and he whispered, "I need to make a call, see if we can solve this in the simplest way possible."
The simplest way, that was to call Aaron.
Aaron soon answered the call.
"Sir, there’s a tough problem, I need your support now."
"What’s the problem."
"To get close to Petra, I told a fib."
Yang Yi repeated the events and then he whispered, "The key is the archives leaked during the Soviet dissolution, I think we need to forge a complete chain of evidence, what do you think?"
Aaron pondered briefly and then said, "The night after tomorrow, forge a set of evidence, if a photocopy is sufficient, then it’s not difficult, I think there’s no need to show her the originals."
"Thanks, sir, no more issues."
After hanging up the phone, Yang Yi sighed and then he smiled, "See, problem solved."
With the CIA backing him, many things had become much easier.
Ferguson said in a deep voice, "Just forging a set of documents, this is too simple, but why would anyone doubt the moon landing? These people are really boring, so where will the party be held? At Petra’s own place, or her family’s?"
"I don’t know yet, I think Petra hasn’t decided yet."
"If it’s at her place, then the scale of the party will be very small as her place isn’t large, but if it’s at her father’s mansion, then the scale won’t be too small."
Yang Yi said, "I think if Petra invited me to resolve doubts, then she’ll keep the party scale very small, making it convenient for us to talk."
"No, you’re wrong. If she wants to find time to talk seriously with you, a party with not many people but all friends wouldn’t leave you much time to chat alone, so I think she’ll make the scale of the party very large, but not many will be her real friends, this way she could leave the guests and be alone with you."
Yang Yi thought Ferguson made a lot of sense, he nodded and then suddenly said, "Be alone together?"
"Yeah, do you think such topics are suitable to discuss in front of many people? Unless it’s with friends who share the same views and interests, otherwise, it’s only discussed in very private situations, don’t you think?"
Yang Yi said solemnly, "I think it makes sense, so, should I use that perfume?"
"At least you should bring it, if the situation is as we expect, then it’s time to use the perfume."
Yang Yi tapped his head with his hand, a look of helplessness on his face, "Tomorrow she should call and officially inform me, and then I need to go shopping for clothes and shoes again, maintaining a wealthy guy’s appearance is really troublesome, I have to shop again."
Ferguson shrugged, "Are you bothered? Actually, I kind of wish I had your kind of problems."
Ignoring Ferguson’s comment, Yang Yi whispered, "Let Bonnie go with me to buy clothes tomorrow, if the headquarters sends the documents you receive them, also, help me investigate a person named Jason, he’s of use to me, I wanted his business card yesterday, but the timing wasn’t quite right."
Ferguson didn’t ask who Jason was. If Yang Yi had detailed information, he wouldn’t need him to check. He just nodded, "Got it, if he’s on the guest list, then I’ll find him."
