Chapter 1008: 113 Chapters Advance

A secret agent on a mission in the Middle East was recalled, which essentially indicates that Aaron was behind it. If it were Mathewson from the South America bureau, he wouldn’t have that much pull.

It seems Aaron has already noticed him, sooner than Yang Yi had anticipated.

Now, it isn’t just about having a fight with Ferguson; it’s about Yang Yi’s entire strategy.

Should he proactively display his strength to Aaron now?

The fight is almost about to start, yet Yang Yi is preoccupied with matters beyond the arena.

He checked his watch; it was already eight-forty, but Yang Yi still couldn’t make up his mind. His current approach was to retreat as an advance, letting Aaron investigate everything about him. By the time Aaron discovers that he is the one who took advantage of the mutual caution between the Grey-cloaked People and the janitors to swallow Deyo Mather’s legacy, Aaron would likely make his move.

The question now is how much Aaron actually knows, so showing some strength could make Aaron act sooner rather than just watching.

Aaron should take an interest in him. If things go as planned, Aaron should reach out to him instead of just trying to kill Yang Yi.

That should be the case, hopefully.

So, should he show his strength or not?

Yang Yi ultimately felt that haste wouldn’t bring success. If he rushed things and Aaron noticed something amiss, it would all be over. However, proceeding methodically might be a bit late, but it was ultimately safer.

Having made up his mind, Yang Yi stopped vacillating and began to head towards the fighting arena.

What should be hidden will continue to be hidden, what needs to be flaunted must be flaunted.

This battle must be won, and he must make a big scene!

Yang Yi, firm in his resolve, planned to go all out. He wouldn’t strike to kill, but he would strike hard if he could.

Yang Yi wore what he found most comfortable for fighting.

A pair of soft-soled lace-up leather shoes, casual trousers, and a short-sleeved shirt.

It wasn’t any martial arts or combat uniform, because whenever he needed to fight for his life, it would likely be either an ambush or a sudden encounter. If he had prepared in advance to take someone down, he wouldn’t go unarmed; using a gun was simplest.

Since he often found himself in scenarios where wearing a combat uniform wasn’t feasible, Yang Yi naturally didn’t feel the need to don anything special to fight.

Yang Yi pushed open the door to the fighting arena.

The largest fighting arena, used for instructing newcomers, could hold around two hundred people; three hundred if they just stood by as spectators.

There weren’t many people in the fighting arena, just about twenty, which was less than Yang Yi had expected.

He checked his watch again; it was now eight fifty-six.

Among the spectators were familiar faces—Hegelhaus, Reggie, and Ben were all present.

Seeing Yang Yi, Hegelhaus didn’t come over to greet him. He just nodded at Yang Yi, while Reggie waved his fist at Yang Yi in a cheering motion.

Yang Yi loosened his shoulders, then started to methodically perform his warm-up exercises.

He had secretly warmed up earlier, but since there was nothing else to do, it made sense to keep warming up – if only to look professional.

Just then, the door opened and a line of people entered.

Leading them was Walter.

"Hey, Yang Yi!"

Walter shouted loudly; he had brought no less than thirty people with him, significantly more than he had initially anticipated. Following the principle of neither discouraging nor encouraging, having more people only demonstrated that everyone was indeed very interested in the fight between Yang Yi and Ferguson.

"You can do it!"

"Pal, we’re with you!"

The management team began shouting all at once; some even cheered loudly, and amidst the noise, the door swung open again.

Ferguson walked in front, followed by a big crowd. The door was left open after he entered, and at least a hundred people came in.

Ferguson walked directly to the center of the fighting arena, stood there staring at Yang Yi without a word, and made no provocative gestures.

Walter stood next to Yang Yi, whispering, "A lot of people are paying attention to this match, huh? How many from the action department came, fuck, we brought too few."

In this place, really nothing that shouldn’t be said could be mentioned because there were probably eight out of ten people here who could read lips.

Thus, normal and rational things could be said, even cursing was fine, but whatever should not be said must not be mentioned at all.

Finally, the door closed again, and the fighting arena, without anyone maintaining order, clearly divided into two sections.

The action department had many more people. Walter patted Yang Yi on the shoulder and whispered, "Feeling confident?"

"Confident!"

"Good! It’s up to you now, defeat Ferguson, go for it!"

Yang Yi took a deep breath, loosened his shoulders again, then walked fiercely towards Ferguson, who stood in the middle.

"Come on!"

Yang Yi assumed a stance, signaling to Ferguson that he was ready, but instead, Ferguson stretched out his hand and said sternly, "Wait a moment, there’s someone else yet to arrive."

Yang Yi’s face fell as he said, "You want to fight me, I’m here, but I’m not interested in performing for anyone. If you want to fight, hurry up; I’m not waiting for anyone."

Ferguson coldly replied, "You’d better wait, because the Deputy Director, Aaron, is coming to watch. He just decided to come; please wait a moment, he’ll be here soon."

Walter immediately made a very surprised expression, and whispers swiftly spread through the crowd of spectators.

Just then, the door opened, and an elderly man entered the fighting arena with two others.
