Chapter 1060: One thousand and fifty-eight, visiting friends

The conversation lasted until midnight before everyone reluctantly dispersed.

The little brother and little sister followed Zhu Huizhen to the children’s room. Although Luo Shu’s family of four hadn’t returned in years, the Lu family had still made all the necessary arrangements.

Back in their room, after an intimate moment, Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo lay on the bed chatting.

"I wonder how Dad, Mom, and Grandpa are doing now?" Luo Shu leaned against Lu Hanmo’s chest. Originally, they had planned to visit the Divine Doctor Family tomorrow, but upon using their Divine Sense, they discovered that only some younger members of the family were still there—the others had gone to Lan Star.

Lu Hanmo lowered his head and kissed Luo Shu’s forehead gently. "Don’t worry! The Divine Doctor Sect has so many Level Six Spirit Beasts, not to mention Qian Yu’s cultivation isn’t weak either. Nothing will happen to them. In a couple of days, we’ll head to Lan Star to see them." Their plan was to reunite with old friends, spend a few days with family, and then stay awhile at the Divine Doctor Sect on Lan Star. Now that they were back, they couldn’t just leave immediately.

"Mm!" Luo Shu nodded lightly. She also felt certain the Divine Doctor Sect was safe, but not having seen them in so many years made her miss them deeply.

"Get some sleep; we’re visiting the Guard tomorrow to see Mo Shaoze." Lu Hanmo slightly tightened his embrace around Luo Shu and gently patted her back. According to his father, Mo Shaoze had achieved remarkable feats in battle over the years and had now been promoted to Company Commander.

"I want to hear you sing a song." Luo Shu playfully wrapped her arms around Lu Hanmo’s neck, her starry eyes gleaming mischievously.

Lu Hanmo chuckled, his deep gaze radiating affection as he looked at Luo Shu. "You really have a way of twisting my arm! What song would you like to hear?"

Luo Shu beamed brightly. "Anything you sing, I’ll love."

After a moment of thought, Lu Hanmo began to sing: "Let my love wait for you, until eternity. Do you feel my worry for you? Gazing into each other’s eyes, I realize what fate means. Are you waiting too, for a soulmate? Carry your love in my heart, until forever. The long road ahead holds an unwavering spirit. When the wind rises, let it bring you warmth, let it show you love..."

His voice was rich and magnetic, effortlessly pulling one into its melodic embrace...

Meanwhile, Mo Shaoze sat in his office, focused on the latest Guard report.

"Knock, knock, knock!" A series of knocks interrupted his focus.

"Come in!" Mo Shaoze responded flatly, his eyes not leaving the report in his hands.

The door was pushed open gently. The visitor didn’t speak but walked up to Mo Shaoze’s desk.

When the visitor remained silent after a long moment, Mo Shaoze finally raised his head, puzzled. The instant he saw who it was, his eyes widened in surprise and joy. "How is it you? When did you return?" It had been over six years since he last saw them.

"We came back yesterday," Lu Hanmo said with a smile.

"Are you planning to leave again after this visit?" Mo Shaoze stood up, walked to the side, took out some cups, and brewed tea for the two. In recent years, he himself had continued cultivating and had now reached the Golden Core Mid Stage. He had promised Lu Hanmo that he wouldn’t reveal his cultivation journey to anyone—not even his wife. However, the elixirs Luo Shu had left for his wife and father-in-law had worked wonders; they had been taking them consistently, and both of their health had greatly improved—his father-in-law even appeared younger with each passing year.

Lu Hanmo nodded, pulling Luo Shu to sit on the nearby sofa. "At most, we’ll stay for half a month." Ye Xingchen hadn’t yet heard of their return, but if he did, he would certainly come looking for them. Therefore, after heading back to the Immortal Realm, they would need to seek out opportunities to grow stronger. The events of ten thousand years ago could not be allowed to repeat.

"So soon? Why don’t you stay longer?" Mo Shaoze asked, surprised. He had assumed they’d stay for a long time on this visit.

"There are still unresolved matters we need to handle," Lu Hanmo replied, accepting the tea Mo Shaoze handed him.

"Where are you headed next, and when will you return?" Mo Shaoze inquired, sitting beside Lu Hanmo.

"I don’t know," Lu Hanmo said, shaking his head.

"Will it be dangerous?" Mo Shaoze asked with concern. It was rare to see uncertainty in Lu Hanmo’s expression.

"A bit, but it should be manageable," Lu Hanmo said, sipping his tea. What troubled him most was not knowing Ye Xingchen’s strength or when he might come after them.

"I wish I could help somehow," Mo Shaoze sighed helplessly. There was a time when he and Lu Hanmo were on the same level, and even if he was slightly weaker, he could still provide some assistance. But now the gap between them had grown immensurably vast—even if he gave his all, he wouldn’t be able to support him in the slightest. This realization left him feeling both frustrated and powerless.

"Let’s change the subject. I hear your son is now in kindergarten?" Lu Hanmo said with a smile. His mother had told him that shortly after they left, Shen Anning became pregnant, and now the little boy was already over five years old.

"Don’t even get me started on that rascal! Yesterday, his teacher called me, saying he took the chicken leg from a little girl at his table during lunch. Then he gave the chicken bone back to her, making her cry for the whole afternoon. During class, while everyone else was paying attention, he was running around and disrupting the whole session, forcing the teacher to stop the lesson." Mo Shaoze shook his head in exasperation.

"He’s definitely a mischievous one." Luo Shu couldn’t help but laugh. She wondered what kind of trouble their own two little ones would get into at school. On this trip back, she and Hanmo had decided to leave their two children on Yuan Star. As for their cultivation, she planned to temporarily seal it with a talisman. If they encountered danger, the talisman would automatically unlock.

If no danger arose, the talisman’s restriction would lift automatically when they turned eighteen. She planned to ensure they retained their Divine Sense, allowing them to freely access their space and items stored in their Storage Rings. Ultimately, however, she would leave the final decision up to the two of them.

Mo Shaoze smiled wryly and nodded. "No kidding! His mother and I receive calls from his teacher practically every day—it’s driving us crazy." At that moment, the phone on his desk rang.

"Looks like another call from the teacher," Mo Shaoze sighed helplessly, walking toward his desk. He had even gotten a separate phone line installed, just for these calls. Whenever it rang, he already knew it was because of his son getting into trouble again.

Mo Shaoze picked up the receiver. "Hello, Teacher Yu! Yes, I’m Mo Yikai’s father. What’s that? He cut a little girl’s hair today? Understood, I’ll come over right away." His heart sank with a deep sense of powerlessness. What had he done to deserve such a troublesome child?
