Chapter 1059: One thousand and fifty-seven, go home.
Zhu Huizhen was sitting on the sofa watching TV. She reached out, skewered a piece of cantaloupe with a toothpick, and popped it into her mouth, then looked over at Ye Shanshan. "It’s been over six years now, how come Hanmo and Luo Shu haven’t come back yet?" After more than six years of cultivation, her cultivation level had reached the Primary Stage of Golden Core. Thanks to cultivation, her appearance hadn’t changed much.
"I miss them too, and the two children. I wonder how much they’ve grown by now?" Ye Shanshan sighed.
"Yes, Xixi and Yeye were so tiny when they left. Now they’re over seven years old; they must’ve grown quite tall by now." As she thought about her grandchildren, Zhu Huizhen’s heart ached deeply. Who else has endured not seeing their grandchildren even once in several years?
"Grandma! We’re back!" A voice from outside called out.
Zhu Huizhen froze and then smiled, shaking her head. "I must miss them so much that I’m hallucinating. I actually heard someone calling me ’Grandma.’"
"I heard it too!" Ye Shanshan turned toward the doorway, and there she saw two exquisitely delicate, miniature versions of Lu Hanmo and Luo Shu walking in. She instantly widened her eyes in surprise and joy. "It’s not a hallucination; they’re really back!"
Zhu Huizhen shot up from the sofa, turning to look at the little brother and little sister. When she confirmed she wasn’t imagining things, she quickly rushed toward them. "Xixi, Yeye, is it really you? Have you really come back?" Tears uncontrollably streamed down her face. Was this a dream?
"Grandma, don’t cry. We’re really back, and Mom and Dad are back too." The little sister reached out to wipe the tears from Zhu Huizhen’s cheeks.
Zhu Huizhen pulled the two of them into her arms, feeling the tangible weight of their presence. "Good kids! Where are your mom and dad?" They’re back, finally back. The family could finally be reunited.
"Mom! Aunt!" Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo smiled warmly at the two women. They had just landed in the courtyard, gazing at the familiar home. Their hearts were a whirlwind of emotions.
"Hanmo! Luo Shu! You’re finally back!" Zhu Huizhen’s tears flowed even more freely, her body trembling with excitement.
"Grandma, stop crying. We’ll visit you often from now on." The little sister fished out a packet of tissues and opened it to help Zhu Huizhen wipe her tears. Naturally, this tissue was something her mom had stored in her space.
Zhu Huizhen froze at the little sister’s words, turning to look at Lu Hanmo and Luo Shu. "You’re leaving again?"
Lu Hanmo nodded. "There are still some matters we need to take care of."
A rush of hurried footsteps echoed as Lu Zhengyang and Old Master Lu, having received the news, dashed into the room.
"Hanmo, Luo Shu, you’re back! You’re staying this time, right?" Lu Zhengyang stepped forward excitedly, eager to ask. They had been waiting day after day, month after month, and finally, their wait came to an end.
Old Master Lu also looked expectantly at Lu Hanmo and Luo Shu.
"Dad! Grandpa!" Lu Hanmo and Luo Shu greeted the two. Lu Hanmo then said, "We came back to visit, but we’ll be leaving again soon. There are still some matters to settle."
"When will those matters be settled?" Old Master Lu asked. With age catching up to him, he yearned more than ever for a peaceful life filled with family reunions and grandchildren by his side—he didn’t need anything more.
"We don’t know yet, but we’ll come back often." Lu Hanmo replied. He also wanted to resolve those issues quickly, but it wasn’t something easily done.
Old Master Lu sighed. "Be careful out there." They couldn’t help them much; all they could do was silently wish for their safety.
"Alright!" Lu Hanmo nodded.
"Great-grandpa! Grandpa!" The little brother and little sister called out sweetly.
"Good kids!" Old Master Lu looked at the two children with joy. In the blink of an eye, they had grown so much. Time truly flew by!
"Be good! Come let Grandpa hug you!" Lu Zhengyang crouched down, opening his arms toward the little brother and little sister with a smile.
"Grandpa, we’ve grown up now. You might not be able to lift us." The little sister giggled.
"Who said that? Grandpa is strong! Xixi, come here, let Grandpa give you a hug." Lu Zhengyang called to the little sister with a smile.
The little sister walked forward and threw herself into Lu Zhengyang’s arms with a grin. "Then Grandpa, just one hug. I’m really heavy."
"My Xixi isn’t heavy at all. Hahaha..." Lu Zhengyang laughed heartily, lifting the little sister. "Where’s the weight? My Xixi is so light. Grandpa will spin you around!"
"Grandpa, faster, faster! Hahahaha..." The little sister’s bell-like laughter rang out, infecting everyone present with happiness.
"Yeye, let Grandma hold you too." Zhu Huizhen stepped forward, reaching out to hug the little brother.
"Grandma, Yeye is already a big boy. A man shouldn’t let people carry him." The little brother quickly stepped back, shaking his head with a smile.
"Even a big boy is still Grandma’s grandson. Let Grandma hold you for just a moment, okay?" Zhu Huizhen extended her arms with a smile. Ah! She hadn’t even properly hugged her grandchildren, and they were already so grown up.
The little brother thought for a moment before nodding. "Okay! Just for a moment, Grandma."
"Such a good grandson!" Zhu Huizhen bent down and embraced the little brother with a smile. As a True Cultivator, carrying a child was naturally no problem for her.
"Why do I feel like Xixi and Yeye are much bigger than other kids? Is it because of cultivation?" Zhu Huizhen turned to Luo Shu and asked.
Luo Shu nodded. "It’s because they cultivated in the Heart of Time."
"Heart of Time? What’s that?" Zhu Huizhen and the others looked at Luo Shu with curiosity. They were fascinated by everything about the Immortal Realm. They wondered if it was like the mythical stories, with the Jade Emperor and Guanyin Bodhisattva.
"The Heart of Time is a Small World. Cultivating inside it is different from outside. One day outside equates to a year inside." Luo Shu explained.
"That’s amazing!" Zhu Huizhen and the others exclaimed, their mouths gaping in astonishment.
"Hanmo, Luo Shu, tell us about the Immortal Realm!" Old Master Lu snapped out of his daze and sat down on the sofa, his face full of anticipation.
"Sure!" Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo nodded, sitting down beside Old Master Lu.
"Wait before you start. I’ll quickly brew some tea and come back." Ye Shanshan spoke as she hurried off to the kitchen.
Lu Zhengyang and Zhu Huizhen, meanwhile, carried the little sister and little brother and also sat down on the sofa. They too were brimming with curiosity about the Immortal Realm. Even if they couldn’t go there, learning about its wonders would be enough for them.
