Chapter 98: Chapter 98 I Trust My Girlfriend More

An Yan looked at Su Manxi’s smile which hadn’t lifted again and continued, "I am merely helping Miss Su analyze a real case. It’s normal for Miss Su to disagree since everyone has different viewpoints. But honestly, not every pair who grew up together can be considered childhood sweethearts. It might just be one person’s turmoil, one person’s wishful thinking, one-sided, and ending without illness."

Su Manxi’s lips trembled, obviously infuriated.

She regulated her breathing, "Even so, a marriage not recognized by heaven without family blessings won’t last long, it will inevitably part ways sooner or later."

An Yan sliced the apple, "Being together with family blessings is certainly good, but it’s also fine without them. What matters is the man’s attitude towards the woman. For instance, even if the childhood sweetheart is loved by the bamboo horse’s family, it doesn’t help if the bamboo horse does not have feelings."

Su Manxi gritted her teeth, "Is Miss An implying something?"

"Not at all, we are just discussing the case. Who am I pointing at? Didn’t Miss Su bring up this topic first?" An Yan chewed on her apple, "Miss Su, don’t be angry; it’s just a movie that started this discussion, it’s not real, so no need to care so much."

Su Manxi put down her tablet, and smiled, "It’s just a pity that this pair of childhood sweethearts was once interfered with by a third party."

"Third party?" An Yan disagreed, "I think Miss Su might have a misunderstanding about the definition of a third party. Are these childhood sweethearts together? Did they hold hands, kiss, or go further? If they haven’t even done the basics, how can you say they are together? If they weren’t together, how could someone possibly become a third party?"

Su Manxi curved her lips and did not continue on this topic, instead, she looked at her hand, "My hand is healing quite quickly, the doctor said I could be discharged in three more days. I should thank Shiyan for the burn cream he sent me. I wonder how much effort he took to get such an effective ointment."

"Oh." An Yan gave a faint smile, "The ointment was given to your younger uncle by me. I heard he said you were burned, so I gave him the family ointment because, after all, one should empathize, and it’s not good for a girl to have scars."

Su Manxi clenched her teeth, intending to boast but ended up being severely embarrassed.

"Then I really thank you."

"Don’t mention it, if you need more ointment, I still have some," An Yan said with an innocuous smile.

Su Manxi glanced at the small window on the hospital room door and suddenly grabbed An Yan’s knife-holding hand toward herself.

An Yan reacted quickly and let go immediately, but the knife still inevitably scratched Su Manxi’s wrist, and fresh red blood oozed out.

Su Manxi looked at the man who entered, her voice shaking uncontrollably with pain and grievance, "Shiyan, it hurts so much!"

An Yan turned back to look at the man who entered, stood up, and threw the apple core into the trash, "I did nothing."

What Fu Shiyan saw from the small window was An Yan extending a knife toward Su Manxi, while Su Manxi stopped her.

However, he said, "Let’s treat the wound first."

Su Manxi knit her brows, "Shiyan, are you defending the assailant?"

Fu Shiyan coldly said, "Isn’t dressing the wound more important first?"

He turned and left the room to call a doctor to dress the wound.

Medical personnel came and gone, leaving only three people in the room in the end.

Su Manxi sobbed, "I can’t believe that just arguing over a movie, Miss An resorted to violence."

An Yan scoffed lightly, "If I wanted to hit someone, would your injury be so minor?" She looked at Fu Shiyan, "Do you believe me?"

Fu Shiyan thought of when he called her, asking what she was doing; she said she just woke up but actually, she wasn’t at home.

Now she’s asking if he believes her?

Fu Shiyan suddenly laughed, "I do."

An Yan curled her lips slightly, "Thank you, younger uncle."

Su Manxi pitifully looked at the man, "Shiyan, I’m the one injured, don’t you believe me?"

"I believe her more," Fu Shiyan stated firmly, "She has no reason to attack you. Are you planning to call the police?"

Su Manxi’s eyes reddened, "Shiyan, she hurt me, shouldn’t I use legal means to protect myself?"

"That’s up to you, I’ll ask Song Chao to handle it later."

Su Manxi spoke with a heavy nasal voice, "Shiyan, we grew up together, why don’t you trust me?"

"I trust my girlfriend even more," Fu Shiyan answered word by word.

He admitted it!

He actually admitted it!

Su Manxi cried, "Shiyan, she’s not worth your protection."

"Whether she is worth it or not is not for you to decide. Su Manxi, the only reason you called me here was to make me witness this scene, wasn’t it? How is that interesting?"

Su Manxi flatly denied it, "I just hoped you would come and see me, how could you think of me like that?"

Fu Shiyan grabbed An Yan’s hand, "Stop playing these petty tricks in the future, it’s disgusting. If you want to call the police, I’m ready any time."

Having said that, he left the hospital room with An Yan.

Su Manxi looked at the gauze wrapped around her wrist, swept a vase off the table next to her in fury, and the lilies lay amid the broken pieces.

Does he trust her that much?

And will she trust him in return?

This time, she wouldn’t fail!

Fu Shiyan asked Han Yang to drive his car away, and he went with An Yan in another car.

"Su Manxi called you over?" Fu Shiyan buckled her seatbelt, their noses touching.

"She called saying she was bored and wanted me to keep her company. I wanted to see what she was up to," An Yan replied.

Fu Shiyan kissed her gently on the lips, "If she harasses you again, ignore her."

"Got it. But I’m so happy that you trust me this much."

"Hmm, and you wouldn’t deceive me, would you?

An Yan laughed, "Of course not."

"That’s good." Fu Shiyan straightened up and started the car, "I’m taking you to Moon Restaurant to try a new dish."

"Sounds great!"

After dinner, they went to the supermarket to buy a bunch of snacks, and spent the evening watching movies together.

Fu Shiyan watched the girl laugh carelessly, feeling uneasy. He really wanted to know where An Yan had been during the day.

He asked, "Last time you said you helped Mu Qianfan contact Y, when was the surgery?"

"It was today," An Yan blurted out.

Fu Shiyan fell silent, thinking that An Yan must have gone to accompany Mu Qianfan today.

A surge of jealousy rose, and he turned her face towards his and kissed her hard.

An Yan winced in pain and pushed him away, "What’s wrong with you?"

"Nothing, sweetheart, when is your aunt leaving?"

"In two more days."

Fu Shiyan looked at her with desire in his eyes, "Baby, help me out, will you?" he said, guiding her hand down his abs...

Three days passed in a blur, and An Yan always felt that Fu Shiyan was preoccupied. She thought she might be overthinking until she received a call from Su Manxi.
