Spoiled By My Ex-Fiance's Uncle -
Chapter 31 That Night Was a Mistake
Chapter 31: Chapter 31 That Night Was a Mistake
Cold light flashed in her eyes, and her hands that hung by her sides had already clenched into fists.
Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of a figure from the corner of her eye, speedily sprinting forward. The figure leapt up lightly and kicked the man in the shoulder, sending him flying into the bushes.
A pungent odor spread through the air, and the man started wailing, "My face, my hands, ahhh..."
An Yan looked at the man who approached with an intense aura, his hands steadying her shoulders, his eyes displaying a hint of panic, "Are you alright?"
Fu Shiyan’s concerned words caused An Yan to freeze for a moment.
"Stunned?" He instinctively lifted his hand to rub her head but then withdrew it.
"Why is Younger Uncle here?"
"Just passing by."
"Are you injured?"
An Yan dully shook her head, "No."
Han Yang quickly walked over, "President Fu, the bottle contained concentrated sulfuric acid. It’s a case of harming oneself while trying to hurt others; his face and hands are corroded by the acid."
"Did you call the police?"
Han Yang replied, "I’ve already made the call."
His gaze fell on Fu Shiyan’s back, "President Fu, it seems like your back wound has stretched."
An Yan quickly moved behind him, where his pristine white shirt was showing traces of blood, "The wound is bleeding; let’s go back to Bishui Bay first. We have a first aid kit at home to take care of it."
Han Yang said, "Yes, President Fu, we also need to go to the police station to give a statement later; it would be better to treat the wound first."
Fu Shiyan nodded, took the car keys from Han Yang, and left with An Yan.
Once home, An Yan kicked off her shoes and ran barefoot into the wardrobe to fetch the medical kit.
Fu Shiyan saw her bare feet, bent down to pick up a pair of pink Minnie slippers, and walked over to her, "Put these on."
An Yan uttered an acknowledgment, slipped on the shoes, exposing her fair toes which appeared particularly adorable, "Younger Uncle, sit on the sofa and take off your shirt."
Fu Shiyan cooperated; he sat on the sofa, slightly spreading his legs as his gleaming fingertips unhinged each button one by one, revealing a torso with well-defined muscles and solid abs.
He unbuttoned his cuffs, taking off his shirt and tossing it to the ground.
The palm-sized burn on his back was startling.
The contrast between his pale skin and the bright red burn was stark.
An Yan’s eyebrows locked together in deep concern, feeling very guilty.
If she hadn’t set up that fire, he wouldn’t have gotten burned.
If it hadn’t been for that night she orchestrated, causing him to get wet, his injury wouldn’t have become infected and inflamed.
If it hadn’t been for him rescuing her tonight, the injury wouldn’t have been aggravated.
Although his words yesterday truly hurt her, she still felt pained for him.
An Yan opened the medical kit, took out a cotton swab, dipped it in iodine, and began disinfecting his wound. After cleaning, she whispered, "I’m sorry."
Fu Shiyan turned slightly to see the guilt in her expression and asked, "Sorry for what?"
"For causing your injury."
"I don’t blame you."
An Yan’s eyes reddened. She took out a tube of ointment from the medical kit, unscrewed the lid, and gently applied a scoop of it to the bright red area.
The cool sensation of the medicine instantly alleviated the pain and burning of the wound, and her fingertips were tender and slightly ticklish.
Fu Shiyan tensed up and looked at her, his voice slightly hoarse, "No need."
An Yan withdrew her hand, organized the medical kit, "The shirt you left last time, I washed it. I’ll get it for you." After saying this, she stood up and went into the bedroom.
When she returned, she was holding a pristine white shirt.
"Younger Uncle, this is for you," she said.
Fu Shiyan took it and slowly put it on.
"Younger Uncle, did you eat the cake?"
"No, I don’t like sweets."
"Is it that you don’t like sweets or the person who made the sweets?"
Fu Shiyan’s lips curled in a cold arc, his eyelids drooping, "It doesn’t matter."
An Yan forced a smile, "It’s quite important to me, after all, I don’t want to spoil the mood of someone who likes sweets. Actually, the cakes I make are no worse than those bought outside. The ingredients are the best, so... they’re not cheap?"
After she said the last sentence, An Yan somewhat regretted it, as she already clearly understood that that was what he thought.
"I have never thought that way," said Fu Shiyan lightly.
But you already said it!
An Yan laughed softly, "I know Younger Uncle lacks nothing, so I wanted to make some cakes myself to show my gratitude. Thank you, Younger Uncle, for ensuring that Guan Lulu and the others received their just desserts."
"I didn’t do it for you, it was just that Guan Dong deceived me and crossed my bottom line."
An Yan squatted in front of him, looking up at him, "Then I also once deceived Younger Uncle, yet you still saved me time and again. Can I understand that you were willing to relax your boundaries for me?"
Her skin was delicate, her eyebrows finely arched, her doe eyes bright and clear, and her tender red lips slightly parted, captivatingly enthralling.
Fu Shiyan turned his head and stood up, fastening his cufflinks, "I will not lower my standards for anyone, I just helped you a few times because you and Jinqiao are of similar ages."
An Yan slowly stood up, her voice full of disappointment, "I understand now."
Suddenly, Fu Shiyan spoke up, "Did you go on a date with Bai?" He added quickly, worried An Yan might think he was too concerned about her, "I saw him post a photo in the group chat."
An Yan blinked, "It was just a coincidence that I met him at the entrance of Fu Corporation. I owed him a favor, so I invited him for dinner."
Fu Shiyan was adjusting his shirt collar, his hand suddenly pausing to look at her, "Choosing him is your own matter, but I hope you are a devoted girl. However, I must remind you, Bai has had quite a few ex-girlfriends, none of his relationships lasting more than a month. This time, though, he seems more serious than before, you might want to test him for a while."
An Yan suddenly wrapped her hands around his neck and pressed down, her eyelashes trembling as she asked, "Do you really not care at all that I’m with him?"
Their breaths were almost brushing against each other, Fu Shiyan’s dark pupils reflected the girl’s defiant little face, "An Yan, how can you..." manage to casually flirt with three men while remaining composed?
An Yan tiptoed closer, Fu Shiyan quickly turned his head, her soft lips touching the man’s cheek.
Fu Shiyan gripped her wrist, "Let go."
Tears formed in An Yan’s eyes, "I can’t believe you truly feel nothing for me!"
Fu Shiyan slowly pulled her hand down, speaking solemnly, "All I have done was because the Fu Family owes you. I said I would compensate you on behalf of the Fu Family, that’s all."
He walked to the door, changed his shoes, his back towards An Yan, "In my eyes, you and my niece Jinqiao are the same, both juniors."
"Then would you kiss your niece and do what you did that night with your niece?"
Fu Shiyan, his hand on the doorknob, clenched it tightly, the veins on the back of his hand popping out.
His chest heaved repeatedly, a deep sense of immorality welling up. He kept claiming they had an uncle-niece relationship, yet he had engaged in acts only lovers would do.
Even though they hadn’t taken the ultimate step, it was still that intimate.
He looked back, his eyes filled with indifference and distance, "That night was a mistake, it will not happen again. Compose yourself, I’ll wait for you downstairs, and we’ll go to the police station together."
The door closed softly, An Yan sighed deeply.
She went to the restroom, washed her face, and pouted at her reflection in the mirror, "Should I really give up?"
When she came downstairs, An Yan saw Fu Shiyan leaning against the car door, smoking. The rising smoke obscured his handsome features, making his expression indiscernible.
Seeing her approach, he crushed the cigarette butt and threw it into the trash, "Let’s go."
It was cold, completely devoid of warmth.
An Yan got into the passenger seat and fastened her seat belt, her face turned towards the window.
The two of them were like strangers, silent all the way.
