Chapter 165 The Death of An Yirou
Chapter 165: Chapter 165 The Death of An Yirou
Sometimes after work, they would eat out, watch a movie, then go home, and sometimes they would cook together at home and then snuggle on the sofa to watch a movie on the screen.
Today’s dinner was prepared by Fu Shiyan. An Yan felt his cooking skills had greatly improved.
After dinner, Fu Shiyan sliced various fruits and arranged them on a plate, bringing it to An Yan who was nestled under a blanket on the sofa.
"Honeydew, pitaya, mango, pineapple, grapes—which do you want to eat first?"
An Yan smiled, "Mango."
Fu Shiyan used a fork to pick up a piece of mango and held it to her lips, "Open your mouth."
An Yan obediently opened her mouth, but Fu Shiyan pulled his hand back. An Yan blinked, "Are you playing with me?"
"What, isn’t that allowed?"
"Of course not! I’m so anxious!"
Fu Shiyan’s gaze deepened, "Didn’t you also play with me last night?"
An Yan recalled how she had teased him last night and suddenly ran into the guest room.
So, he was seeking revenge.
Such a petty man!
She huffed, "Well, didn’t you catch me in the end?"
"You don’t know the feeling, stuck neither here nor there, agonizingly uncomfortable." Fu Shiyan leaned closer, gently brushing his nose against her cheek.
"Stop it, you’re now my little worker. You have to feed me fruits, massage my legs, rub my back, and prepare my bath water."
"As you command, my dear wife!" Fu Shiyan replied solemnly, raising his hand to salute her.
He began to feed her the fruit seriously, then started massaging her legs, but the massage turned into something else.
Fu Shiyan pinned her onto the sofa, and kissed her deeply and gently.
"Shall we go back to the room?" An Yan’s eyelashes trembled.
Fu Shiyan smirked, kissing her fair neck, "Isn’t it good on the sofa? Didn’t you enjoy it last time?"
Images that made her blush and heart race flooded An Yan’s mind.
"Still reminiscing?" Fu Shiyan murmured against her lips, "No need to reminisce, brother will give it to you."
Just then, the cellphone on the coffee table began to buzz.
An Yan glanced at it, pushing the man lying on top of her, "I need to take this call."
Fu Shiyan really wanted to strangle whoever was calling, no matter who it was.
He stretched out a long arm, took the phone—it was from an unfamiliar number.
An Yan answered the call, and heard the sound of someone sucking on something, "Who?"
"An Yan, it’s me, An Yirou."
An Yan scowled, "I have nothing to say to you."
The other party laughed loudly, "You may have nothing to say to me, but I have a lot to say to you. Let’s make a deal. I want fifty million, in exchange for a secret."
An Yan frowned, "A secret? What secret of yours is worth so much?"
"It’s about the secret of your biological parents."
An Yan’s intuition told her that An Yirou might know something, since she often stayed with the An Family, Du Xinlan, and Yang Suhua.
She had Bi Chong install surveillance, but there were always blind spots, or times when they were out and not being monitored.
"Fine, where should I meet you?"
"Xihua Residential Community, Building D, Unit 1, Room 502. Remember, come alone."
After hanging up, An Yan looked at Fu Shiyan, "An Yirou said she knows the secret of my parents and wants fifty million in exchange."
"I’ll go with you."
"She wants me to come alone."
"I’ll go with you and wait for you downstairs."
An Yan knew he was worried, so she nodded in agreement.
The two of them changed their clothes and drove there.
Xihua Residential Community was an old neighborhood, mixed with both fish and dragons, mostly rented out by tenants.
When Fu Shiyan and An Yan arrived, it was already past ten at night.
Just as An Yan was about to get out of the car, Fu Shiyan grabbed her hand, "I’ll accompany you upstairs."
"Don’t worry, nothing will happen to me," An Yan smiled. "If there’s any danger, I’ll call you immediately, okay?"
Fu Shiyan reluctantly nodded, and they both got out of the car. Watching An Yan enter the building, he leaned against the car door and stood there.
As the weather in mid-November grew colder, Fu Shiyan shook a cigarette from his pack and lit it.
Meanwhile, An Yan reached the fifth floor, room 502, and knocked on the door, but no one answered.
An Yan felt that An Yirou wouldn’t be playing a joke on her, so she redialed the phone.
The ringtone came from inside the door.
An Yan had a feeling that An Yirou was in trouble.
She took a silver needle from her bag, inserted it into the keyhole, turned it, and with a click, the door opened.
As An Yan opened the door, a foul smell hit her.
She turned on the light and saw the floor covered with puffed food trash bags, dinner boxes dripping with vegetable soup, and men and women’s underwear.
She tentatively called out An Yirou’s name a few times, but no one responded.
Slowly, she pushed open the slightly ajar room door and saw An Yirou lying naked on the bed, her body in spasms, her mouth foaming, with a syringe lying next to her.
An Yan saw her chest was utterly still, her eyes open, her pupils already dilated.
An Yirou was dead, from an overdose of that substance.
An Yan looked at the needle marks on An Yirou’s body and slightly furrowed her brow. Didn’t she know injecting too much could kill?
An Yan first called the police and explained the situation.
The police said they would arrive at the scene soon.
She then called Fu Shiyan, "Ayan, An Yirou is dead."
"Don’t touch anything, I’m coming up now."
"She’s not dressed, it’s better you don’t come in," An Yan said. "The scene needs to be preserved, I’ll wait outside the door."
"Then I’ll come up and wait with you."
"Okay."
Half an hour later, the police cars and the hearse arrived at the building.
The police officers, the forensic team, and the body transport team went upstairs.
An officer took An Yan’s statement while the rest entered the rental room to gather evidence.
Because An Yirou had contacted An Yan before her death, and An Yan was the first to see the deceased, she was still taken to the police station for a detailed investigation.
After leaving the interrogation room, Fu Shiyan stepped forward and embraced her, "Are you alright?"
"Yes, I told the truth. What did the forensic team determine?"
Fu Shiyan replied, "Death by an overdose of substance D, there were signs of sexual activity before death, the police are now investigating the man living with her."
An Yan pursed her lips, "An Yirou was about to tell me a secret about my parents when she died. Do you think it’s a coincidence or someone did it on purpose?"
Fu Shiyan sighed lightly, "Let’s wait for the results of the police investigation."
At that moment, three people rushed into the police station.
Du Xinlan led the way, crying and throwing herself at them, "You bitch, you killed my daughter!"
Yang Suhua also continued cursing, "You bring nothing but bad luck, ever since you came back, misfortune has followed the An Family! Now Yirou has also been cursed dead by you!"
An Zaili gritted his teeth and asked, "An Yan, why were you the first one at the scene of Yirou’s death?"
Fu Shiyan stood in front of An Yan, "If you continue making baseless accusations, I’ll have my lawyer sue you."
An Yan stepped out from behind Fu Shiyan, "An Yirou had called me before her death, asking me for fifty million in exchange for a secret about my parents. Do you know that secret?"
