Spoiled By My Ex-Fiance's Uncle
Chapter 138: Two Stripes

Chapter 138: Chapter 138: Two Stripes

An Yan’s nose tingled sourly; she knew An Zaili must have said something unpleasant, otherwise Fu Shiyan would have shared it with her.

She hugged the man tightly and sniffed, "Ayan, if my biological parents are unforgivable criminals, please make sure to tell me too. I don’t think of them as a disgrace, after all, they gave me life."

Fu Shiyan’s heart ached sharply.

In this world, how many people could accept their parents being so dishonorable, and how many could return injustice with kindness?

However, what An Zaili said might not necessarily be true; the matter required further investigation.

He kissed her on the top of her head, "I will help you find your parents."

"Okay."

The matter of An Yan not being An Zaili’s daughter hadn’t spread; those who attended the board meeting that day were interviewed by Fu Shiyan, especially since there was the precedent of An Jincheng, nobody wanted to risk their life.

Fu Shiyan had Han Yang secretly investigate Dong Yuwei and Li Miao; two days later, Han Yang came to report.

Both were orphans who grew up with unseemly conduct—one became a rapist, and the other a streetwalker. After getting together, Li Miao became pregnant, and Dong Yuwei ended up in prison for theft.

After Dong Yuwei was released from prison, coincidentally Li Miao gave birth to a baby girl, whose whereabouts thereafter were unknown.

Han Yang looked down, "It’s been too long; this is all I could find."

Hearing this, Fu Shiyan lit a cigarette, burning his hand with the ash before he stubbed the butt in the ashtray full of cigarette butts.

He spoke indifferently, "Release An Zaili, Du Xinlan, and Yang Suhua, and warn them not to mention these two again, or they will bear the consequences. Have someone keep an eye on them. An Jincheng’s death was no accident; it must be intricately connected with An Zaili and the others."

Han Yang nodded, "I’ll take care of it right away."

Fu Shiyan raised his eyes and asked, "Has An Yan contacted you?"

Han Yang answered truthfully, "Yes, she wanted to know about her parents. I didn’t tell her."

Fu Shiyan leaned back in his chair, "Sooner or later, An Zaili and the others will mention it, but if we don’t release them, we can’t continue with the investigation. Just do as I said for now."

"Yes, President Fu."

Just as Han Yang was about to turn away, Fu Shiyan stopped him, "Remember, do not involve Hacker Lone Wolf."

Han Yang didn’t understand why Fu Shiyan was doing this, as clearly, it was the most time and effort saving method, but if Fu Shiyan insisted, there must be his reasons.

He nodded and then left.

In the vast office, only the sound of Fu Shiyan tapping on the arm of the chair could be heard.

He recalled what Bi Chong had said, who had mentioned that even Hacker S was no match for An Yan.

That night, he had seen An Yan tampering with a computer.

He harbored a bold suspicion that An Yan was Lone Wolf, which was why he was avoiding her in the current investigation.

Even when Han Yang reported some details, it was always face to face with him, not via mobile phones, as for a hacker, eavesdropping was child’s play.

Meanwhile, An Yan was sitting in front of the computer.

She noticed that Fu Shiyan was secretly investigating something, always avoiding her, clearly not wanting her to be aware of it.

He was protecting her, she understood and wouldn’t be ungrateful.

She had been despondent for several days now; she couldn’t keep worrying Fu Shiyan.

She stood up, tied her hair up, and went into the kitchen.

As soon as Fu Shiyan entered the house, he smelled the enticing aroma of food.

He walked into the kitchen and saw the girl in casual clothes frying dishes.

The loose clothing couldn’t conceal her slender figure; the bun she had tied left sparse strands of hair that made her pale nape peeking through the hair seem alluring.

Fu Shiyan walked over, wrapped his arms around her waist, and rested his chin on her shoulder, "What delicious food did you cook?"

"Melon with shrimp, celery and lily, sauced elbow, and a beer-based dish," An Yan smiled as she glanced sideways.

Haven’t seen the girl’s smile for a few days, Fu Shiyan’s mood brightened as well.

"Mmm, all my favorite dishes."

An Yan turned off the burner, served the celery and lily, and turned around, "You’ve been taking care of me these days, thank you."

Fu Shiyan looked at her slightly slimmer face, "Silly girl, we’re past the stage of saying thanks. Let me help you with the dishes."

"Okay," An Yan passed him the plate, "I’ll serve the rice, the rest of the dishes are already on the table."

Fu Shiyan nodded and carried the dishes to the dining room.

An Yan followed closely with two bowls of rice, placing them lightly on the table.

The two sat side by side.

An Yan kept offering Fu Shiyan dishes, "You’ve been working hard these days, eat more."

Fu Shiyan smiled, flashing his teeth, and ate everything she served.

An Yan bit her chopsticks, pondering for a long time, "Ayan, have there been any news about my parents recently?"

"Not yet, after all, it’s been quite a long time." Fu Shiyan put down his chopsticks, "Yanyan, I’ve released An Zaili and the others from the detention center."

An Yan was somewhat surprised, "Why?"

"To lure the snake out of its hole; because An Jincheng’s death was very suspicious, and the police haven’t discovered any clues. They could only convict the driver of DUI, but I believe there’s more to it. An Zaili is hiding something. It might be related to your parents."

An Yan frowned, "I should go and have a talk with An Zaili."

Fu Shiyan looked at her, "An Zaili is stubborn, and your going there would be futile. He has no relation to you now; there’s no need to see him."

An Yan lowered her eyes and nodded.

Fu Shiyan knew that An Yan would definitely monitor An Zaili and others. If An Zaili mentioned Dong Yuwei and Li Miao, he would explain it to her later.

The next day.

An Zaili, Du Xinlan, and Yang Suhua were released from the detention center.

They were now penniless; the An Family’s villa was sealed off, and their bank accounts were frozen. They had nowhere to go for the time being.

Enraged, Du Xinlan clenched her teeth, "It’s all because of that damn An Yan! If it weren’t for her, how could we end up like this! You should have killed her when you had the chance..."

"Shut up!" An Zaili glared at her, whispering, "Walls have ears. Now is not the time to complain. We need to find a place to stay."

He took out his phone, thankfully, he had paid enough phone bills in advance, or it would have been disconnected by now.

He called An Yirou, but the calls went unanswered.

Having no other choice, he called Fu Chenyu, "Chenyu, we’ve been released..."

"Uncle, I’m sorry, An Yirou and I have divorced, and I am not sure of her whereabouts. So, please don’t contact me again in the future."

An Zaili almost spat out a mouthful of blood in shock, not expecting that Fu Chenyu and An Yirou had divorced, and An Yirou had disappeared after he went into the detention center.

Du Xinlan was so angry she nearly fainted, thankfully Yang Suhua was there to support her.

Without any other option, An Zaili braved a call to a few bosses he used to be close with, but as soon as they heard he was borrowing money, they all hung up directly.

Finally, he sent one of them a photo of that person hugging a PR lady, threatening him to settle the matter with a hundred thousand yuan.

The man reluctantly made a transfer of a hundred thousand yuan.

An Zaili looked at the money credited to his account, feeling nothing but remorse. He never thought that he would have to resort to such means to get money.

He rented an apartment in an old neighborhood in the nearby suburbs with Du Xinlan and Yang Suhua.

As soon as Du Xinlan entered the house, she screamed loudly at the somewhat musty smell, followed by various curses.

Yang Suhua also joined in the cursing.

An Zaili sat on the dirty, messy sofa, his lips tightened.

Du Xinlan tried calling An Yirou, but no one answered.

She became frantic, "It must be that bitch An Yan controlling Yirou, I’m going to find that bitch and settle this!"

An Zaili scolded, "Calm down, we should be avoiding her now, not rushing to confront her! Aren’t you considering Qianqian?"

Du Xinlan cooled off.

An Zaili glared at her, "The issue with An Jincheng was handled cleanly, but there’s no guarantee that other matters will be managed as well, so don’t cause trouble for Qianqian."

Du Xinlan wiped her tears, "Alright, fine, then find Yirou for me first."

An Zaili pondered, "Fu Chenyu is cunning and deceitful. If Yirou’s affair is exposed, he won’t let her off easily. I’ll follow Fu Chenyu and perhaps I can find some clues."

Meanwhile, Bi Chong wound up the car window and drove away.

He called An Yan and reported the situation.

An Yan understood, "Keep a close watch. Install surveillance and listening devices in the room when no one is around."

"Okay, understood."

After hanging up the phone, a feeling of nausea surged up.

An Yan rushed into the bathroom to retch. She thought about it; that night, she and Fu Shiyan at the Undersea Hotel hadn’t taken precautions. Could it be that she was pregnant?

She hurried down to the pharmacy below her building, bought two pregnancy tests, and went into the bathroom to test them.

Seeing the two lines on the stick, she was stunned.
