Chapter 91: Tears

Mo Li woke up in her room in the Liu Mansion. The first thought that crossed her mind right after she woke up was about how Reaper and Mo Chou might still be stuck somewhere fighting for their lives in the flood.

She hurriedly threw aside the blanket that was covering her and got up.

Liu Qiang, who had accidentally dozed off while waiting for his wife to wake up also got startled into waking up. He hurriedly got up from the chair that he was sitting on and caught up to Mo Li who was already almost out of the door.

"Dear, wait" he called out to her.

As soon as she saw him, Mo Li finally calmed down. She grabbed onto his hand as if she was clutching onto her life saving straw.

"Did you find them? Did you find our children? Where are they? Are they fine?" Facing the onslaught of questions from his panicked wife, Lu Qiang did not know how to answer for a moment.

He knew that if he told her the truth, it might absolutely break his dear wife’s heart but he knew that he would not be able to hide anything from her either.

Liu Qiang let out a resigned sigh and finally answered, "We did find both of them. Actually, some kind soul had already rescued them before we even reached the flooded area and had admitted them to a hospital. They are alive but still in the hospital".

Mo Li finally felt a little better upon hearing Liu Qiang’s words but when she looked at his face, she saw that he seemed like he had more to say but was hesitating.

"What is it honey? Just tell me" Mo Li asked him.

Liu Qiang answered in a grim voice," Its Mo Chou. She hasn’t woken up yet". Mo Li felt her heart drop, "She still will wake up right? She has to. She’s probably just tired after everything".

Mo Li sounded a little hysterical, as if she would immediately break down if anyone said anything else. So Liu Qiang had no choice but to pretend to agree with her.

He also did not have the heart to deny his wife who was clearly struggling. He wrapped his arms around her to console her while he prayed in his heart that their daughter would wake up soon.

Mo chou felt as if she was still swimming but instead of water, she was swimming through sludge.

Sometimes she would get tired of it because it felt like she had been swimming forever but she just couldn’t get to the surface.

But every time she had thoughts of giving up, flashes of her new life would play in her head like a video tape.

All the precious memories of her new family and her friends would force her to keep going and keep swimming.

Once in a while, Mo Chou would feel a light sensation on her hands, sometimes on her face as if someone was gently caressing her.

These gentle touches were full of love and longing. It made Mo Chou want to shout, "I’m here" to the person who was touching her but she couldn’t seem to open her mouth.

Instead, a single tear slid down her face.

Li Chen and Huang Chunhua sat beside Mo Chou’s hospital bed.

They were sitting on chairs with some notebooks on their laps. The usually energetic and chattering Li Chen was quiet.

They were both furiously copying their notes. Liu Dai had contacted them both and called them to the hospital a week after the flood.

Both Li Chen and Huang Chunhua had tried calling Mo Chou multiple times because she hadn’t talked to them for quite some time but had failed to contact her.

Even Lu Jinhai had completely disappeared.

Liu Dai had found them and told them everything. He wanted Mo Chou’s friends to accompany her.

So now, they would visit Mo Chou’s hospital room everyday. They would spend hours copying notes for Mo Chou, talking to her about their days or accompanying Mo Li who was always inside the hospital room most of the time.

It had been two weeks since they started their hospital visits but Mo Chou was barely showing any signs of waking up.

"Boss, you have got to wake up now okay. You promised to help me study for these stupid exams" Li Chen stopped writing and said to Mo Chou all of a sudden.

Old Master Liu who was about to open the door to the hospital room heard her words and froze.

He could not help but shed tears when he heard the little girls inside Mo Chou’s hospital room crying.

He turned towards his butler and said, "Find the best doctors for my granddaughter. Don’t spare any expense".

Old master Liu’s butler just nodded his head knowing well that they had already found the best doctors from all around the world and done everything that they could.

Everything was up to fate at this point.

Reaper was staring blankly at the television screen inside his hospital room when someone opened the door and just came in without knocking.

The person who had come in was Liu Dai who had bought Reaper’s food along with him. Reaper had gotten pretty heavily injured during the flood, especially his head injury, so the doctors hadn’t fully discharged him yet.

Liu Dai took one look at the dazed Reaper who was just sitting on the hospital bed and said with a firm voice, "Finish your breakfast. You are getting discharged today".

His words Instantly surprised Reaper who then asked "Did the doctors decide to discharge me early"?

Liu Dai replied, "No, they didn’t agree but I made them discharge you. I don’t want to see you moping anymore".

He hesitated a little and added, "I know that it’s hard for you to accept that our sister has not woken up yet. But she wouldn’t have wanted you to just sit there and act like a fool, so just go and visit her like I know you want to" Having said that, Liu Dai stormed off leaving Reaper alone.

Looking at the bag of food on his bed, Reaper finally could not hold back his tears anymore. "I’m sorry my little one, I’m sorry I failed you again".

"Yes, young master Lu has agreed to follow all the set conditions as long as the miracle doctor agrees to cure the patient".

Huo Jichen put the phone down with a sigh. He had never imagined that his boss would have to resort to asking for help one day.

Huo Jichen could only hope that Lu Jinhai wouldn’t regret his decisions in the future. He looked at his brother who was sitting beside him and said," it seems like there is a storm on the horizon brother".
