Chapter 79: Family

Mo Chou was with Lu Jinhai, they were sitting inside the same pavilion as before. The weather was nice and butterflies could also be seen dancing around from one flower to another.

Lu Jinhai had actually already fallen asleep while leaning back on the bench they were sitting in, thankfully not on Mo Chou’s shoulder this time. Mo Chou was a little bored and wondered about what to do.

She didn’t feel like playing games or scrolling through weibo.

’Oh, I should try to draw and capture this view’.

Mo Chou took out one of her notebooks, she didn’t carry around any sketchbooks or anything so she had to make do with her notebook and pen.

Mo Chou slowly got immersed in sketching. She was even humming a tune without realizing it.

The same female student who had taken and uploaded the pictures of Mo Chou and Lu Jinhai online was passing by when she came across the beautiful scene.

It was only partly a coincidence as the student now liked walking past the pavilion in case she could see Mo Chou or Lu Jinhai. She had gained a lot of followers on weibo after posting those pictures and her followers kept asking her to upload more pictures like the previous ones.

Hence, the student had made a habit of passing by there everyday just to try her luck.

She couldn’t actually believe it at first when she saw Mo Chou and Lu Jinhai together again. This time too, they looked like they were straight out of a painting with Lu Jinhai sleeping soundly beside Mo Chou while Mo Chou was concentrating on drawing.

Lu Jinhai had woken up when Mo Chou was sketching and had slowly shifted his position to lean on her like before without her even noticing. Then he closed his eyes and went back to sleep feeling content.

Obviously the female student took this golden opportunity, this time she even made sure to take pictures from different angles by pretending to walk by.

After she took several photos, she left the spot in satisfaction.

After a long time had passed, Mo Chou finally finished her sketch. She wanted to stretch her body first as she was feeling a little stiff but suddenly realized that Lu Jinhai had once again, somehow, ended up sleeping while leaning on her shoulder.

Mo Chou sighed and tried to slowly lift his head to free her shoulder but woke Lu Jinhai up instead.

"Hey, umm, I need to use the bathroom" Mo Chou blurted out without even thinking.

Lu Jinhai looked at her with an amused expression and said, "sure, go ahead, or should I escort you there".

Mo Chou was speechless, "who told you that I need you to escort me? Hmph, I’m going now".

She really stood up and started to walk towards the nearest bathroom. She didn’t take anything but her phone with her.

Lu Jinhai looked at the open notebook and saw Mo Chou’s sketch. He had noticed this when he saw her doodles but Mo Chou could really draw quite well.

’Will she give me the sketch if I ask for it’? Lu Jinhai wanted to frame the sketch.

Meanwhile Mo Chou reached the bathroom, since she was already there she decided to relieve herself.

When she had just finished washing her hands, she suddenly got a call. She took her phone from inside her pocket and looked at the caller id.

Mo Chou was a little surprised when she saw that it was actually Reaper calling.

’Hmm, did something happen? He hasn’t called me since the last time we met’. Mo Chou picked the call and greeted him.

On the other end of the call, Reaper was a little nervous as to what to say. Even after Mo Chou said hello, he didn’t know what to say and kept quiet.

"Hey, are you there"?

"Ohh, umm ,yeah." Reaper finally replied after hearing Mo Chou’s loud question.

"So what’s the matter big brother? Why did you call me? Did something happen?" Mo Chou started asking various questions.

Reaper knew that he would definitely not be able to explain everything on the phone and the matter was a little complicated too. So he asked Mo Chou if she would be able to meet up today.

"Ohh, sure but what time? I have to be home before it’s too late,’’replied Mo Chou.

Reaper thought about it and asked her what time her classes would finish, he would meet her as soon as she was free.

"I actually skipped classes today but I’m still inside the University. If it’s something important, I can meet you after saying bye to my friend".

"Ohh, then can you arrive at the same restaurant as last time, in about half an hour?" Reaper asked her.

"Sure, meet you there" Mo Chou said and cut the call. She went back to the pavilion and told Lu Jinhai that she had to go meet her brother.

Lu Jinhai didn’t want her to leave yet but he still agreed. He thought that she was going to meet Liu Dai. "Then, I’ll go home too".

He took his bag and looked at Mo Chou.

Mo Chou wondered why he was looking at her, then suddenly realized that he was waiting for her. "Ohh, I’m going to meet him in a restaurant nearby. So I’m not taking the car".

"Ohh", Lu Jinhai didn’t ask anything more. He bade goodbye and walked towards the parking space as he always drove himself while coming to university.

Actually Lu Jinhai felt that it was a little weird that Mo Chou would leave her car at the University but he didn’t probe as she didn’t say anything either.

Mo Chou took the exit that she always used while sneaking out without her bodyguards. When she arrived at the restaurant, she looked at the time and saw that it was five minutes earlier than the agreed time.

When she entered the restaurant, she was directly escorted to the same private room as last time as the staff recognized her.

This time the room was empty. Mo Chou sat down and ordered a drink and some food. She was a little hungry, she knew that Reaper wouldn’t mind even if she started eating without him so she slowly ate while waiting for him.

Reaper actually arrived a little late because he had been stuck in traffic. When he arrived at the private room, he saw Mo Chou eating like a little chipmunk with her stuffed cheeks. He found it incredibly cute, she was still a little foodie like before.

"Hey" Mo Chou greeted Reaper while her mouth was still full. "Swallow the food first, dummy" Reaper flicked Mo Chou’s forehead making her glare at him.

Mo Chou hurriedly chewed and swallowed the food and asked him, "so, what is it that you want to tell me? Is it something important".

"Hmm, yeah its pretty important and telling you everything might take some time. Why don’t you fill your stomach first. You seem quite hungry".

"Huh, oh okay, you eat some too" she said, sliding the food across the table.

Reaper smiled and nodded. He hadn’t really eaten anything either. First he ordered some more dishes, then he started eating too.

They didn’t talk while they were eating but it was not awkward at all, especially when Mo Chou was so focused on eating. " haa, the food here is really good".

Reaper hummed in agreement. After they were done eating Mo Chou once again asked Reaper what he wanted to tell her.

Reaper simply took out the envelope with the photos and handed them to her. He would explain after she looked at all the photos.

Mo Chou was a little confused as she took the envelope.

She took out the photos and looked at the first one, "ohh, is this you as a baby? How cute. Is this what you wanted to show me? Little baby Reaper?"

Reaper simply said, "go ahead, keep looking".

Mo Chou nodded and looked at the next photo wondering why her big brother was being so mysterious.

She came across the photo of Mo Li holding the baby Reaper and immediately recognised her.

"W_what"? Mo Chou was absolutely shocked. She looked at the other photos one by one silently. She even read the texts and texts after realizing that there was stuff written on the back.

Finally, she saw a picture of herself being held by Mo Li and read the text on the back. She suddenly felt a little emotional.

Mo Chou was smart and could piece everything together without Reaper’s explanation. She looked at the last photo which was of Mo Li and a man.

"Is he really my father"? She asked Reaper while pointing at the man in the picture.

"Our father," Reaper replied with a sad smile.

"So you really are my big brother", Mo Chou said in a quiet voice. After she had her new family, the only one she had been worried about was Reaper.

Even after arriving at a different world, Reaper didn’t have any family but now she had just found that she was his family, his little sister, just as she had always wanted to be.

They had always been big brother and little sister, but now she could openly say so.

Reaper was watching Mo Chou quietly. All of a sudden, he got into a fright as Mo Chou burst into tears.
