Chapter 28: Angry rabbit

Mo Chou looked at her panda eyes in the mirror. She couldn’t get a good sleep at all as she kept waking up every time a kitten came close to her in her dreams.

While putting on some concealer, she thought ’at least my dreams weren’t perverted this time’.

She had decided to stop trying to get more sleep around five o’clock. She just got up and started on her workout routine to strengthen her body. It was around seven now and there was still a lot of time till her classes.

Mo Chou wondered if her parents had come back home last night or just stayed outside. She wanted to give Liu Qiang the pen that she bought for him but she felt that it might be a little embarrassing. ’I should have just given everyone’s presents together.’

Mo Chou was in a dilemma when there was a light knock on the door. She opened it to find her mother jumping around outside the door. Mo Li always had boundless energy and it seemed like she was extra happy today. Looking at her, Mo Chou couldn’t help but smile.

"Yay you’re awake, let’s go, we can have breakfast with the whole family today" Mo Li said excitedly. Everyone was always busy with something most of the days so everyone gathering together to have a meal or to spend time together was rare.

Mo Li adored her family and wished they could spend time together every day, so she was really delighted to find that everyone would be able to eat breakfast together that day. She even cooked one of everyone’s favorite dishes personally.

Mo Chou wanted to make her happy, so she tried to match her enthusiasm. She quickly got Liu Qiang’s present from her room and followed Mo Li to the dining area.

Liu Dai and Liu Qiang were already sitting on the dining table when they arrived. Mo Li went to the kitchen as she wanted to personally serve the dishes. Mo Chou was wondering where she should sit when Liu Dai actually got up and pulled out a chair for her beside him. She felt flattered, Liu Dai looked like a gentleman and with his ’male lead’ looks, any other girl would swoon.

"My future sister-in-law is going to be lucky" thought Mo Chou.

Liu Dai was also pleased when he saw Mo Chou sitting down obediently. Soon Mo Li finished serving all of the food and everyone started eating. Mo Li obviously couldn’t keep quiet and started talking about anything and everything.

Looking at the scrumptious looking food and the harmonious scene, Mo Chou felt content. She used her chopsticks to pick up a piece of sweet and sour chicken Mo Li had made specially for her and took a bite.

Mo Chou almost jumped up from the taste, she immediately took the orange juice next to her and started gulping. ’Did she accidentally dump all the spice inside the kitchen in the dish?’ She wondered.

She didn’t want Mo Li to be sad, so she forced her expression to be normal. Thankfully Mo Li was busy chatting with Liu Qiang and didn’t notice anything.

Mo Chou looked at the rest of her family who were all eating with normal expressions and wondered if it was only the chicken that was bad. ’It might have been a mistake.’

She tried the dish Mo Li had made for Liu Dai and almost spit it out immediately, ’nope, they are just good at acting’ she thought. The salt in the dish was enough to give someone cardiac arrest.

Mo Chou recalled that she hadn’t had Mo Li’s cooking after being reincarnated. The villainess also didn’t have any memories of her cooking. Perhaps Mo Li didn’t realize that her cooking was so bad as she was eating happily.

Mo Chou really couldn’t torture herself any further so she avoided the dishes cooked by Mo Li and just ate the rest of the food which was cooked by the chef.

She looked at Liu Qiang’s plate which was piled up with Mo Li’s food and couldn’t help but pity him.

After eating for a little while, perhaps Liu Qiang was unable to handle it anymore and announced that he was full and had to head to work. Using this opportunity, Liu Dai also said that he was full.

Seeing that Liu Qiang was about to leave, Mo Chou took the pen and gave it to him. Just like Liu Dai, Liu Qiang looked at the wrapped gift in disbelief. He opened it and looked at the pen like it was a treasure.

Mo Chou felt embarrassed with his actions as she didn’t feel like it was a big deal. Liu Qiang thanked her and asked her if her pocket money was finished. As Mo Chou had already gotten a bank card and had yet to finish it, she quickly said that she had more than enough.

Liu Qiang looked at Liu Dai with a smug expression and said "look my daughter specifically gifted me a pen".

Liu Dai just acted nonchalant and said "I already got my present yesterday".

Hearing this, Liu Qiang was speechless. ’Its fine, this is the first present from my daughter. I should cherish it.’ Still he was sad that Liu Dai had beat him and gotten a present first. He decided that he would punish him by giving him more work.

Mo Chou found their interactions funny and smiled. Mo Li was also very happy, she felt that her family was getting closer and closer.

Mo Chou arrived at the University and met up with Li Chen and Huang Chunhua as usual. They spent some time chatting and headed to their classes. When Mo Chou entered the class, she subconsciously looked at the desk beside hers. She didn’t really expect Lu Jinhai to be present but to her surprise, he was actually there.

Mo Chou immediately walked to her seat. She was about to call out his name when he suddenly looked up. He saw that it was her and gave her a sleepy smile. Mo Chou frowned when she looked at his tired face.

’Why does he look so tired? Did he lose weight?’

Mo Chou wanted to ask him about his health but remembered that she had decided to ignore him so she kept quiet.

Lu Jinhai looked at her face and felt that her angry look was especially cute. He had finished his work as fast as he could and hadn’t even rested. He came straight to the University after his flight and had been waiting for Mo Chou.

When he finally saw her, he felt that it was worth it. Just looking at her made him feel like all his fatigue was gone. ’She definitely missed me a lot’ he thought as he looked at her expression.

Mo Chou felt frustrated as Lu Jinhai was staring at her again. ’Is there something on my face?’ She wanted to ask but stopped herself. She refused to acknowledge him. ’I’m going to ignore him the whole day, that will teach him a lesson.’

Lu Jinhai didn’t mind Mo Chou’s silence. He felt like teasing her till she cracked. He took a strand of her long hair and started playing with it.

After keeping quiet for a while, Mo Chou couldn’t take it anymore and said, "I didn’t give you permission to play with my hair."

Lu Jinhai looked at her and said playfully, "and what do i need to do to get your permission?" Mo Chou replied angrily, "you won’t get it no matter what you do."

Lu Jinhai chuckled and whispered "how cute". He then took out a bag from under his desk and handed it to her.

Mo Chou looked at him questioningly and he just said "for you". She looked inside and saw that it was full of expensive looking chocolate and also a small wrapped gift. Mo Chou felt that it was too much and wanted to return it but Lu Jinhai simply stopped her by saying "throw it away if you don’t want it".

Mo Chou was speechless, ’who would even say such lines outside of a book?, if he didn’t have such mind blowing good looks he would have sounded like a douche.’

Still she accepted the bag and decided to forgive him. "Were you travelling?"she asked.

"Yeah, I had to attend a relative’s funeral."

He lied flawlessly. ’Someone did lose his life’ he thought.

Mo Chou felt bad for ignoring him when she heard that he had gone to attend a funeral. "I’m sorry. It must be hard."

Looking at her sad expression, Lu Jinhai felt like he should have used another excuse. He immediately distracted her by changing the subject.

When the teacher announced that the class was over, Mo Chou was in disbelief. She hadn’t felt the time passing at all. All she did was chat with Lu Jinhai.

She met up with her friends to go to the cafeteria and Lu Jinhai followed her naturally. The new students who had recently joined their table were awkward at first but seeing that Lu Jinhai didn’t mind them they slowly started their usual chatter.
