Chapter 20: Devil Lu

Little Jin Hua started crying as he felt the kind uncle stop moving under him. He liked this uncle who had given him a lollipop and promised to bring him home. He wanted to give his favourite bunny to the kind uncle to thank him.

Jin Hua started to struggle on top of Mo Chou and freed himself a little. He looked at Mo Chou and saw that there was blood on her forehead. He first tried waking her up but when he saw that she wasn’t answering, he started thinking. His dad had taught him to call him when he needed help but he didn’t have a phone. He saw that Mo Chou was bleeding so he decided to ask someone for help but he didn’t see anyone nearby.

The driver who hit Mo Chou had panicked and had already fled. The road was empty and just as little Jin Hua was feeling defeated, he saw a car slowly stop before him.

Min Gui had finally succeeded in persuading Lu Jinhai to go out and have fun with him. Huo Jichen had actually begged for his help as he hadn’t been able to return home for two whole days.

He was on the road to a private race track when he saw that there was someone lying on the road. He thought that it was just a drunkard and was about to drive past when Lu Jinhai suddenly told him to stop the car.

Min Gui was surprised as Lu Jinhai wasn’t the kind of person who would help others. Min Gui looked at the guy and saw that there was actually a child beside the unconscious person. Lu Jinhai got out of the car and he hurriedly followed him as he was concerned for the child.

Min Gui saw that the guy was actually injured and bleeding on the forehead. He then saw that the child was wearing a bulletproof vest. Jin Hua looked at the two people who reached by his side. He saw that the big brother in front looked very beautiful so he thought of the angel in the books his dad used to read to him. Jin Hua thought that Lu Jinhai was an angel who came to help him so he hugged his legs and said in his childish voice "Uncle angel, please help kind uncle".

Lu Jinhai didn’t know why he had the urge to help someone all of a sudden but when he took a close look at the unconscious man, he was shocked. He just knew that this person was actually Mo Chou in disguise.

He didn’t have any time to ponder as he saw the blood on her forehead. He immediately picked her up and brought her into the car. He wanted to reach the hospital as quickly as possible as he was starting to panic inside but he still had a small bit of rationality so he ordered Min Gui to carry the child and place him into the car too.

He worked on stopping the bleeding on Mo Chou’s forehead and told Min Gui to drive to the nearest hospital as fast as possible. Min Gui was stunned to see Lu Jinhai carry an unknown man from the roadside to his car but upon seeing Lu Jinhai’s frosty look, he obediently did as he was told.

The nearest hospital turned out to be one of the hospitals under the Min family. Min Gui informed the hospital director beforehand to prepare the best room with a team of doctors ready. He knew that he had made the right decision when he saw Lu Jinhai’s approving look.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Mo Chou was taken to a private room for examination. Lu Jinhai followed the doctors to the room and told Min Gui to handle Jin Hua. When Min Gui took a close look at Jin Hua’s face, he found him very familiar.

’Isn’t this child the missing son of the Jin family"?thought Min Gui. The Min family had some buisness dealings with them and he had seen him before. Min Gui found it bizzare but decided to send the little boy back to his family.

He thought that Lu Jinhai probably wouldn’t like being disturbed so he sent him home personally.

When he dropped him home, Jin Hua’s family thanked him profusely but he didn’t take the credit and said that he had actually been rescued by someone else. When they asked for the person’s information, Min Gui played dumb and said that he didn’t know as the person was wearing a mask.

Jin Hua’s dad immediately thought of the mission he had posted on the Assassin Organization as a last resort and felt like it was probably someone from there who had rescued Jin Hua.

He had actually gotten one of his friends who had connections with someone from the Assassin Organization and they had posted it on a joint mission. Although he didn’t know all the details, he was still very thankful.

On Lu Jinhai’s side, They had finished conducting all the tests and found that Mo Chou wasn’t in a life-threatening condition. She had fainted because she had hit her head and was most likely to have a slight concussion. Aside from that there was just some bruising and an abrasion on the back of her hand from protecting Jin Hua.

Mo Chou still needed two stitches but when the nurses wanted to clean the wound on her forehead, they were scared away by Lu Jinhai who took the task upon himself. The nurses could only watch obediently as they were specifically instructed to obey Lu Jinhai’s every word.

Lu Jinhai carefully cleaned Mo Chou’s forehead. He made sure not to take off any of her special makeup. The nurses looked on and even suspected that he was gay but they didn’t dare let out a pip.

After he was done, Lu Jinhai called the doctor and told him " If I see even a slight scar after it heals, you can forget about your job". The doctor felt like he had lost half of his life after he was done but he was sure that with some scar removal ointment, there would definitely not be any scarring.

Lu Jinhai dismissed everyone and started treating the abrasion on the back of Mo Chou’s hand. He looked at her disguised face and felt himself getting furious. He wondered why she had to perform all these stunts and endanger herself but with the nature of his work and the blood on his hands, he wasn’t really in any position to question her.

He even had to hide his attraction towards her because if the news that he fancied someone reached the wrong person, he might even put her in grave danger. For the first time in his life, Lu Jinhai felt that he wasn’t strong enough.

He silently promised himself that become powerful enough that he didn’t have to fear anyone or anything.

Lu Jinhai took Mo Chou’s uninjured hand and placed a light kiss on the back of it before he stood up and left the room. He informed the hospital staff that they were not allowed to mention him or Min Gui and that no one was allowed into the room. He saw the text from Min Gui that he had already dropped the little boy home, so he decided to leave a note in case she would worry.

Min Gui was in his car in the hospital exit. He had gotten a text from Lu Jinhai to wait here. Finally he saw Lu Jinhai exiting the hospital. He silently got inside the car and told him to go to his private mansion. Min Gui had a stomach full of questions but could tell that Lu Jinhai was not in the mood to talk so he just drove.

Anyways he knew that Lu Jinhai would never do anything he wasn’t sure of so he decided to just let it go. They arrived at the mansion and Lu Jinhai quietly got out of the car. Min gui thought that Lu Jinhai would head to bed but he saw him entering his home office. Min Gui sighed and silently prayed for everyone to be spared from devil Lu. (^♡^)
