Chapter 1128: The War Begins

The teleportation gate’s sudden appearance caught most of the native creatures in this microplane completely off guard.

The massive half-beastman legions that Eugene had been building up over the years actually put up a good fight, despite their crude weapons.

More importantly, these half-beastmen were fighting with conviction.

They would not turn back, even if it meant dying on the battlefield for the sake of their race.

Among the nearly seven hundred thousand half-beastman troops, there were even two who had reached demigod level—one a half-wolffolk, the other a half-bearfolk.

Both were formidable in combat.

Honestly, the overall quality of the half-beastman troops Eugene handed over to Sein was not bad at all.

Within those seven hundred thousand troops, close to ten thousand had reached Rank One or above.

Alongside them were nearly two thousand Magus World knights, including two at the demigod level.

Magus World mages were more strategic thinkers, which often earned them more respect than knights. So naturally, no one had a problem following Sein’s lead.

In fact, the knights were more than happy to let Sein handle the planning and coordination. It meant they could focus entirely on charging into battle and smashing through the enemy.

Bouldrak World and the microplanes under its control clearly had no idea what was coming from Beastmen World.

Sein could sense the plane’s will stirring, and the suppression effect it placed on the invading army was already noticeable.

Time was of the essence.

If the native forces managed to form resistance groups in time, things would get a lot messier.

That made this early stage of the invasion the most critical window.

“Push east and south immediately. Clear out any resistance you find,” Sein ordered.

“Deploy the scout knights and mages—I want a complete read on this plane. Figure out where the key planar nodes are located. We’ll establish fortress camps once we run into a force big enough to warrant it. But for now, our priority is rapid expansion. Claim as much ground as possible!”

Sein delivered these orders through the crystal ball to the legions as they crossed into the microplane.

Even though this was his first time leading a microplane war, he was composed and efficient.

His calm, steady tone gave everyone around him a strong sense of confidence.

“Yes!” the two demigod-level knights responded in unison.

The two half-beastman demigods also obeyed without question. What surprised Sein was that one of them was actually Eugene’s son.

Rank Four beings rarely produced offspring as their powerful bloodlines made reproduction difficult.

Since half-beastmen were mixed-blood creatures, some lineages among them did not have high fertility either.

Still, Eugene truly lived up to his title as the spiritual leader of the half-beastman race—he was indeed a “hardworker”.

He had seven sons and four daughters.

Aside from his youngest daughter, a baby who had only recently opened her eyes, all his children were participating in the war against Bouldrak World.

Even his youngest son, still in his early teens and not yet at Rank One, joined the war effort.

Eugene was setting an example—giving everything he had for the future of the half-beastmen.

Success was the only option. There was no room for failure.

They would either return to Beastmen World alive or fall in battle.

The half-beastman legions advanced fast, and their spirit of enduring hardships reminded Sein of the minotaurlings from Centaurplane.

By the second month after entering the microplane, Sein’s forces finally encountered a proper resistance force.

A native legion roughly three hundred thousand strong stood in their way.

Of that number, about two hundred thousand were geo elemental beings.

The remaining one hundred thousand were flesh-and-blood creatures with bizarre appearances.

Bouldrak World and its vassal planes were rich in resources.

Even this microplane, now beneath Sein’s feet, could be seen as a smaller version of the larger world it belonged to.

The geo elemental creatures here closely resembled the dominant species of the main plane—the Bouldraks.

In fact, these native elemental creatures were likely descendants of migrants from the main world.

Now, the three hundred thousand-strong mixed army stretched across the horizon.

While geo elemental creatures were not known for their high reproduction rates, they made up for it with their incredibly tough and durable bodies.

Among the three hundred thousand native troops on this plane, several geo elemental giants stood out—each one towering over a hundred meters tall.

Their life levels were roughly around Rank Three, but with the boost from the planar laws and their overwhelming physical strength, they could go toe-to-toe with demigod-level invaders, who were weakened by planar suppression.

At the front of the formation stood a massive geo elemental, its body a brownish-yellow sphere with two thick arms.

It belonged to the dominant species that Sein and the others would be facing in this campaign—the Bouldraks.

Compared to the other giants, this one was not particularly massive, measuring only around fifty meters in diameter.

Even so, it was still the strongest among the native forces, being a demigod!

As of now, Sein had yet to determine exactly how many demigod-level beings existed in this microplane.

Eugene might have managed to bypass the planar will and open an interplanar passage, but that did not mean he had detailed intel on this world’s defenses.

“Evil invaders! Why have you come to attack the Boubor World? Do you not know that Boubor is a vassal world of the great Bouldrak World?” the spherical elemental creature bellowed.

“Looks like this one has no idea that its superior world is already being invaded by the half-beastman legions. Who wants first blood? Taking down a demigod-level native will do wonders for our momentum going forward,” Sein said through his crystal ball.

“I will!”

“Allow me!”

The two demigod-level knights who had come with Sein were already fired up, each commanding a thousand knights of their own.

Knights were usually prideful—neither of them wanted to be outdone by the other.

But before either could make a move, a half-wolffolk with a muscular frame and pale green skin stepped forward.

“How could we possibly let our honored guests take the lead? Let us handle the first battle,” he said.

This was Eugene’s second son. His weapon of choice was a large, curved scimitar, worn from countless battles.

Though the blade’s surface was scarred with dozens of grain-sized nicks, it still gleamed with a silvery cold light—proof that it was forged from a rare and exceptional alloy.

Sein’s gaze lingered on the blade for a moment.

It was made of a metal he had not seen before.
