Chapter 1110: Irrefutable Evidence

“Is Blackhaven really so messed up that a Rank Four black mage can throw his weight around in our home plane?” White Stella asked.

Like most mermaids, she had a beautiful voice, perfect for singing.

However, her strong authority and questioning tone made all the black mages stiffen.

“I don’t think it is fair to judge the entire Blackhaven based on the actions of a single tower master,” someone finally replied.

“The Tower Master of Bone has indeed committed a serious crime,” Master Andy said as he stepped forward with a faint smile, “but I came to clear up some misunderstandings and prevent this from spiraling further out of control.”

He gestured to the knight standing beside him. “For this reason, I have also invited Rank Five knight, Warren Smith.”

Clad in black armor, Warren Smith radiated a presence even stronger than Andy’s, and that of the Rank Five female mage beside him.

Among all the Rank Five beings gathered here, probably only White Stella could stand toe-to-toe with him.

More importantly, Warren came from a grand order in the Western Archipelago[1].

Just as Andy and Lorthisra represented Blackhaven’s soul towers, Warren represented one of Blackhaven’s grand orders.

Their presence here made it clear that Blackhaven was taking this situation seriously.

With both a soul tower and a grand order involved, White Stella knew she had to tread carefully.

After all, she was only on good terms with the Guardians—not one of them.

It was not her place to straighten out Blackhaven’s internal affairs.

She was just about to wrap this incident up as the justified punishment of the Tower Master of Bone—the main culprit—when a voice cut through the air.

It came from none other than the Tower Master of Bone himself.

Shrewd and calculating as ever, he clearly realized he had kicked a hornet’s nest this time.

He should have known better than to mess with a mage who had two divine relics and several divine artifacts in his possession.

With the Tower Master of Bone’s strength, it was indeed hard for him to walk away without trying to fleece a fat sheep like that.

At the end of the day, he could only blame himself for his greed and ignorance.

If he had a few more millennia to establish himself in Blackhaven and build connections with more long-standing Rank Five and higher black mages, he would have recognized the origin of Sein’s Silver Spider Ring, and he never would have dared lay a hand on him.

After all, Lorthisra was the adopted daughter of Nergal, a Rank Eight black mage—making her the uncrowned queen of this entire region.

With her unique bloodline and origin, even the guardians had to cut her some slack. So who was the Tower Master of Bone in comparison?

The presence of Tourmaline and her family alone was enough to make these local tyrants on Blackhaven’s outskirts bow their heads.

If Lorthisra were here, the Tower Master of Bone’s fate would have been ten times worse.

In this world, people disappeared without a trace all the time—even Rank Four black mages were no exception.

If Lorthisra were to deal with the Tower Master of Bone, he might not even make it to Atlan Interstellar Prison. He would have just vaporized on the spot.

Killing a Rank Four divine tower master was technically a serious taboo, but if it was a black mage operating inside Blackhaven...

Lorthisra could always justify it as doing a bit of “spring cleaning” for her adoptive father.

She would not even need to lift a finger; plenty of people were more than willing to dirty their hands for her.

Many of the black mages present understood that if they wanted to calm all sides, they would have to sacrifice the Tower Master of Bone.

Unfortunately for him, he remained clueless and was still trying to defend himself.

“Mighty mermaid, I wasn’t recklessly using my power! Your subordinates attacked me first. I had no choice but to protect myself!” the Rank Four black tower master protested indignantly.

By now, he had more or less figured out who White Stella and Tourmaline really were. But the idea of being sent to Atlan Interstellar Prison was something he simply could not accept.

It was the most famous interstellar prison within the Magus Alliance for a reason.

Countless dangerous criminals had been locked away there, most serving sentences that lasted at least a millennium.

The lucky ones made it out after a few millennia. The unlucky ones were stuck there for tens of thousands of years. By the time they were finally released, no one even remembered their name.

Atlan Prison was rumored to be the remnants of an ancient civilization, later reinforced and repurposed by the Magus Civilization.

Andy had managed to escape from it back in the day, leading a group of inmates using nothing but his intelligence. But that did not mean the Tower Master of Bone would be capable of the same.

This interstellar prison was said to hold some of the most dangerous Rank Six criminals in the alliance.

A mere Rank Four Tower Master thrown into that place would barely cause a ripple.

Andy’s prison break from Atlan was a miracle; the odds of anyone repeating it were slim to none.

Especially now—thanks to Andy himself and a group of erudite Magus World mages, Atlan Pirson had been fortified and upgraded more than a dozen times over the last several millennia.

If it were not for the political risk of provoking an overlord-level being, the Magus Civilization’s top brass might have already thrown one in just to see whether the prison truly was escape-proof against someone of that caliber.

Either way, if the Tower Master of Bone ended up in Atlan Prison, he was not coming back out.

His hollow arguments and weak attempts to shift blame only made the other black mages frown, including Andy himself.

Blackhaven was a place built on selfishness and survival. If the Tower Master of Bone refused to sacrifice himself, did he expect the others to take the fall for him?

Besides, Master Andy was doing him a favor.

If he went to Atlan Interstellar Prison, at least he would live.

But if he stayed in Blackhaven after these draconic beings left... the Spider Queen would likely take matters into her own hands.

Given her status, even the long-established black mages in the heart of Blackhaven would not dare to speak on behalf of a newly promoted Rank Four who had only risen in the last few thousand years.

Despite his desperate attempts to defend himself, it was Sein who drove the final nail into his coffin.

He snapped his fingers, conjuring a faint elemental screen in front of everyone.

The image was fuzzy, likely due to his poor physical condition at the time, but the audience here was no ordinary crowd. They could make out every detail with ease.

The image showed the Tower Master of Bone holding two divine relics and examining a space conch in his other hand.

Sein’s voice appeared. “As far as I know, Rank Four and above are forbidden from fighting within the Magus World—Blackhaven included.”

In a smug, almost mocking tone, the black tower master replied, “Well, yes, but we have ways around that.”

That single statement became the irrefutable evidence that shoved him into a pit of no return.

Openly defying the laws like that? There was no crawling back from it.

The only reason this moment had been captured at all was thanks to the silver ring the Spider Queen had given Sein, which allowed him to store memories using elemental power—even while under suppression.

Under the stunned gazes of the Tower Master of Bone and the surrounding black mages, Sein calmly walked up to Tourmaline.

With a faint smile, he declared, “I stand in eternal opposition to crime.”

1. Recap: A grand order is equivalent to a mage’s soul tower, led by a knight overlord ☜
